Thank God you're here to post a comment captain obvious. If only I had you with me every time it was raining so I knew what was going on. Jesus Christ on a cupcake.
@@andreageisler3999 Look at these other clown ass comments that can't possibly be real. But then again the downfall of society has already started so they probably are.
I'm absolutely going to watch it. That being said, it'll have the same big hurtle as the original dune book. Great story, great lore, but how much can you translate into a show or a movie?
Yes true, they use to say that dune novel is unfilmable you can't put the complex large scale story into a movie but Denis V. Proved it wrong as he done spectacle of a grand movie . As a series it should be easier as you have episodes and a lengthier way to work , it's possible it depends in budget and production talent
The new movies are phenomenal, but TV format is best to take their time and tell the full story. This snippet of the dune universe is a small piece of a book Frank's son wrote based off the manuscripts of Frank's that were found after his death. The book this series is based from is called Sisterhood of Dune.
So i see a few ways they can expand on the Dune universe. Have the important books be theater releases while focusing on the lore and history in tv series. Prophecy is perfect as a tv series. They could also do the chapter house books. 1 book per season that focuses on the great houses. I would love to Butlerian Jihad as well that part of history is perfect for the big screen.
Looking forward to this origin story. When I read the books originally I was always wondering, of course, what were the dots to connect from our present to that future. I always found David Lynch’s version terrifying, however that was an actual feeling. The Villeneuve dune part one was so numbing. Although Dune part two carried me away in the cinema with great action and technique, they really only showed us the daily life of the Harkonans. So there’s still this massive hole about what things feel like on a daily basis in the universe in tha Dune future. Maybe this one will help bridge the feeling from the books to the movies.
IMO I think it should be considered Canon, considering the stories are based on manuscripts Frank had in a safe deposit box that was found after his death. Brian refused to continue the dune books as he didn't know what his father's vision was until the treasure trove of those manuscripts were found.
Playing with Herbert's historical canon - not that the details were ever worked out (no, don't mention those ridiculous prequels by his greedy son and that hack) so, well, maybe. Probably won't work out all that well, naturally.
Maybe. At least with this show they seem to be keeping with the same music and vibe. Can’t say the same for style of aesthetics- it is supposed to be 10,000 years in the past. But the vibe is the same. Rings of Power- not so much
Didn’t see any memorable characters or storyline in this trailer. As much as I like sisters I hope it won’t be comparable to Wheel of time where the women are also powerful sorrecesesses. But they made it a really lame and bad show.
Did you even read Wheel of Time?? That’s exactly who the women were supposed to be according to the author. As for this- they aren’t called “witches” by outsiders for nothing. People don’t understand them and their power. But I think this is more about the planting of the future prophecy of the Kwisatz Haderach
Fuck, didn't even finish 3 movies and already a spinoff series loosely based on a spinoff book... and Dune is soooo bad for serialisation you just know it will be shit
@@BucyKalman I meant _DUNE_ as a whole (the movie is in two parts). I don't care what paid shills hype up to get people back into cinemas following the pandemic. I regret going.
@@Evenstar6688 Depends. It is possible you saw the IMAX version whilst I saw the letterboxed one. However, I don't think this would have made that much of a difference. Miserable movie.
@@____uncompetative I didn't see the IMAX version. I just genuinely thought it was a visual masterpiece with immaculate storytelling. Anything in the Dune universe is incredibly difficult to translate to the big screen and Villenueve did an incredible job with that he was given.
