I wish lane owners still took good care of their lanes like the lanes depicted here. I realize this is from 1992 but it saddens me greatly to go to my local duckpin alley and see hard foldup chairs to sit on, the lanes not oiled, the paint peeling in the channels and on the ball return ramps. Granted they have fancy new electronic scoring systems but I'd trade that for the old overhead projector manual scoring system any day and lanes that were properly cared for.
What you're forgetting is that bowling is a dying sport, not much participation happens in terms of open play or league play. IF we would have more open play or league play bowlers come in on a more consistent basis then guess what... you would see upgrades and more maintenance happening. BUT until you get more bowlers to come in then why would you see upgrades since there is no money for it.
@@discretecinema8451 That’s why it is a dying sport! If you don’t spend a $, you won’t make a $! I bowl at a center like this today. Constant breakdowns and dry lanes. In other words, it’s a shit house. Manager can only do so much, its not her fault the owner doesn’t care.
