My son is 24. He doesn’t drink or do drugs but loves cannabis. I just cant seem to get him interested in growing. I dont want to push him but I believe it would really help him. Like it did me! He is now enjoying cooking, so hopefully I can make him see that growing is just like following a recipe .

I,ve been growing close to 40 years & have bred many times for myself. It’s too bad some of us old timers will never be able to share their art!

DJ Short talks about the challenges of taking the best sativa from close to the equator, which he swears is the absolute best. Taking these sativa trees & breeding them to flower quicker & be a reasonable height while keeping the quality high of the Sativa. I hope someone comes up with that hybrid.

Love your stuff guys. Just about too flower my own first sts run seeds(only 2 plants, small scale), thanx to Rasta Jeff(and some other channels, but even Jeff would want me to find more info 🤙). I also mixed something else I had at the same time, but I was not breeding lol, I just wanted to make seeds. Built a tiny cupboard, not 2 foot tall, led lights sure helps, what we can do now is 👍👍👍🤙. The seeds are just my insurance policy if you will. It will take me years to flower enough to know what I have made. But life is long and all new at the same time.

Great show folks. Tropic Thunder is on the 🇨🇦 market already... I think we expect things too quickly these days. It takes time for the best things in life to mature. I have some Panama seeds that take 13-14 weeks. I tried an outdoor run but mold got them at week 9 early November. I have grown those Super Sativas.... Patiently 😅 Those were my stash. Others got my fast flowering inidicas they like 😂

My max pollinations on one plant is three crosses. It is all about timing. I like to use the white, paper baguette bags to cover branches when doing selective pollination. They allow light and oxygen to penetrate but block pollen from escaping if you seal the bottom. It requires a couple tents, shit tons of water, timing and an official DGC grow room wall calendar. @Scotty

Fast versions are what we used to call semi auto back in 2010. Mostly started by Northern hem guerilla growers. The initial idea was to bring forward the flowering trigger , but it was noticed that in some cases it could knock 14 days (outside) of the finishing time. Eventually it crossed over and more and more seed breeders are making them. (Not too sucessfully I might add , with many either fully auto or photo).... As regards to the breeding of 2 good plants naturally giving you a good F1 , you have to consider gene supression and the loss of traits in the breeding , so it is important to build up a database of F1 and F2 traits , to show the dominant traits in the P1.

Sweet Seeds is probably the best at breeding FV cultivars. Almost all of my photoperiods have a bit of ruderallis in them. Living in Michigan its almost a must to have cultivars that finish early outdoors for a quality harvest. From what ive seen the FVs dont usually finish in faster times but they trigger flowering faster with less light decrease.

Why I love growing a perpetual garden & replace a flowering plant when one is finished. That way if I have a longer flowering strain, it’s no problem.

I'm working on my second cross right now. She's Cap Junky x Blue Tara. Im calling it Chunky Junky. The frost is off the chart. I'm at 7 1/2 weeks in flower.

Anyone know who created Cranberry?? Cranberry F2 Bx Cherry Pie is one of if not the best flower I've ever had. I don't know if Cranberry and the Cranberry back crosses were done by the same breeder or not, but this is one of those strains everyone needs to try. ✌

Seed junky J beezy, grandiflora genetics, Humboldt csi are the only ones that I run. Haven’t found any breeders that can beat them.

Plant limits suck. I live in NY and have a summer place in MA, so I have options. Still, I like to grow tropical/equatorial sativas. That's indoors and it makes it tough. I saw a guy walking out of a liquor store with a case of vodka on Christmas eve. Why do we have limits on plants? I'll be growing 6 month+ plants from now on. I do it as a hobby. Modern hybrids bore me to death.

Amazing. Rasta Jeff says he is a home breeder. But he casually dissed the breeding work of ALL europeans: "They beard Cannabis into a weak ass plant" - said during a Chad Westport stream. Said they are not resistant e.g. against mold. He does not even have grow space to breed properly, he is a home breeder without greenhouse, staff or Hightimes Cannabis Cups. He manages to create seeds from plants in solo cups. And relies on discord and external test growers to validate his work. Simple logic, humbleness: He does nothing what people do who run a successful business for 40 years but is on the same level. Hubris.

The clone straight to flower for breeding with Solo cups is FN genius. That'll cut about 75% off the time I was planning for. Thanks a ton.... The time, nutrients, soil, space Everything. Thank you.

I pollen chuck at home. It’s easy enough. You can harvest and store pollen. You can pollinate just a few buds from an entire plant, get some seed and some smoke. It’s fun and you get some dank fire too. I look for strong males, not talll nor short… but strong.

To me a hobby breeder. I always have a plan before hand my first time breeding. I was trying to recreate og kush without using og kush. My next time it's to create the best kush mixing my favorite strain that can be made for outdoor growing in my area. I also chuck pollen as well and just grab all my best females and put it in with the very best breeding male.

I used STS/spray on a clone from a Fire Pure Vida Cultivar and put the pollen on a Cherry Pie clone of a seed that was insta-stoney..

Taproots are more for stability than nutrients after the very early life of the plant. It is much more important in old school farming.

Not that I was trying to breed I guess my plants hermaphrodite and made a bunch of seeds and I've been using those for a year now. All has been good since.

I'm still looking for that "too high for Target" pheno.

I started growing autos then saw Barney's farm would offer later both Auto and Photo versions of a plant.. so I would grow their fast auto first to try.. If I liked auto I bought her big sister (Photoperiod)

I’m assuming they put bags over the branches they’re pollinating? If you put the bag over it first and then puffed in it with the pollen? Seems kind of safe

Smokability is king, if you got a creamy intense aroma plant that burns and leaves the creamy taste in your mouth whilst exhaling, the yield is neither here nor there, as technique will cover the grammage, if you have that plant that is addictive and everyday is a pleasure to smoke, loud af and high as a mf, thats the dream. Well I started breeding back in 2000 in prohibition times more out of necessity than anything else I had a really nice big bud strain but it just wasn't like triked up you know wasn't frosty so I had some early girl and I crossed the big bud with the early girl cuz the early girl was kind of a popcorn buds thing but it was just crystaly as hell so I cross those two together and had a much better product in the end made everybody much happier from that point on I just started figuring hey man when you got to you start looking got these traits and these traits and they'll be good together Bam and there you go it's like rasta Jeff says Just use your head man grow with your heart shout out to rasta 8:19 Jeff DGC awesome shows keep them coming Scotty grandbo dude banner Happy New Year
