In my city in Canada we have a day every Autumn to give things away to students as we are a University city. You can put anything out out, furniture, dishes etc that will help out of province or local students. I think it’s wonderful.

My amaryllis plants live indoors on the window sills during our long northern winters but during the summer I put the pots outside again. They usually grow exceedingly well & flower every year. Occasionally they will decide that it's time to "hibernate" and seem to die off. However, don't despair, let them rest for a few months then start watering them again, and they will reward you with more blooms. Some of my plants must be at least 10 years old by now and have produced offspring! Good luck with yours!

Love the stuff! Here in Berlin we have free boxes all over many neighborhoods. I found a great teardrop-shape midcentury modern mirror last year, and also found a classic, working 1960s electric coffee grinder several years ago. People also leave huge wardrobes and sofas, but of course you need a van to move them and most people don't just happen to be passing with such modes of transport. I know a guy who upcycles old chairs he finds on the street, and he picks them up with his cargo bike.

Which is household items, TV's furniture , washers/dryers dishes anything you don't want put it on the curb. People come by go thru it and take what they want what's left the city takes and disposes of it.

I lived in Germany and they have a dry rubbish collection day a couple of times a year, and people would just help themselves, you would find settees, cupboards etc all pilled in one designated area, I have seen a schrank ( a very large german cupboard made of wood) put out for collection, you would need a furniture removal van to take it home. Got quite a few treasures and its a pity they didn't have them over here, might solve the fly tipping problem. xx

Great coasters--You can probably sand off the metallic trim but if you like it (I do), you can fix the chips with metal leaf and size., or even change the color to gold or silver. Your amyrillis shoud be kept inside (away from the kitties!) and once it starts to grow, you will see it get taller daily. It should grow to about 18-24" tall and have the most beautiful trumpet shaped flowers. Once it has finished blooming, cut the stalk and feed it. It can go outside over the summer but bring it in about September, cut off the leaves and put it in a dark cupboard until Christmas then start it all over again!

Hi Mr. C! How interesting to see what you can find in other peoples dumpsters. Just goes to show ones trash is other peoples treasure right? Have you watched some dumpster diving videos in the U.S.? It's absolutely mind boggling what they find in the dumpsters of some pretty popular stores. Most are brand new, unused, not opened, &/or not even expired yet if it's food. Here in our neighborhood we have junk collection day once a month where folks put unwanted items outside their homes for collection. You definitely could grab things that catch your eye if you can beat the dump truck getting it. Thanks for sharing. Much love from Fort Worth, Texas! 😊❄☃️

Hello Iwan, ooh lots of free finds! Free is my fave price of all! I think lockdown opened up people's eyes with clearing out and began to put stuff out for free as they had no other way of getting rid of stuff. I had a sort out last year and put loads out, that most of it went. I live in a smalll village in Somerset and it seems to be a thing here too now! Metal poles by the way, Homebase or B&Q for future reference. That poor Amaryllis, it will have a new lease of life now and will reward you with a beautiful flower in no time I'm sure. There's that massive hoop again! I love that, be useful too if you were painting or drawing something on a tee shirt too! Think that metal plate is mostlikely pewter, That kitchen table/island thing will look great once given some TLC, a rub down and a wax or paint be great I think, that was a great find. Thanks for this Vloggy was most interesting, one mans rubbish has always been another mans treasure! Have a good week to come x
