I have a CNC Haas VMC in my garage. The neighbors where not really happy with all the riggers in our Cull De Sac but they forgot about it a week later. That was almost 11 years ago. I never regretted getting the CNC.
I have run two full-size lasers out of home for 15 years now, my biggest fear was someone would report me for running an industrial business from home. I'm still running from home and have no complaints.
lol, who knows, no one cares, lasers are game changers, and can earn enough in one year to buy this house with cash. So you can sit around wring your hands over little details, or buy one and get it making money, and use that money to buy a bigger shop
Love it! Been running the plasma since 2016 and finally convinced the wife to let me put a laser in the garage earlier last year, albeit a smaller one, with no regrets. Great work Gary and thanks for the video as always.
Hi, Can you please tell me what size phase converter was need to run the 3000 watt laser and air compressor. If you have a modle number so I can price. Thanks
@@michaelmisiolek3054 mine is 1500w and my motor is a 20hp. American Rotary is the company I used, and if you email them with your specs they can tell you what size you need. I bought their AD40 model which is more power than I needed, in case I get more 3-phase equipment later.
That neighbor within 20 feet to that outdoor air compressor must be very happy. Funny to consider a compressor to noisy to install it indoors in your house, but OK under someone else's window.
I just picked up a used B1325M unit for the house. But I’m having trouble finding a shop manual to get some replacement parts. The unit caught fire and needs some TLC any suggestions
bro, your machine is superb, we have an old ipg laser 500watts from our old machine from hans laser and on its 6 years of work the only thing that had a problem is the touch screen, and servicing is no longer provided, i just want to ask if ican use the REM side of it?, and bypass the ON side, will it still work?, just a question though, anyway right now we also have purchased a new sengfeng 4kwatts with the raytools head, about 3 weeks ago and its working great but man your 3kwatts is suprisingly fast, im john by the ways a filipino working in Saudi arabia… more power toyour channel bro
I am going to show this Robin , he keeps asking for a bigger shop before I buy the 12 kilowatt laser. Looks like we are not utilizing our space correctly. This just shows that there is always a way to make the impossible happen.
Interesting.... so you want a laser in your shop... I take the time to make a detailed video, that shows almost everything you would need to know... but you cant take the time to watch it all the way through ? I showed the 3phase power in the video
Ha .. Well I'm just catching up on your endeavors. I commented on your new one asking about the old barn. Welp!... never mind she gonedee lol. Glad to see you doing well. Can't get anymore flags from you! lol Thanks for sharing
lol, not quite enough room for that... but by keeping overhead low out of the garage, i suspect he will have space adn budget for a dedicated tube laser within 24 months!

I can see this man put his wife and kids first with buying a house in a HOA fiefdom territory, but I would invest in some sort of UPS looking truck / UHAUL truck for steel ingress and parts outgress. Powder coating parts vs spray paint. Hopefully the fumes are minimal and he insulates the hell out of that compressor so it is no louder than a AC heat pump or swimming pool pump. Will be interesting to see what concerns arise. Too bad he couldn't have talked his wife and kids into a Bardominium with some land.
No not at all. In america, if you are respectful of your neighbors, and dont make too much noise, you can do pretty much what you want. Lasers are very quiet in general. People mowing their lawns will make way more noise, dust, smoke than this machine
Sweet wish I could talk my dad into a fiber laser. We in the 1930/40s tech with a hydro punch press and a 60s era press brake. We mainly fabricate small aluminum printer chassis’s and stainless.020-.080 thickness. Located in NE PA
Hello sir I hope u doing well. Thank u for the video is amazing . I am planning to buy the same fiber laser , could u please tell me from where u got the phase converter ? Also how big of a compressor I need for this machine ? I have cnc router 4x8 in my garage and I want to buy this to cut metal sheet as well . Macimize my productions :) . I appreciate ur time thank u and god bless
Wives often have their own vision of exactly what they want and it rarely aligns with yours. No amount of salesmanship will ever win the support of a wife who puts her desires first. Of course, divorce is an option but that will likely wreck your dreams and hers. Happy wife, happy life. That's reality.
Yes ! Chinese has made cheap affordable technology to be install into family home and young kids can learn and live with that from very young home builder should design the workshop house.😂
I am curious as to the exhaust/filtering system that was put in place to absorb the fumes and later filter them before releasing them to the outside...
Impressive setup and ambition - what is the total amp draw with the phase converter, compressor and laser? I wouldn't think that residential power service would supply enough amps?
Total amp draw is All of it!!! Feed the beast! lol The compressor is about 50amps of 240v 3phase, Laser 30 amps 240v 3ph. So it prob needs 130-150amps of single phase 220v. I think he had a separate 200amp service ran for this, but Its been a while since he and i chatted about that part of it. I got him connected with teh phase converter company and let him handle the details.
@@turbocobra cool thanks, looks like a brand new house with higher substation power - 200 amps for res is extremely rare. glad it worked out, thanks for the content :)
lol... Well, if the wife is truly the problem, yes, agreed. But honestly, the real issue is with the guy, and his inability to establish credability with his wife because he doesnt follow through on his other endeavors....
This size laser is being deployed at a rate of about 100 per month in the US. Pretty soon there will be a fully distributed cutting model and the 30K $1M Big 5 dinasours will fall by the wayside. Get ready!
@@turbocobra yeah its a great area. Lots of hard working people. This guy being one of them. I would love if he could come speak to my senior class. Show them possibilities.
