The Dulux Let’s Colour initiative brings communities together through the power of paint. With our partner Volunteer It Yourself (VIY) we help young people to learn trade skills whilst transforming community properties - something we are extremely passionate about here at Dulux.
In February, the team got together to help renovate the iconic live music venue The Dublin Castle in Camden - where the likes of Coldplay, Oasis, Madness and Amy Winehouse have all played at some point in their successful careers (and even served behind the bar at times…). The youth members were on site with qualified trade mentors helping them to build skills and confidence to gain employment.
Skills mentor, Alan Dalton, describes how impactful these projects are: “We have noticed working with these young people on these projects supported by Dulux, that many go away with a can do attitude. They feel accomplished and ready to get involved with the places that they have helped renovate.”
