For half a day now, the valiant Ser Reggie had been walking towards Hook Bor. The smell of garlic finally met its old friend - the smell of camp sweat. Is it worth swimming at all? Apparently, paid baths are all the tricks of trading communities that profit from honest people! While knights are risking their lives, and nobles are cultivating fields and grazing cattle, these eternally pompous city loafers are only thinking about how to get into their pockets. Sire's forehead became wrinkled, indicating that he was actively thinking about this theory. However, it didn’t take long to do such a difficult task as thinking, since several clay houses with thatched roofs appeared on the horizon.
The village near Kryukovy Bor could boast of a dozen small houses, a manor and a wooden tavern. It was to the tavern that Sire headed, because the sun was already setting, and his throat was sore from the lack of moisture. The door was open and the room greeted the noble guest with gloomy silence. Everyone was still working. Having called the owner a couple of times, Ser Reggie heard the creaking of the floorboards and a couple of seconds later he saw a thin man lazily descending. This was followed by the words pleasing to God - “would you like some beer?”
The locals had just begun to enter the tavern, and Ser Reggie was already finishing his third glass of beer. The peasants, who were gloomy at first glance, turned out to be cheerful interlocutors. The knight had a great time discussing with the villagers all the rumors that filled the village. But we must not forget about business! His drunken reconnaissance, which he decided to conduct after the tenth glass, rewarded him with a scattering of various information. But the most interesting thing, of course, concerned the Monster, which turned out to live on a hill in the middle of the forest. Boasting and shaking a two-handed axe, Ser Reggie of Tarvent shouted to the entire tavern that he would kill the village and bring peace to the monster, that he would free the forest from the fields and the fish from the snares. After these words, he fell to the floor and fell asleep... Happy listening!
