Not everyone is knowledgeable about the British Monarchy, or do they even care to the degree that monarchist and royalist do. So don't get your panties all in a bunch. Nothing to do with taxpayers. The monarchy is funded by 15 per cent of the income of the private Crown Estate. The government keeps the balance. That's about £300 million a year. Compare that to France, where the president costs taxpayers €105 million a year. Or America, where taxpayers provide $750 million to fund the president.

If you haven't paid any attention to Harry's book/ docuseries or princess Diana's words or the documentary made about her, perhaps you don't understand how the Royal family operates or what is currently transpiring. Currently, as Tampon King,Charles is holding the purse strings of the crown/ monarchy and also controlling where Andrew and Fergie live. So Fergie has to say nice things to keep the peace. Charles is moving Andrew & Fergie from their 75-room castle to Frogmore cottage, the 5 bedroom home that H& M were renting $12,000 monthly after paying 4.1 million to renovate it. They used this home whenever they visited the UK for charity work. At this junture Fergie, Andy and the entire royal family except for H& M are at the mercy of Charles because he gets to make all of the decisions about who gets what, who lives where and who travels for tours because he is the Monarch and holds the purse strings. So whether she likes him or not or thinks he's an awful person or a good person , Fergie is not going to say anything negative, she has to walk a tight rope as her bread is butter by Tampon King Charles.

All the properties within the Windsor Estate belong to the Crown Estate, a business in its own right. Yes, as monarch Charles can decide who to award the leases to but the CE would also have input. I would think that he was advised that 2 people continuing to live in such a large property did not make good business sense and costly to maintain. Andrew does not receive any income from the Civil List and, unlike the Queen, Charles does not privately fund him or Fergie. Fergie has always maintained good relations with the family, it was the DofE who kept her at arms length. Further more, the different royal offices decide and arrange tours. I would suggest being armed with facts before commenting.
