I'm a Burgman Fan! Still, the Beamer is still a nice machine, I just think the Burgman is more refined for longer-distance touring, which is what I'm all about! Nice Job Gentlemen!
Thank you for the comparison test... You helped me make up my mind.... At 71 years of age, the Bergman gets the nod... Thanks for a great Vid... Gordon in Maryland
I have a Burgman and my buddy just picked up a BMW after riding a Burg for 7 plus years. I rode the BMW fore only a few miles and it is so different. Specs are one thing but the riding experience is what it's all about for me. On the BMW, even though it's seat height is only about an inch higher, it feels like you're riding a few inches higher. The BMW has more of a scooter sound to it in my opinion. It's kinda similar to my old Burgman 400 where it kinda winds up as it's accelerating. The engine/exhaust has more of a throaty sound/feel-kinda like a Ducati. Whereas the Burgman has a smooth and refined sound/feel to it. The Burgman doesn't have that wind-up sound as you accelerate off the line. I like the way the BMW looks from behind but like the Burgman better from the front. They are both comfortable but the Burgman feels more planted on the ground and feels better for longer distances. The BMW is a bit more sporty though.
I have a Burgman 650 Exc. 2010 since 2 months. It is my second Burgman. The first was from 2005 and that was a bad machine. Not knowing the problems with the cvt. Since then I have had the T Max 500 and that is a great machine. I did not like the sound of the engine and it is underpowered. After that I had a Honda cbf 1000 for a while and fast as it is I eventually went back to the motorscooter. It is so much easier riding and less tiring. The Burgman with 27000 km that I now have is totally different than the old model. I immediately let replace the infamous shaft stopper bolt! ( every 6000 km)...And I heard that the cvt is now much better though the real solution is the 2013 model. But that is still too expensive.. It is just fantastic to ride on it. Very comfortable easy to handle though it is a very heavy machine 277 kg and the 7 speed gearbox cvt is fantastic. You don not notice a thing! I don't get tired after a long trip and it has a lot of power. The engine is very quiet and economical 1:20.. I just love her! I tried the BMW 650 but I was very disappointed. Though it is a very fast machine and more sporty than the Burgman who is rather sluggish I felt a lot of vibration from the 2 cylinders. So not my choice.
An excellent review, thank you very much especially for the captions in English. I have a Burgman 650 and I am very happy with it and was just curious how the newer one fared especially against the more sport type scooter. I enjoy the Burger for its comfort and great handling as I really only use it when I leave my town on journeys over 100km. It is the best bike I have ever had out of 4 previous scooters and bikes.
Why don't scooter/motorcycle manufacturers put the high/low beams on top of one another instead of to the left and right of each other? It kinda makes the bike look shoddier when it appears that one headlight is out...
Thanks for your kind comment, we will translate this video in the near future, but at least you can watch the video of the Burgman 650 on our page, we have an english sub for it. : )
Another thing I like about the Burgy is that it has *both headlights on* which promote better visbility. The Beamer's configuration mirrors many sport bikes these days, and although it saves money by not having two Dim/High lamps, it doesn't do much in the way of enhancing visibility, which the Burgman does hands-down with both headlights, and front LED awareness light, running at the same time! Again, Burgman wins! :-)
I don't think we will do sub in spanish yet sorry. Except if someone is ready to do it ? :) But at least little by little we are doing it in english ! :)
they should have mentionned that the Burgman has an Overdrive which can only by reached in manual way. .....and save a lot of fuel on highways and long journey !!!
My Rosetta Stone came in handy......then I found out there were subtitles, so I watch again to make sure what I thought was said, was actually said. I was close lol
Est-ce que vous pouvez re-faire un comparatif avec les modèles 2020 - 2021. Ici au Canada la liste des maxi-scooter est très courte. On y voit principalement des BMW et Suzuki. Les Kymco et Yamaha sont principalement des importation.
I don't agree when he says that the manual gear is not usefull. I only use automatic on urban areas and manual on the freeways or traveling, this is because I can save considerable more fuel on manual then in auto.
I disagree. They say that the Burgman has the smoother engine and is made for distance driving with comfort and that the BMW is more sporty and with an engine that vibrates more so they can detect the acceleration better on the highway. Also they rated passenger comfort on the Burgie as superior with the sole exception of the passenger seat-heating control on the BMW. Having ridden both bikes the one thing I noticed is that my lower legs felt more exposed to wind on the BMW than on the Suzuki.
A bon entendeur.... SUSPENSIONS and SHOCKERS Burgman CATASTROPHIC? !!!! I bought the new nouveau Burgman Executive 650 thinking it was confortable. After 2 years, 12000km, and 10s of sessions with my physio therapist, I can tell you there is a real problem with the suspension and the Shockers that Susuki oesn't want to solve, since I hear (from the resellers themselves) that iti is a wall known issue for the Mega scooter and for Suzuki. They only suggest to change the Shockers for anextra 2000 euros !!!! When you drive the front weel jums on the road if it is bumpy, and make the breaking dangerous. Outrageous. Suzuki must do something and I really don't recommend this sooter to anyone.
