Its a fact at this point that this is the king of underated games we should get a remaster or some type of mod that fixes all the problems of the original like a rom hack of the game that is better but this game is more slept on than an MGK album so i don't know we might never see this game in a more superior state

I agree with the first part, vehemently disagree with the second. It’s a fun game for what it is: a sort, kinda, Tomb Raider clone with a lot more shooting and a lot less platforming. But masterpiece? Ehhhhh, that’s a stretch. Don’t get me wrong, I really liked this game back in the day. Always felt it was one of the better M-rated games on the N64. But it has SERIOUS problems. Lots of moments where there is no action going on. Funky controls (though that tended to be true on a lot of N64 games). Uneven difficulty spikes. I’d still put it in a top 25 N64 games but that’s not saying much.

@@leeartlee915 Growing up I thought 64 was crap outside of 10-12 games. Sure these were some of the best games of all time... but not enough to stand up to PS1. Fast forward to 2023.... I still own that PS1. I still got the Saturn. Now I have an N64 with 60 or so games and counting. Found a really good source for high quality repros. 50 of my games are original. But am done paying original game prices. So these repros are a godsend. That being said...... I realize now just how underrated 64 was. It's honestly in my eyes the king of wrestling and FPS games. Anything Rare touches is also pure gold in this era. Every game they did was a masterpiece. Ocarina of Time is one of the greatest games ever made. Goldeneye too. There are new 007 games now like The Spy Who Loved Me, Tomorrow Never Dies and GoldFinger. Crazy how a console I didn't pay much attention to then has my attention now the way it does.... Conkers Bad Fur Day always looked stupid to me so I never played it. Same with Banjo Kazooie.. I was too busy playing Final Fantasy 6-9, Silent Hill, Resident Evil 1-3, Gran Turismo and Metal Gear to care. Now I love Conkers and Banjo Kazooie. Now Gameboy games are coming out on 64 carts... I got Pokémon blue😂 Its rad. That generation of gaming was the absolute best. PS1, Saturn, N64.... and Dreamcast coming in at the end to get the year long jump on PS2. I dont know why I'm playing so much 64 these days.... my PS5 is collecting dust. I've always played PS1 and Saturn...but never 64 like this outside of the short list of main games.

This was one of my favorite Duke Nukem games, and couldn't believe how long these levels were for an N64 game especially. A few of them took me over an hour to get through before memorizing their level designs.

If one plays the game long enough, you may notice this: when you have dual revolvers (from the Wild West portion of the game), and you need to reload them, there's a chance that, for some reason, Duke grabs his crotch like Michael Jackson. I think it has something to do with how you're running, though.

Shit, I used to the play the shit out of this game when I was younger. I remember having no controller pack so we couldn’t save but that didn’t seem to bother me at all. I just restarted over and over again LMAO never did get to the end though, sadly. I barely even remember what the conflict and story to this game was bdkshsjdnf This, Perfect Dark and Golden Eye were tied as my favorite N64 games. Man, I wanna play this game again, now. Edit: now that I’ve started to watch the play-through I am 1, overwhelmed with intense nostalgia and 2, reminded of what the story was and now I remember everything clearly.

We didn't have controller pak either. Sometimes me and my brothers played couple of missions just to unlock new multi-player characters and then played deathmatch together. This was our #1 multi-player shooter game back in the day. So we never finished the game then and this playthrough was my first time actually completing the game. Even if you had a controller pak, the game saved only between missions so it wasn't exactly an easy game because the missions were so long :D (fortunately if you use an emulator you can save at any point) Duke Nukem: Zero Hour is totally worth playing even today. I never owned Goldeneye or Perfect Dark back in those days. I'm happy this video gave you nostalgia, thank you for your comment and have a good day :)

I remember when this came out in 1999 i was about 11 years old..my oldest brother (think he was 17 at the time ) barrowed this from his freind, and woudlnt let me and my older brother (was 15 at the time ) play it..so we asked our dad to rent it for us, and it kicked ass.

I'm just going to say based off of this that Duke Nukem and Medievil take place in the same universe; Duke killed the ripper, the professor saw the time machine and took its idea, Lord Palethorn resurrected the Ripper (who seems supernatural almost as a person, so it makes sense he'd be what he turned into in Medievil II) and then Dan shows up in the time machine that was based off of Dukes to begin with, to once again rip him a new one.

I was way too young to play this as well back in the day this was new. My older brother borrowed the game from his classmate and it's still on my shelve. We did ask if he wants the game back but he said ''you can keep it, it's fine'' I don't think he even has a Nintendo 64 anymore :D

It is very interesting to read this as I too as a child feared this game deeply. I played it a lot but always had this feeling as if I were being watched. The nuclear winter with the zombies specifically gives me the chills. It just feels so open and endless.

I remember a friend had this and I watched him play. Was at least impressed by the graphics back then. Today... Not so much and it doesn't look that fun tbh... Likely won't stop me from trying it on emulation when I have the time. Cool to see a game I had almost erased from my own memory running.

This game is brutal with n o saving, you can play 1 hour and die and you need to restart level lol. Wow. Don't think it will take 20 to 30 hours... That's a stretch. Maybe 10 to 15 hours max.

I completed Duke Nukem: Zero Hour by defeating alien 👽 enemies around the world 🌎 🌍 and save a bunch of vanilla(white)chicks and crushed the enemy’s competition and defeating Zero in NYC and Duke’s statue for defeating enemies and I did that without failing a mission objective and that’s good times I have with this game. 👍
