this is why duck is the funniest bot in this whole competition. this fight was basically the school bully giving you a beating and then immediately falling down the stairs.
There are a ton of rules in Robot Wars that really should be on Battlebots. One thing I really hate is no tap outs. They could even make it something like, no tap out until the halfway mark if they're so worried about views.
The producers need some kinda blame over the decision to let this floor be used this year, cobalt should have been allowed to be unstuck from the floor as it wasn't its own or its opponents influence that caused it to become stuck.
How tf did that duck robot win after getting sent flying so many times and losing pieces. The other guys must have been so disappointed losing after dominating
I don’t get it. In another fight witch doctor vs Minotaur 2021, witch doctor also got stuck but wasn’t counted out. Judges allow them to reset. Why is this treated differently? That’s just so unfair
@@Theprophet3928 Bro was absolutely annihilating Duck and then got stuck on the floor at the worst moment bruh. They were actually pretty chill about it too which is surprising since I probably would've been mad AF if I did all that just to lose to ground clearance problems.
Need y'all to remember Deep Six has the win for most destructive bot by proxy, the reason its design didn't come back into the game after some time is because it was too damaging to the arena itself, not a lot of other bots can say they've been banned because they're too violent
And if Cobolt just held on for a little longer could have won this thing hands down. It's almost like Cobalt's flipper got stuck under one of the floor plates (maybe it did).
I'm firmly on the side that Cobalt got robbed by bad luck in this fight That being said the floor is a hazard and if your bot design can get stuck on it that's kinda tough luck, look at Endgame v Ripperoni, Endgame literally got stuck in the killsaw slots at the beginning of the match and it lost because its design made it far too easy for it to happen, that's just the game
That beak weapon is completely useless. I have never seen it used effectively. Its shape makes it almost impossible to lift anything. Only a small change (widening and flattenning) would make a huge difference without sacrificing the iconic look.

one of the many reasons why i wont build and send a robot to these competitions.. the floors are just pathetic and can cause issues like this.. robot wars is even worse because that arena is utter dog shite
Damn. What a bs ending to an amazing fight. I've never downvoted a BattleBots or Robot Wars video ever, but I think I will this one. No offense to the uploader.
The video is good good quality and very entertaining. It's the judges or the rules that suck. The floor snags the best bot and it looses after ripping the other bot apart.... Somehow this is just not the right outcome and everyone watching knows it duck just lost is the looser but on the judges score card has a win. This is why people don't side with the judges... Just saying you know it just look at the video.
they use the kinetic energy of others bots against themselves by stopping their weapons with the beak. All of that energy goes back into the robots and can break them
