it weighs 186 kg wet and dry its 171kg which is very light compared to the japanese counter bikes in this class. it goes 0-100 kph in 3.4s that's a bullet between your legs. the suspension feels excellent compared to z1000 and sport bikes. i have owned the scrambler for over a year and all during that time i was trying out other bikes still come back to this one

Exactly, for reasons best known to himself, the reviewer was blowing smoke out of his arse on the weight, the brakes, handling and tyres. Nor did he mention it is a quality finished machine, and worth every penny I spent.

Interesting watching this as I’ve just moved up from a 125 to a 2019 Ducati Scrambler Full Throttle. I find it to be a great first big bike. Enough power, feels nimble and I find the brakes and suspension to be good - certainly a massive step up in stopping power and ride quality versus my 125. Worth noting though that none of the 2019 scramblers have traction control as far as I’m aware. Cornering ABS a good feature for a newbie though.

In the video he mentioned the brakes as a weak point of the bike. Is it so bad?

My first Ducati scram io spent the first two months doing 140 to 200 kmh and taking curves like nobodys business.. then one day i slow down to 70 ad the front wheel starts wobbling and a tank slapper throws me off as i cross over the ocean between mainland and an island, on a bridge. The wind was enough to cause a tank slapper. I have had three tank slappers on my ducati scramblers already, fell off on one nof them, Be careful with the throttle on roads with bumps, ramps or holes if its a cafe, or full throttle or a desert sled

I love this bike...right up to the point where it makes 75 horsepower. Goodness my 450 modified motocross bike makes 63hp and it's only 230 pounds. That's a lot of money for what you get.

Lovely little bike! I prefer the black & gold paint job, though. The engine is great, the handling is nimble. The brakes take some getting used to, I agree.

Ducati scrambler is just about looking cool. You can enjoy riding in any bike without spending too much.

Doesn't do it for me but the Desert Sled, now that's a good looking bike :)

I own one. It’s fun to ride. I drop the rear shocks and a raise the handlebars because it’s supposed to be a bloody scrambler not a café racer. I want a café racer ill buy a triumph Thruxton or similar. If I want a scrambler I want a larger front wheel and the smaller back wheel not the other way around. You have to change the slip phones because these pipe sound absolutely absolutely horrible. The bike runs smoother than some of the other “scrambler“ model(I was born in the 70s. None of these are real scramblers) have different Power Rangers and different throttle reactions although they are all I believe live by wire. But the Night Shift and the café racer are definitely tuned much much differently. The café racer requires and uses higher rpm and the torque kicks in at the higher RPM. I put a new carbon slip on on my Nightshift and to be honest it’s allowed me to now have high torque with low RPM medium RPM and high RPM regardless of what speed I’m going in so long as I stay around the 4000 RPM. The café racer is twice as high in pitch. I think I’ll make a clip on this channel of mine. The Ducati reviews Thailand of the sound of the muffler I put on the Night Shift, although trying to reproduce the sound through a mobile device on RU-vid is pretty difficult, but I’ll try…. Changing the stock pipes is always a good idea. Don’t sell them because if you resell and you don’t have the original parts price goes down.

Top video. I’m not buying this based on your review. As an experienced rider, my fear it was underwhelming was correct. Hell, the 800 ss was a dog too when I was trying to get my first bike but the ZXR750 won out in the end. Ducati. Build another racer like this but with 1000-1200cc

I am pretty sure this bike does not have Traction control. Other than that, great review, really like this new format, on point observations.

I was told, pre ride that it did, and there was no way of turning it off. Although if you did a burn out on it you’d get a warning light on the dash that seems to happen when bike have TC and you override it. Thanks for watching though.

As an owner who has ridden bikes for 40 plus years, completely disagree with the brakes comment. Utter tosh. The massive disc hauls it up just right, and where on earth are you making the case this is a heavy bike they ave managed to somehow hide the weight on lol? Disagree with handling and the tyres comments, too. It's got cornering ABS, and the confidence the handling this machine gives me is great. Sponginess? Nope. Try another one, mate. It's a wonderful country road blaster, nimble and sheer fun to ride. It can cruise at 80, helped by the slightly forward position making the wind blast actually help ease any pressure on the arms. It's a quality finished bike, which you miserably fail to mention, and is noticeably better than my BMW.

I put some Pirelli MT 60 RS M/C 73H TL Trails and raised handlebars (blue) dropped the back suspension to one above lowest, and no more twitchy. but the 17" front wheel is a mistake compared to the other models which have an 18. Also the shorter suspension travel on front forks compared to other models means iy is only good for perfect tarmac roads but not the pothole mud and gravel puddly roads we have here in Thailand. Anyway a bit silly of Ducati to make a cafe racer out of a scrambler, or a scrambler out of a cafe racer, as it is chalk and cheese, but then again the bike looks fantastic which is why i bought one, but the twitchy clipons gave me a tank slapper on day 1 so i changed tem. My brakes are the upgraded brembos and are fantastic. I stil have to laugh at the name 'scrambler cafe racer' though, its like saying 'supersonic tortoise'

"The narrow handle bars"!?!? These are the widest bars I ever had, and I have and had many bikes.I pushed them in as much I could...some 15mm on each side.

Decent review. I like this bike. It's very pretty but it seems to me like a (much?) cooler SV650X & I just can't see how it's worth 3+k more & 10k in total. If it had fully adjustable suspension maybe, but as is 10k puts you pretty close to a lot of better Ducatis let alone the multitude of other manufactures bikes for that sort of money. TC is also an unnecessary expense for a bike like this. While it undoubtedly looks miles better than the SV, when it comes to bang for your buck, I'm not so sure. That 3k is a lot of mods or wedge in the bank. Out of interest, have you ridden the SV, if so how do they compare?

no traction control, he was mistaken
@ragerider6283
@ragerider6283 5 лет назад
@@asqueezy Makes sense, did wonder why they bothered. Although it makes the price even more of a mystery. No electronics to speak of, non-adjustable suspension & an "old" air cooled engine. I get it's about style but how is it 2k more than a 797? A grand maybe.
@asqueezy
@asqueezy 5 лет назад
To be fair, you could always get an icon and save some money? I agree though, the pricing is very odd, but somehow it's working for ducati, I guess it's all relative? The BMW R9T is in a similar position as well, old air cooled engine and such, but has more electronic options, but also a higher price to go along with that, lol
@ragerider6283
@ragerider6283 5 лет назад
@@asqueezy Yer agreed, what do I know lol. If they're selling them, my point's irrelevant really isn't it. Bless Ducati, it's all about style of over substance. Selling ice to the Eskimos lol.

mate if you come to Thailand, are you get the chance where you are but you won’t be able to give it full welly in England, have a go on online or any MV Augusta, brutale 1090. Spoiler alert I’ve driven a lot of powerful bikes like yourself I’m 58 now and I’ve been driving since 10 years old, but be prepared because that bikes gonna make you crap your pants. Is the wildest thing I’ve ever driven I’m I’ve driven a bike or two in my time. I own 13. Forget the MVA Augusta 803 cylinders they’re horrible but you have to try the 1090 in line for especially mine with the what would be in England Street illegal titanium racing MV Augusta stock recognized arrow, full titanium pipes and carbon muffler, and some extra tuning for the race track. you can almost do 300 KM on it but I’ll tell you the throttle is so sensitive that unless you’re me, my friend William, perhaps yourself I don’t know how you ride anybody else will be doing a wheelie on every year change it 60 to 70° front wheel up in the air because there’s absolutely no play on the throttle and it’s instant
