@@firestar4407 Yeah they wanted to make It feel more In line with persona 3 and going onward, but I think this was a mistake. I'm glad that someone made a patch to play the Psp version with the ps1 soundtrack. It really adds to the atmosphere and to the mood of this game.
Yeah, rather than, I dunno, rearranging the whole PS1 OST, they cut out a lot of songs and the new tracks don't really fit the game's atmosphere. What could have been a nice tribute to the late Hidehito Aoki turned out to be a disrespect to his amazing work.
A theme that sounds like a normal day with that slight undertone of danger and suspense, I love the soundtrack, I don't think we'll ever get one like it ever again, rest in peace Hidehito Aoki, may your work never be forgotten 🙏
1994-2000 was simply unreal in music quality. Devil Summoner and Persona 1, Soul Hackers and the Persona 2 Duology, and the Majin Tensei games as well. That was the golden age of MegaTen music imo.
There are plenty of good OSTs out there persona has its own identity so it's gonna sound different from others but I've heard some good stuff in this generation of games
@@Ray_Moses it's not about it being good or not. Modern games just don't have this type of feel, and it's because of hardware. Nothing modern sounds like this because they aren't using PS1 audio chips

This song, and pretty much the entire soundtrack, hits my nostalgia bone so fucking hard, even though I hadn't even heard it until recently. It's amazing how certain kinds of music can invoke such a feeling of wistfulness, longing, and sehnsucht.
The PSP ost isn't that bad, but it's just unfitting for a game like Persona 1. The music here is atmospheric and was meant for a game set in the 90's, the PSP ost would fit more to a totally new entry/neo-Persona game.
The more I listen to it, this might just be the best song on the PlayStation. This theme perfectly captures a once peaceful school, filled with energetic and promising young students attending an average high school life, now having to fear for their lives with a sudden outbreak of demons. To think this was all done with the PS1 Sound Chip is nothing short of impressive.
Persona 1 & 2 for ps1 have good musics the psp version does sound good still but as a retrovise i do like more these old ones especially snow queen good ending and Maya's theme :>
It’s so sad too, because el when people talk about persona 1, they talk about the psp version and it’s soundtrack, when imo this is my favorite school theme of the series
The problem with the other soundtrack is that it loops in a way that becomes incredibly annoying after awhile The original soundtrack was more optimal for the encounter rates and battles
Yeah. I like School Days, but it feels a bit unfitting to have this song playing when you return from a hospital and now the entire city is infested with demons
yeah, I would love to play actual Persona on PSP if they just leave original OST or at least added the option to switch it. Otherwise, meh, not interested, considering how bad PS1 version was.
