So far my geese are completely docile! They’ve been handled their whole lives, sit on my lap, give kisses, and great conversations. They do their screaming when anyone comes in the drive, including me but that’s because they’re happy to see me. And I found the best way for friends and new friends to win their trust is a handful of grass or hay! I have no idea the sex if either yet unless an egg gets laid…or doesn’t! I know mating season is supposed to be the aggressive behavior time but time will tell!

Zoology nerd here. There is actually no taxonomic distinction between a goose, duck, and swan (the family Anatidae). Which name a species gets is a bit arbitrary. People "tend to" call the species with flatter bills "ducks", tall bills "geese", and long necks "swan". But these are features that species evolved independently, and don't show the relatedness of the species. In other words, the species named swan are not actually one another's closest relatives, and same goes for ducks and geese. In taxonomy terms, they do not represent a clade. They are named for superficial similarities in anatomy, not relatedness. Other names are also mixed into the species names for Anatids, like merganser, teal, smew, goldeneye, scoter, eider, wigeon, gadwall, shoveler, pintail, pochard, and scaup. It's just that the most common names for a species is duck, goose, or swan. Overall, the species names for Anatids are a bit of a mess. So yes, while Wrinkle's species is called a duck, it's hard to blame people for confusing it with a goose. By the way, any perceived difference in sound you hear between "quack" and "honk", or difference in size, is not a consistent tell whatsoever to tell the difference between the many species of duck and goose. You're probably thinking of the difference between a domestic duck and a Canadian goose (the species people are most familiar with), but there are many species named "duck" or "goose" besides those.

@@drea4pres970 Geese are usually short-tempered. However, some kind geese still love their breeder very much.

Also, Wrinkle is a pekin duck, which is a breed bred originally on farms for food. They’re twice the size of wild ducks (well about 3 times the size of most wild breeds of duck) and they are the same size of many goose breeds. So it’s truly an understandable error.

pekin ducks are larger than other ducks. for example, call ducks (i think call ducks are the smallest duck breed) usually don't reach more than 800 grams. Mallards (medium sized ducks, i think they're the wild breed) usually weight between 1 and 2 kg, but pekin ducks can weight over 4-5 kg. But geese are still bigger. I think anser anser (common goose) weights around 6 kg.
