Re-Revisiting the filming locations of Spielbergs first movie - DUEL.
I went back and captured more footage and more locations. I've also added more side by side comparisons to make it more obvious (per the comments).
There are also some added easter eggs among the new footage.
Side note: This video (as well as the previous) is NOT monetized so it's not me adding the ad's.
99% of all the shots are in Acton, California on Soledad Canyon Road and the Sierra Highway.
David starts in Toluca Lake, CA - drives to downtown Los Angeles (presumably to the office) then out to Santa Clarita to see Forbes - so he doesn't lose the account.
His day does not go as planned.

Thanks so much for this video! I picked this movie up as a kid from those old BMG Columbia house catalogs not knowing anything about this movie!! Ended up watching it a hundred times and getting a friend hooked on it too..Running around asking people for a swiss cheese on rye R-Y-E and you cant beat me on the Grade!! Please..Please..We actually printed out copies of the movie cover with the close-up of Dennis Weaver and posted them Around town lol..ahh Good Times

Question: Are the hills greener than in 1972 purely because of the time of year your contemporary footage was taken...or has there been a change in the climate / vegetation? I thought California was getting drier?

It's quite a bit greener now. BUT - it really depends on the season - I adjusted the color in the newer footage to make it match a little better. Also - the OG film was was graded as well to make it more desert/desolate. You could drive this path (it's 20 miles in a circle) in May and its REALLY green - and go back in Sept and it's much more dull and desert like. Also my footage is a combo of gopro/iphone so it's a little "off" in terms of camera lenses from the original film.

I was there back in April at the railroad track scene where he’s getting pushed. For whatever reason I can’t seem to figure out exactly where it was at, the roads don’t really add up. I feel like the pushing scene happened coming out of that campground.

Yeah, in this video @ 11:05 - I'm pretty sure that's the correct crossing - but after the train clears - I think it could be a different crossing. That sequence was added after the original filming to pad time for a theatrical release so it's entirely possible it's two locations.

It would have been great if you could have put the coordinates for each scene or its geographic location. Been on those roads before, but most of these spots I don't notice when driving

The spot where the car nearly gets pushed in front of the train is in front of what is now "Thousand Trails" campground in Acton.

That is NOT the radiator hose road at 19:46. Godde Hill Road was used for the summit scene and it was/is off of Elizabeth Lake Road, not Soledad Canyon Road.
