Alright let's get after some shoulders using dumbbells only!
So it was time for me to hit shoulders again and just like always this past week I was experimenting with a few of these movements and there's no doubt they worked. From my last poll it seems 60% of people are training at home with limited equipment but you can still get the job done there so get after it!

The variation of dumbbells is extremely useful for a small person like me ru-vid.comUgkxP26Tir6n60vUkdtn4mbwhRO8cwuJQNy2 But the dumbbell size being large it's hard to do certain exercises like deadlift ( I have to have my hands and legs a bit wider to accommodate the size of the DB )Otherwise happy with the purchase. No excuse not to lift weight when it's snowing outside.

In short,the mind muscle is where you can feel your muscle all through the movement....it is just not throwing weight around,it is about the muscle contraction..that is what makes u grow

I've got a video idea for you. Many people are at home with limited equipment, the home I spend the most time in has 18wheels. I need some exercises that do not put me on the ground (why is that you ask?) Next time your out and about. Stop into a truckstop during the heat of summer and take a whiff... Yes... That is piss you smell in the parking lot. I need to add a foldable bench and those portable squat stands ( you know the ones you hope not to die underneath) but other than that I'm pretty limited for space. So.. What say you to a jailhouse routine limited to an Olympic bar and a landmine attachment. And a few resistance bands. While your at the truckstop smelling piss and unwashed balls be sure and catch a glimpse of how much a 400lb person can rock a truck made to haul 70klbs. Just so you'll know where my motivation comes from. And as you mentioned in another video... TRT has given me a new lease on life.

I’ve been lifting for like 16 years....so I’ve seen a lot of RU-vid fitness channels.....it’s easy by now to now who’s worth watching and who to skip....but Ryan is my favorite....and my whole life everyone’s said I have a sick dry sense of humor.....and I finally know what they mean, another reason this is my favorite channel, I love his sense of humor lol

i am 30 and have been lifting since 15 years but i can tell you if you say others are not worth it then you are very wrong. take good advices from everyone rectify them try them out and then decide if you want to incorporate them into your routine. 😓

Quick question, if I do sessions like this to build muscle 5-6 days a week and do HIIT/Cardio workouts each evening while eating at a slight calorie increase will I build lean muscle while burning fat? My body type is between lean and skinny fat, 6ft 1in 175lbs. I have an outline of my abs at times and other times you can't see them. My face is slightly chubby along with my chin. I've heard a lot of people say it's hard to lose fat and build muscle at the same time, but I'm just wondering what happens if I stick to this routine.

@@MrTas44 Jeff tends to always say how to do things and, for him, there is only one way to do an exercise correctly. He is more focused on injury prevention. Ryan is a guy who likes to twist every exercise to have a better connection with the muscle. For me, Ryan's formula works better.

He is definitely telling the truth which most folks thinks is being rude but they can go back to the nice channels. I have gained so much knowledge and have done fact checks and have not found anything to be false. This guy has helped me get back into shape with his consistency and changing my boring workouts so I know hate them but I hate missing them more. Thanks Ryan!

He uses a Rode Lavalier mic. If you zoom way in you can read the label on some of his videos. Rode also has good shotgun mics depending on how you want to record!

BARTENDERS: Be careful with the last exercise. I'm recovering from a L Shoulder Impingement and I believe it was from the last exercise here I over did it. We are locked in Pronation of our arms and forward shoulder posture all day (grabbing bottles and pouring drinks) so make sure you're doing rotator cuff exercises (and others) to strengthen the other side.

@@rohanramgude7874 For the most part Yes - it wasn't until I did 'Kinstretch' and their shoulder mobilit workout (abduction and adduction I believe) till it REALLY really recovered. Most of the time I don't even notice it if it's there, and can hang a good amount

Holy guacamole! All four exercises, four sets, all to failure except the presses that Ryan said to do 20 reps for each position. I could barely lift my water bottle to take a sip by the end.

I'm a year and 2 months removed from Labrum and RC surgery. Before the tear(s) I was lifting 5-6 times a week and in great shape. Since my surgery, I haven't been back to the gym. I don't fully trust my shoulder yet but it's probably back to the best it will get with time and PT. Would you recommend these workouts to someone with 85+% recovery looking to get back into a regular lifting routine?

I’m 54 and I’ve had both shoulders replaced (and both hips) in the last 6 years all from lifelong RA (rheumatoid arthritis)…and I’m still the proverbial jacked…and with my disease and all the hell it gives me, damn proud of it. The only thing is…if you’ve got replaced shoulders…I caution you from doing incline presses of any kind. It torques your artificial shoulder too much for the limitation of the artificial joint. So why do I bring this up in a shoulder vid? Because I was doing incline barbell bench and tore my R rotator cuff. Artificial shoulders are more susceptible to torn RC’s…but if you’re in good shape, you won’t need the typical yank the traditional artificial shoulder out and replace it with a reverse (where the ball is on top and the glenoid is now below, at the top of the humerus). An upper extremity specialist is going to simply surgically repair the tear. Anyway…shoulder replaced? No incline bench anything for chest and really…avoid flat barbell bench as well. Use dumbbells to keep the natural positioning and movement intact. Anyway…back to you, Ryan…

After each shoulder press exercise I experience pain in my shoulder. Not at the moment that I’m lifting, I’ve got no loss of strength, but approximately 12 to 24 hours after the training BAM it’s there and puts me out of the running. What is it? Small tear? Inflamed? Rotator cuff? It’s not red, it’s not swole, there is no pain when I rub or touch it. Anyone?

Why a suppinated dumbbell shoulder press is so incredibly heavy is beyond my understanding lol,,,, I use 40lbs dumbbells for my regular shoulder presses and yeah naw I'm not using those 40's with the supinated version lmfao,,,,,, makes me feel weak but with shoulders ego can not play a part in those excersises because they are pretty much your whole core upper body muscle group that affects everything else negative or positive,,,, it's like that for me anyway,,,,, I can't curl right with a injured shoulder for you folks out there needing an example

🥶I guys need to ask you this. Ryan is the only person that supports very very high rep sets. I have read so many things about keeping a rep range of 10-15 for hypertrophy. How with 60 reps per set are we promoting growth ? I do not understand . What Ryan shows us is meant for high end bodybuilders or people being 6 months lifting ? Would love some clarification .

Hey Ryan, my shoulders are really lacking. I can lift heavy for reps but I can never put size on them. I’ve started to practice static shoulder depression on dips, do you think that’s the right way to go about it? Also when I wake up my traps are all kinda fucked. Super tight

Hey! Love your vids... I just got back into the gym a month ago. I was a heavy lifter back in the day (I'm 46 now). I was huge and didn't have a care in the world how hard I went. Time passes, got married, had kids and finally got motivated after a 15 year lull. I'm fortunate enough that I still have the frame and muscle memory. However, my left rotator cuff pinches and is sore which impedes me going heavy on certain exercises, specifically shoulders. I don't believe I have a tear. Can you recommend an exercise that could heal or help? I bought some resistance bands as I saw physiotherapy vids on YT. Thanks!

My biggest problem with shoulders is a weird ass weakness I have in my left shoulder; I’ve never injured it and my size is roughly the same but I constantly go weak in the left. It feels like it’s at the base of my middle delt but I do so many freakin’ lateral raises it’s ridiculous. What can I do?

It depends on what the issue is, you may have an underlying tightness in a muscle group - hams or back, or anterior pelvic tilt also means you won't be able to touch your toes without sorting those first. Go see a chiropractor, they should be able to figure out where your issue lies.

I've had 3 rotator cuff surgeries,2 one one shoulder and one on the other...what's the safest and most effective shoulder exercises I can perform,obviously no straight bar or behind the head movements?

I will say this and its in no way intended to put down Ryan or his work outs, but, I have seen quite a few videos and while Ryan does have size, I don't see any muscle maturity and I believe that's because he prefers all these work out with light weights. He has already stated he doesn't like to do traditional heavy weights repetition exercises, without which you cannot achieve muscle maturity, which is not achieved by diet. So while he has muscle mass, it always looks soft even when he is training. While Seth Feorce is chemically enhanced, his training is simple and heavy and is what you would want to do at least once a week before following Ryan's workouts.

People focus on the lighter weight but forget that in order to continue to be challenging that weight will go up! Imagine doing these with 35's or 45's! Not for lightweights! You will puke.
