You are either a genius, mighty fortunate, or both. I appreciate your drive through Duluth, Georgia, during one of the times the flags and crosses are on display for the veterans. It’s quite precious that the whole community takes part in these semiannual observances and lovely that anyone can apply to display a flag and cross in honor of her or his loved one. I truly enjoyed your tour; you gave us many different facets of this elegant small town as it deals with its newfound suburban role.
Nice drive, wish you would have also gone up Peachtree Industrial North to show all the new housing developments and the dog park. Thanks for showing our city.
Used to live there in early 80’s, went to middle(bldg you passed on your left wen you turned left in downtown area) and high school there. It is a much different place from that time. Totally transformed from what it was and is expensive to live there now. Joan glancy was the hospital and nothing much to do in town. Winn Dixie and reed drugs shopping strip where all high end condos are now as you crossed over railroad tracks and over Buford hey ((all to right used to be shopping plaza. Has a high portion of population that are Korean so you can’t throw a rock without hitting either Korean restaurant or business. Gwinnett place mall was bustling in 80’s now it’s dead and buried. Ah the memories 😀
@@MileageMikeTravels yes sir shopping strips and shopping centers all around duluth. Lots of Korean churches some big some small. They are usually pretty well off money wise. It was really great to see you drive through my old stomping grounds. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Check out the 1977 movie Smokey and the Bandit. A lot of the scenes were filmed in the Atlanta suburbs. A lot of the roads still basically look the same.
Duluth is a quaint town in NE metro. However, after 16 yrs here, I am ready to head out of dodge. The traffic is atrocious! Southern hospitality does not exist here.
Dang.why so many crosses.everywhere you went!.whatever thier for.couldnt have been good.so sad!.what,s the world coming to.makes me scared to even go anywhere on my bike!.scared for my guy.anytime he has to go anywhere.people n thier damn guns!!.sick of it!.r.i.p to all the victims of all the shootings.weve had it here too!.🙏🙏🙏😢😢😢
I live in Duluth, we are a "Flag City, USA" The crosses with the flags are placed out from Memorial Day to Flag Day each year to honor US Veterans. Anyone can have one posted for someone who served. They list the name and arena they served in. They are also placed out in November for Veterans Day.
@@os3734- those are some fine traditions of a community: to honor those who served our nation and gave their all. Memorial Day to Flag Day and Veterans Day as well are such appropriate times to remember them and, if anything, are not long enough to say thank you. Thank you for stepping into Mileage Mike’s excellent video and explaining this lovely tradition.
