Oh man, its been ages since I've covered a Bobby Prince tune, and even longer since I did a Duke Nukem track!
I want to thank those of you that voted Duke into 5th place during COVER BATTLEGROUNDS II! I also want to give a shout out to Raees Kamaar, Gaia 74, and LegalShade for requesting/nominating this great track!
This time I felt like having a bit of a throwback to "2015-DAR" by using the blue, glowy effect for the video. I also tweaked my guitar tone a little bit for this one (which also tried to imitate one of my old tones).
For once, I sort of decided to just really do my own thing with this one. I originally wanted to follow very closely to the original and to make it more synth heavy.
However, I decided to try messing around a bit on the guitar on this one.
As I worked on this one, I sort of felt like I was working on something from my HORIZONS album. Which was very fun for me, since HORIZONS was one of my favorite albums to have worked on!
I also got to throw in some clean guitar (with some rotary fx), which is something I don't think I've gotten to do since my Silent Hill 2 cover!
Then of course at 3:14, we have this channel's very own Mr. Bones stealing the show with a slow saxophone solo (rock on Bonesy)!
Normally, I would've thought that mixing heavy guitars and a saxophone would be very a weird combo. For some reason though, as I listened to this song, I just kept imagining a saxophone for that part. In the end, I think it came out sounding pretty nice!
I also got to use the "sparkly" synth that I originally made for my Magical Chase cover!
