Aah, memories... grew up in Carberry, left in 87 for pastures far away. Spent ages up there. As far as I knew Jag, it was called Tarzans Island (Tarzies) because once you got down the banking from behind Carberry Crescent, pretty much all of the trees had rope swings hanging from them, some with an old tyre on the end, some with just a big knot, we'd swing out over the burn and back as far up the bank as we could to stab an old knife in the ground. Next kid would have to swing out, back up the bank, grab knife, swing out again, back in again and try to stab the knife in higher up the bank than the previous kid... if you didnae get enough swing, you sorta stopped over the burn... wet feet time.. not been back up there for over 20 years, will have to take a wander up before the arthritis says no.. .
Note to self, when you see a notice board map, take a snap with your phone camera,so when you get lost you will know roughly where you are,LOL great video Jag,never been to that area myself
thanx jag..you found it at the pylon..we used to go there as you say and play, plunk,,i got cought plunking at tarzies because the gym teacher decided to have cross country,,nabbed, also local story says that jim..or james forrester had his head chopped off,and when this happened his head went rolling down the south of the mound screeming..even after it had been chopped off, this can still be heard today on november 13th each year,,
