A.I. Art is such a LEAP! in perception! 30 second sniff at a photo or picture, and these A.I. art generators can absolutely mind bend the image to a different dimension. I can almost smell these pictures, how real they look. Like pulled from somewhere else in the Universe.

Giger such an underestimated artist, simply jawdropping gorgeous art. Honestly Dune should be exactly like hes style.

Now THAT is a Dune movie I would watch over and over and over and over and over again!!!!

The world needs more big budget Giger inspired sci-fi to fuel the imagination

Since the Dune universe includes space dominatrices, the HR Geiger designs should be worked into the new movies once the audience buys in more with Part 2.

Does anybody remember H.R. Giger concept art for Alejandro Jodorowsky’s buried ‘Dune’ project. Seeing this does give you an idea of what it could have looked like if it was made using H.R. Giger's art.

years ago I got the H.R. Giger exhibition and was very impressed. The paintings have an incredibly somber and possessive presence.

I have been to the Giger Museum and Giger Bar in Gruyeres Switzerland several times. I have read Dune more times than I can recall and seen all the versions which have been made. Thank go Giger and Jodorowski did not realize their Dune. One can only endure so much acid, penis heads and vagina guillotines.

This is so amazing. Just incredible that the A.I. can emulate a style like this in probably seconds. Imagine all that could have been done with movies, music, etc., if we had this technology years ago.

Quite possibly the best thing I've seen in a long while. It feels WAY scarier and, well, ...alien, than Dune did. Can never get enough of this kind of art. Do some other movies like The Thing. Or maybe redo some scenes of the protomolecule from The Expanse.

This is how I always imagined Dune from the books. It takes place so far in the future that our planet, earth, is only a destroyed and forgotten myth lost in time amid massive universal wars with AI. Various parts of humanity have already, long ago, re-engineered themselves, like the Tleilaxu. Even now, on this current planet, the human genome mutates by 2% every 1k years. That far in the future, there would be vast differences through speciation.

This version of dune looks visually stunning and way more creative 😍 wow 👌

Seriously, the AIs are getting the spirit of biomechanical design applications and even a bit of fractal patterns like no artist before (thanks to the artists that came before it) You ask it to mix these designs it gets a whole new form of art.

Étant un grand fan de dune je dois dire que là je reste sur le cul c'est magnifique s'ils avaient pu faire le film avec ce genre de style saurait été peut-être un peu trop loin pour certains publics mais bon Dieu que c'est magnifique c'est sublime je n'imagine même pas ce que ça aurait pu donner au cinéma avec de tels look incroyable

Personal opinion that David Lynch version got almost everything right at the first go

Really impressive, though kind of over the top with the super elaborate Giger style costume and set design and creature designs. Can you imagine the budget for a movie like this, and back in the time Giger was alive? It might even break the investors' banks in Villeneuve's present time. If it could have been made this way though, I sure would have gone to see it.

I watched the most recent video first. Watching this video confirms what I thought (and commented) in the other case. 😸 I can only repeat myself: It has a certain effect to see the images in both videos. It makes me simply wonder 'what if ...' In any case It is an amazing work 👍🙀

Well, there is one faction in Dune that fits Giger's artistic style perfectly. The Bene Tleilax.

This is actually a potent and well fitting combination, like peanut butter and chocolate. It goes together quite well. Some of those are really effective and scary designs that I wouldn't mind looking to as a reference and inspiration for art. PS Ya know Gigan from Godzilla? The bird cyclops with hooks for arms? Imagine doing that HR Giger style. HR Gigan.

Since Dune happens 10,000+ years in the future, a lot of these details look plausible...not the skull & bones stuff, but the texturing and some of the costuming designs. I'd like to see Lynch's "floating fat man" Baron. That makeup was near-Giger to begin with.

Image generation models are tools that make parallel universes visible. Because you can see any number of pictures that weren't drawn. What I'm really looking forward to is the emergence of generative models for videos! With it, you can watch as many unmade movies as you want, and you can turn your favorite sci-fi novels into movies!

Really wish they went with designs like this or similar. I like the new Dune but I didn't like the Brutalist, Minimalist design. It didn't feel 10,000 years in the future far out in the Cosmos.

Some people say that the diffusion model is just a combination of past works and has no real creativity. It is clear that it is wrong. In the first place, aren't humans also creating in the same way as the diffusion model?
