@@zombiekid16 You can overdose on anything but ketamine does not cause cardiovascular and respiratory depression and is relatively physically safe. That's why it's still commonly used during anesthesia. (and now also for depression, et al.)
Look up "LD50 Rate" and whatever substance you wanna know. The LD50 rate means Lethal Dose rate, water can kill you, if you drink it fast enough. 2 gallons in an hour will shut down your kidneys etc
Duncan can't talk war stories with steveo. Thags like a chad trying to compare to a veteran of deadhead. He can't tell a story after Steven without sounding like a pushy
Sorry. My texting skills were weak after then basically. Duncans stories don't hold a candle to Steve o. It would be like a 1st grader trying g to keep up with a college track star in a run off. They're just in two different leagues.
@@biguprochester my buddy wagon stuck a Burger King straw directly into a 20 gram bag and took the biggest snort of k I’ve ever witnessed…. He within an hour was speaking backwards and sweating profusely
Ketamine used to make me feel so existential. The Matrix scene after Neo takes the red pill and wakes up in that pod is like the most similar thing I can think of what it was like.
@@KRiMEKiDSK get out whilst you can brother my friends are like this for 2 years now starting to get k cramps and piss in their blood now... I promise ya it ain;t worth the risk.... also tolerance with k is insane unless ya injecting the shit Idk how ya getting a buzz at that point most likely placebo from being dependant on it
@@elninodeoro167 who is to say you weren't? K is weird like that. It makes you question if the way you process our physical world is just its own odd experience.
@@hyperloopbeats the voice isn’t from drug use. He’s been like that forever. He’s going to a speech therapist to get it better. Basically he holds his voice too high up and was ever corrected on it, so it’s vibrating his vocal chords together in a really weird way. Honesty surprised he doesn’t have chronic nodes
@@jrichhaze and is it really "ever desired"? I mean I like to get high as much as the next person but feeling death, like literally the feeling of dying.. or what your mind perceives as the feeling of death, for what feels like hours.. is fucking hardcore.. dunno if I consider that "ever-desired"
I hadn’t done it in like 5 years or maybe more abs last summer I bought like $900 worth hahaha went on like a month bender 🤪🤪 it was good times…I probably won’t be touching it again for another few years hahah
It was a dumb question anyway. You can OD on literally any chemical substance. It would've been better if he had asked something like " what amount is someone likely to OD" since they were listing specific doses.
The eroding the barriers thing. I once had a crazy hard mushroom trip where I decided to take a bath to chill out. While in the tub, I reached a point in my mind where I felt like I could switch my brain off in that moment, and crossover to the other side, death. Not drowning in the water, dying by making that choice in my mind and departing, shedding my mortal coil. I was convinced this was how Jim Morrison died, because he died in the bath by unexplainable means. That was the heaviest trip I ever had. I was hearing music that wasn’t even there, but it was loud as fuck. The TV was talking to me. Every time a car drove by with loud music, I thought it was the same car each time. Looping the block over and over, waiting for me to come outside so they can kick my ass. I was having all these crazy epiphanies and conspiracy theories. So I decided to write something down for me to think about later. The next day I remembered about the note I wrote to my sober self on the cover of a High Times magazine. I found it just to see that there was only one word written down, “IT”. That was the profound note I wrote to my sober self to ponder over, think about “IT” 🤦♂️ LOL. 🤷♂️
I’m weak. I listen to The Doors and Jim Morrison’s poetry when I eat L or mushrooms so I definitely think about him a shit load when I’m tripping. Like I’m connecting with him through the barriers of life and death. He is very much alive through his music and poetry. Long Live the Lizard King
I had shooting up crystal for a few days , hadn’t slept in a week or so when a buddy of mine gave me a ml or 2 of liquid ket . I went and parked up by the ocean and shot it up . Looking over at the city lights across the harbour , incredible , wow I was so crazy growing up . I ain’t used any drugs for over 10 years now . Damn ket some wicked stuff.
The only out of body experience I’ve ever had was on k. Saw myself laying on the bed from the corner of the room, then swooped back into my body. It was amazing.
When I was 15... After smoking weed. being a new weed smoker, I was laying on the floor, floated above myself and back in my body as well. Saw myself laying there! it HAD to be laced with something! I could never ever recreate it. My friend there with me said I was just laying very still for a good 5 mins, saying nothing!.. insane feeling
@@jsb2277b yeah after a few weeks of heavy use when you go in to addiction territory, smoking weed just feels like smoking cigarettes. You feel the need to be high just because you aren't high, but because you are so used to being high, that you don't feel all the mind altering affects anymore and simply become a functioning weedhead. It is actually kind of depressing, but at least it gives you an opportunity to quit and come back later if you feel it is necessary.
I was on maximum amount of morphine and ketamine the hospital would give me for 3-4 days after I was in an explosion and burned over my body. The experiences I had are unbelievable and completely fucking warped my mind, even though I know it's "hallucinations" or "delusions" but I can't forget the experiences I had.
Same here I was given it in a shot jn my arm in the hospital and when I woke up I was in a crazy k-hole. I couldn’t move anything except my eyeballs and I thought I was in an alien spaceship being probed or something shit with all the lights and machines above me. It was nuts!
Same..Ketamine drip after having tailbone removed..I had been on opiates 15 years copious amounts of morphine and nothing compares to the ketamine they gave me..wow
@@mike7871 congrats on being off the opiates. I know how hard that is. I’ve never had a drip but the shot they gave me knocked me out in seconds and when I woke up I was in the craziest k hole I’ve ever experienced
@@tommyh3383 Thanks that means a lot..I was up to 200mg of morphine a day and every 6 mo they would switch me to methadone..it had been many years since I had any euphoria, drowsiness that sort of thing..I had to take that much to just feel normal..but the Ketamine was an entirely different ballgame, no opiate type euphoria but the disassociation was crazy and it changed my mood it made me a total dick for the couple days I was on it..I just never got the love that some people have for it.
One time I got so high on ketamine that I forgot I was ultra high on ketamine and fell into a k hole. Having forgotten that I was high on ketamine for a moment, I truly felt like I was dying. I freaked out for the slightest of moments. But suddenly a rush of acceptance engulfed me and I was at peace with my death and the life I had lead up to that point. Then I remembered I was just really fucking high on ketamine. This was all in the matter of like 10 seconds. Honestly one of the most beautiful experiences I've ever had.
That’s an ego death. It’s possible to experience that with many different substances and it usually has a lasting impact on ones perspective of life/afterlife and the general meaning of it all.
Back in the early 80s smoked angel dust went to go see my local college team basketball team here in Bridgeport ct and Manute Boi a 8 foot African guy was playing my friends and I. were freaking out we didn't think he was real crazy
Right there with you man! I'm 39, and Been off all Opioids for a little while now, losing weight, spending more time noticing how good life can be when you arent depressed or in constant pain. I'll make it, and so will you my dude.
Yes, it is. It was clear to me that Steve did not only wanted to binge on drugs for the sake of "fun". Others do, but it looked like, at some point, he was desperate to find "something else", some kind of "beyond" that he could perceive but not reach totally, so he kept trying to get to this spiritual reality where he could just be.
I've had all sorts of experiences snorting ketamine. Had been up for days, was sitting in my living room and i watched a guy come out of my kitchen, go stand on a rug between my coffee table and TV. He then started gliding out into my hallway like he was in a stop motion video. I moved so i could see his feet and the rug had turned into those big scarab beetles from The Mummy. Hundreds if not thousands of them and they were carrying him. Super weird.
@@meesterbingbong5641 there's a whole 50 minute interview with Duncan, this is just the ketamine part. On Steveos wild ride podcast, if you watch the whole interview, Duncan is kinda acting like the Shaman, it actually gets really deep towards the end. Kinda like a trip sitter.
I woke up from my hip replacement, and freaked out. I had no idea what was going on. My heart rate spiked, and I was breathing heavy. The head Anesthesiologist put 150 mg of Ketamine in my IV and it was a very cooling feeling then the nurse grabbed me and kicked me off the operating table. We floated down the darkest tunnel and then I woke up fuuuuuucked up!
I really want to hear more of these insane but extremely interesting ketamine experiences! Duncan Trussel is an equally interesting dude that I for the first time saw on "Stories from the Trip". Great clip!
Steve-O man ... ur soo damn smart. Love you're podcast. Watched u growing up in the days before RU-vid. And of course we all thought of you as badass. Addiction has been an influence in my life and love to see you like this and this new side of you ... love it man ! Hope to keep seeing it grow.
I have had to watch my 12 year old son be given Ketamine for the last 4 months to remove and replace a Supra pelvic foley it's terrifying for us but it helps him forget the pain of the procedure.
It depends how you mean help? I'd say with mushrooms you can talk to God or at least understand the bigger picture. With K you get to hang out with God and understand how the fabric of our reality is put together. Its almost like that twilight zone where the people woke up to early and there reality wasn't finished. You understand that your conscience is just in space/time and the molecules and atoms are simply what we persive but not the whole picture.
It definitely is uplifting but you gotta be careful because unlike mushrooms you can get caught up into it. It has a shorter half life so that means you can trip more often. I have seen it ruin lives and marriages.
@@chadlucier hm, i think its the opposite, with mushrooms and other common psychedelics, you are very susceptible to your mind and environment and it’s very easy to have a bad trip (especially for someone in a bad spot mentally). with K, there’s like no fear at all, you start perceiving things more as if you are watching your life happening and controlling yourself like a video game character or something. it didnt very have that effect that strong to me after the first few times. But it can be really helpful for stepping back and analyzing your situation from a more objective perspective
I've heard a lot of tripping stories, and they are very exciting, i would love to try magic mushrooms but I can't easily get some, Is there any realiable source I can purchase from??
I feel like nobody understands the mental fortitude it take to evens absorb these experiences. I’ve been through this shit and it takes months to come back from these experiences. Completely life altering.
My favorite experience I had was as a teenager, I took 2 hits of acid called Animation Creation, then started huffing a bunch of nitrous, did some cocaine, smoked a huge joint, drank a bunch of sloe gin and OJ and took a bunch of pain pills.... That was over an hour and a half of a wasting time so I didn't go in and out of the dudes house, so I left and started my journey home. Here's where it gets bad for a bit.... LoL 😂 I was walking along an old railway that didn't really have trains on it anymore so I thought I was OK and as I was walking I started noticing that the tracks were silently twisting, so I rubbed my eyes and when I opened them there was a picture frame floating in front of me and I looked around behind me and it was completely black except for inside the picture frame was the real world, it was about 7pm so it wasn't really dark outside. I remember thinking "I better get back over there before a train comes and I don't see it" so I was trying to grab the frame and climb in but as I reached for it, it moved back and when I walked towards it the twisting of the tracks moved it away from me.... I remember getting super depressed because I thought I died and this was purgatory, then I hear a train and when I look behind me I seen a train floating along quickly twisting in the blackness behind me and I could tell it was moving at me fast. I started running full speed towards the picture frame to catch it, and it went really far down the tracks, but when I finally got close enough it went off to the side of the railroad tracks and stopped, so I dove off the tracks down through it ... I jumped up completely terrified because I thought I almost got killed, looked around only to see there wasn't a train in either direction. I was trying to figure out WTF just happened and that's when I remembered "O Yeah, I took a lot of acid"... The rest of my walk home was spent in tears laughing at my hands because they looked like Mickey Mouse gloves. 🤣🤣
What Steve O said at around 4:00 and foward for a couple of minutes is spot on. Be careful what you open yourself up to because those barriers are there for a reason.
I had it once in an Ambulance...only 4mg of Special K... it was the purest joy and clarity I've ever experienced in my (at the time) 50 yrs of life. Purest Joy Ever.
@@natalybrookz202 Where in the comment did he say he went into the k-hole? Where did you get your numbers? Does the body weight have any effects on the amount needed? What ROA are we talking? Or is it the same dosage no matter the ROA?
You would feel exactly 0 effects from 4mg. A single line insufflated is around 30mg At 100mg/ml, they probably gave you atleast 50mg for pain, but probably higher to have any psychotropic effects you are explaining
@@johnjohnson1657 I'm sorry my dude but it's not correct. Even if he said that... It's definitely not the dose you had. There is no way to administer 4mg... Most solution is 100mg/ml solution, so he gave you 4% of a 1ml insulin type syringe? Nope
When people would ask me I'd say it's like wearing a pair of moon boots and sticking your head in a fish bowl and looking at yourself upside-down and through the water as you pass by.
I was able to tell what was going on in other rooms, other apartments, and other buildings during one K phase, and the only thing that I can come up with, to explain this is that every room, apartment and building are innervated with electrical wires. Wires are really everywhere
Ketamine makes me so humble and loving. It's the opposite of narcissism. I want to help people, tell people I love them, and meditate on peace and love. I never had a bad experience. I always set my intentions though. I listen to peaceful music and meditate at the beginning. It makes me a nicer person. I'm naturally an asshole. So much less after the Ket Therapy.
Had a very spiritual experience on K. Me and my buddy were back from an Excision show and down from Ms. Molly and dabbled into the K. We ended up giving each other light shows with gloves orbs etc.. We both felt like we were floating and for a second i thoght mt buddy was dead but he was just in a deep trance
Ketamine is incredibly fun. Never gone full catatonic on that shit before but I’ve definitely been high as hell on it. High stepping on the main dance floor of Club Therapy at 5AM in the heart of Olneyville, Providence, Rhode Island. Good stuff.
I snorted a full gram in two lines once. I started in my dining room and came to holding on to a tree by my garage with my neighbor's cat in the other hand. What I remember happened was I saw my conciseness get sucked into a black hole abyss that was sucking a billion other consciousness into it. Once the capacity of the black hole was filled with too much consciousness it exploded all of our consciousness across the universe like a gamma ray.
Wow that gave me a flash back if anything lmao And on the way up to that, the best I can describe it is in mildler doses it feels like a roller coaster that you can't quiet get ahead of. Once the effects start, you really feel like you're perminantly just one or two steps behind. No matter how hard you try to get ahead. By ahead I mean like your headspace or readyness or what ever imaginable. You just can't control how it goes. then what u said above happens but in a lesser extent. It's wild.
After snorting nearly 2 ozs now in the past 2 weeks yeah I like to do a gram in 2 lines in about half hour period it’s nice felt like I completed life the other night but I was just tripping 😂
I get ketamine infusions for chronic pain every few months, I get 800mg IV through a port and damn is it an experience every time. Best thing I ever did for my CRPS and PTSD though.
Ketamine can be really helpful to a person who struggles with mental health issues. It’s very uncommon for people to die from a ketamine overdose as well. And I also feel like everyone should try mushrooms once in their life.
Typical druggies getting defensive. I remember when I got sober I got made fun of by my old friends. They would call me sober Sean like it was an insult. They just weren't real friends.
I friend of mine once left a huuuuge white stripe on my plate, and i thought it was coke, snorted it all and jumped in the shower. 30 minutes later a friend found me crawling around the apartment naked and barely able to talk. Best day ever as soon as I got a hold of the friend who left it there in the first place
My friends had a frying pan in the back seat and half was coke half was ket n they told me which one was coke since I had never done ket & jump to a few mins later I feel like I’m in a balloon world and was like ummmmm guys….and they just go “oh shit that was the ket oops”….. and I just had to quickly accept it to avoid freaking tf out
Was at a rave with me best mate and did a rather high dosage of ketamine and we stepped through a portal and witnessed what looked like a past life living in some mountains. I say we bc he saw the same stuff as we recounted what happened later. Its a little scary stepping outside the body, but a profound experience none the less
Steve-O is surprisingly astute in his grasp of the spiritual aspects of drugs and addiction. Some drugs definitely open you up to evil influence. It's not demonic possession but rather demonic compulsion, especially when needles get involved in the party!!
I would describe the first time I k-holed like you’re in a blacked out room with tiny bits of light seeping in (which is your eyes barely open) you can hear everyone around you but you physically can’t respond. It was a fun experience but wouldn’t recommend to anyone. After about 45 minutes of pretty much paralysis, I vomited for 5 minutes and felt fine like nothing happened straight after.
I tried powder ketamine a few wks ago and I loved it I felt almost drunk but like I had taken ecstasy I loved everyone . I also was smoking crack at the same time lol. Does taking other drugs in on top of ketamine stop it from working properly? Because I'm seeing ppl talk about tripping while on ketamine I wasn't . I definitely plan to try it again very soon x
Was given Ketamine in the hospital after leaving the psych ward and it deadass just felt like good weed I asked my African doctor why we weren’t all black because humans originated there lmfaooo🤣
@@pleaseclap5210 yeah I’m aware I just was high and didn’t feel like dragging on anymore plus you were supposed to find the fact that I thought that to be funny lol
I vaguely remember hearing Steve o talk about eroding the barriers when i was doing nitrous, cocaine and lsd. I experienced the low frequency energy’s broke my tooth when i hit up a person that always gave me sinister vibes and heard a voice telling me to kill myself. Fun times. Almost a year sober
Not if it's a giant 5 day old constipated petrified log that feels like it's ripping your ass open while you're desperately trying to push it out so you don't have to go to the hospital and get it manually removed.
The fact that Steve O can have whole conversations about drugs he was addicted to and not relapse is absolutely remarkable and admirable. Dude is literally the voice of sobriety 🤘
One of the promises of recovery is cited on the tenth step. We will be immune to triggers if we have good reason to be interacting with them, such as our for our work. We recoil from the compound like a hot flame.
I was given it in a hospital, I literally went into the light above me. I met light particles and electrons, it felt like I went to whole concert. When I came back I felt awesome like nobody could hang with shit lol. So the narcissism is spot on. Considering I went there because I dislocated my knee playing football. Anyone else given ketamine in the hospital?
I was given ketamine after I broke my ankle and it was the worst most insane experience of my life so far. I felt time warp and it seemed like I was in the matrix but with walls and panels of moving flesh instead of digits. It felt like my soul and existence was getting exponentially compounded smaller and smaller until I simply didn't exist and I quite seriously thought I was dead.i have never felt so helpless. When I was coming out of the trip, I had a horrible panic attack and repeatedly told everyone in the operating room that I wanted to kill my abuser. It was awful and I don't understand how people take it recreationally or for PTSD and depression, but if it's effective for some people, good for them
You just had a bad trip. But you had wvery reason to because you had just gone through the trauma of breaking a bone. Then on top of that you’re in an anxiety inducing unfamiliar place surrounded by people you don’t even know… Add an extremely powerful psychedelic dissociative (like ketamine) to this experience and it’s honestly a no-brainer that you had a horrible time. If you took ketamine in a calm state of mind, in a comfortable setting, it would probably lead to a good trip. Simple as that.
What a fucking fascinating conversation!!! I've had many of these same thoughts. The barriers. What ppl call angels and demons the unexplained. But I never went as far as Steve O and I'm sure alot of people never have to its crazy to hear the stories of the person that dared to.go.further
Too bad Duncan couldn't get a word in edgewise. Steve has a lot of potential for really good interviews and conversations, but he keeps steamrolling everyone. The other downside is that most of his fans have heard a lot of the same stories that he steamrolls the guests with so not only do you not hear the guest's perspective but you hear the same story you heard 4 videos ago.
I'm getting ready to do a 450mg oral dose next week as part of a legal pharmaceutical therapy plan. 300 mg on my last two experiences was pretty powerful. K is an incredibly spiritual trip and allows you to access very deep levels of consciousness when combined with meditation. Medical research is showing that it has a measurable effect on the regeneration of neurons and building neural pathways.
Can you die from ketamine? Yes. An overdose on ketamine can cause a person’s respiration levels to be negatively disrupted, making it harder for the person to breath. Other signs of a ketamine overdose include: Nausea and/or vomiting Severe confusion Chest pain and irregular heart rate Paralysis Violence or terrors possibly related to hallucinations Seizures Extreme sedation or even loss of consciousness or coma Heightened blood pressure Ketamine overdose can be fatal, although death from ketamine poisoning alone is rare. Since paralysis is a side effect of ketamine use, if individuals start vomiting, they may be then choke on their vomit. Accidents and injuries related to the dissociative effects may also result in injuries and life-threatening consequences.
No. Ketamine does not affect the respitory system. Best drug to use in emergencies...i.e youve been squished between 2 cars and legs are crushed bht perfectly concious. Medics can give you ketamine off the bat without waiting for you to tell them if how your heart/lungs are. (12.5g (quarter liter in uk)a day habit with pacemaker for 3 years)
when I would snort it, if I did too much I experienced the upside downs. I couldn't walk or talk but I saw myself drooling on myself leaning over when I thought I was good lol. I loved it just like Steve-O & I'm 2 years clean now
When I dislocated my knee. They put me on ketamine to reset it. They counted down from 3 and by 2 everything went white and It felt like I was yanked into another dimension. I was talking to God and God was a pile of diamonds and gold.
I like it in the dark, laid back, just hovering above lovecraftian cities. Getting lifted through dystopic worlds before falling through foamy clouds just to wait for the next elevator.
Agree with what steve O says, I use to snort coke & sip Monster drinks & yes I felt a spirit that made me do crazy stunts on my motorcycle in the freeway
