i played this game soon after its release. i had no idea, then, that I was listening to one of the most impactful 8bit VGM compositions that would hold that title for decades. I knew it was special then. all my friends did. but it's touching that in 2017 it's still recognized as one of the best 8bit compositions ever made. Capcom did such a number on my childhood.

I love how the people that created the ducktales 2017 ver just decided to include it in one of the episodes, imagine how much people recognized the reference

Not able to say I played this near release, as I'm only 15, but I initially grew up on the Nintendo, and while Mario was my first ever game, this was definitely one of my first, and I still get a huge wave of nostalgia from the track of this level
