Just pointing out that this SF only has termignoni slip ons, that a full system has a different appearance in that it has a much larger 70mm diameter exhaust piping, relocated o2 sensor for the vertical rear cylinder and exhaust loop that decreases ground clearance as well as it eliminates the exhaust valve. Also a dramatically improved sound, think Ducati cranked to 11.
I have a strong feeling that the 1098 SF is going to be a very sought after bike. Brutal, classic and unapologetically Ducati. No rider aids, no safety features. Either you've got it or you don't.
If the guy would stop talking for a minute or two while running the bike, we might be able to hear how sweet it sounds. No disrespect meant my friend but sometimes silence is the best comment a youtuber can make.
I'm waffling between getting a SF 1098S and a SFv4s. IMO the 1098 is much prettier (prefer tubes over box frames) but the v4s is almost certainly going to be king of the hypers.
The S has one of Ducati's first traction control systems ... I've thrown it around a track in the wet ... it works ... just need to make sure you buy the right tyres for it.
Awesome! Hope you're still enjoying the bike. I also have the 1098s with under tail pipes. I got it used a few years ago and it had already been tricked out. I hear the new V4 is heavier and a bit wider. I truly think the 1098 is the last of the bad ass bikes.
My dad has the same one but it’s all back and silver exempt for that cage on the sides of the bike his are red, just being in the back of that bike scares me and I am not even operation it’s it is insanely light and almost too much power😂
I don’t know if they still make them but you can get one on a motorcycle website like cycle trader and yes they are still reliable even though they are older as long as you don’t get a trashed one
Only had 2 issues with mine. One is the gas tank expanding due to ethanol in the fuel which is common for plastic tanks. I've got a replacement which I'm going to get internally coated to protect it. The other issue was the fuel pump failed but that was an £80 fix. Other than that its an awesome bike. Done 18k miles on it. Bags more character than 4 cylinder japanese bikes and I still think it's the best looking naked there is with the exposed trellis frame and ohlins suspension. The v4s doesn't quite do it for me, as impressive as the numbers are.
