Technically, “cast iron” suggests iron alloys that are cast in a foundry. Ductile iron is one such alloy. However, ductile is a relative newcomer on the scene, with unique mechanical properties that set it apart from traditionally grey or white cast iron alloys.

Very interesting! As I understand it, 'ductile' is the same as 'nodular'?

That's how I understood it too based on the video and further research on the internet! Cast (white) Iron has lamellar graphit which is prone to cracking when deformation occurs. Cracking along the layers of graphit. With nodular graphit this doesn't happen - so it's mor ductile.
