@@apb3251 The unknown reason is unfortunately a lot of 'eccentrics' in Toronto who will yell at you, as Hawke put it in his Instagram comments... most anyone who approaches you on the streets in Toronto will not have anything nice to say. Harassment, stalking, catcalling; all often substance-fuelled. The finance district is particularly a tough crowd but there is reason to be cautious in Toronto

I apologize for my fellow Torontonians - we truly are a group who are paranoid of people talking to us, who fear any kind of human contact, who are over-protective, and also very untrustworthy of anyone even glancing in our general direction. We have a lot of work to do. But your bright light was needed, even if it wasn't appreciated at the time. We have to do better.
He probably did this in downtown Toronto. Like 75% of the people trying to talk to you in downtown Toronto are drug addicts, homeless people, or people with mental disabilities. They wait for people to give them attention, then they never leave them alone and can get violent. God these Toronto videos make me so embarrassed to be torontonian but they are accurate. No one even likes to make eye contact in the city. Most accurate part is the driver parked in the crosswalk.

Damn missed you by a matter of days. I was recently in Toronto, my first time in Canada from the UK and yeah the people weren’t that friendly or chatty, im from northern England and love to meet new people but was hard work 😢
Yup, Toronto is a town full of humorless zombies. I lived there long enough not to be surprised by these flat reactions (or non-reactions) to Troy's joyful comments. It's just sad.
I would fan girl all over Troy. And, yes, Torontonians really are this suspicious and humourless, on average. Once in a while you'll find Miss Dungarees or Rogers Guy. Or me! I, too, am the exception to the dour rule.
