I so appreciate all these videos for monster creation and realism for the characters to really have it infront of them

So, what music are you using at the intro for this one? This feels very Thor Ragnarok, for some reason.

I have 4 fire giants that need painting.

How many fire giants would you put inside a fire giant fortress? I know it would depend on the fortress, but is like 60-70 too many?
@AJPickett
@AJPickett 2 года назад
Oh, very much so, I'd say no more than a couple of dozen.

I'm totally picturing the Durmstrang boys, just as massive fire giants.

I am a fan of Greek mythology. Fire Giants are the intellectual spawn of Vulcan in my campaigns. They are like the superior forged and innovated versions of both fire and technology on top of being Fire Giants in my campaigns... player character rewards were always as if the Fire Giants were 6 HD higher. That was fair, always was. Also, the players could not use the Fire Giant magical gear for obvious reasons.

That80sGuy1972 Could one of your player’s convince a fire giant smith to forge them a weapon?
@That80sGuy1972
@That80sGuy1972 5 лет назад
@@Birbucifer Yes. There is always at least one Fire Giant the players can approach to do something like that. The cost was always absurd but I never had a player that wasn't willing to pay it.

I think of them as black skinned giant dwarf (I know, what a contradiction!) meets Roman Legionary.

Eh I question that one encounter with the Lamia... she had a Fire Giant body guard in her lair. The DM's reason was that the two were traders of materials and such. Yet I still couldn't figure out why a Fire Giant would deal or come close to a Lamia for her to charm him into her services.

Mark Torres It’s his world, the DM can mold lore to fit his world as much as he wishes.

Epochs ago the first Dwarves of Moradin the Soul Forger were willed into being from the bodies of the first Jotenheim Stone Giants slain by the Elder Gods of the Norse and Greek Pantheons including Thor and Odin AllFather. That's where the dwarves came from. As for the fire giants I gotta say I'm not impressed,with 4th or 5th edition compared to 1st and 2nd ed. Against any of my 1st /2nd PCs I'd crush them HA HA HA HA!!! I could take my 20th fighter/16th theif/23 bard and with the help of a single Arch Enchanter could kill 200 or 300 in roughly 10 melee rds using standard rules of 1&2 edit. With our own little tweek on spell casting speed. AGAIN you didn't go deeper into the ORDNING history,it's very very important for ALL giants and giant kin.......despite them being powerful an brutal with militarization being a "high priority" Fire Giants also,for pleasure helm amazing stone ships across vast oceans of lava REVELING in battle against great fiery elemental versions of prime material sea life like whales and megoladons of lava/fire and to a fire giant engaging in these "pleasurable" activities includes eating/drinking/gambling/fucking......you name it! That's the essence of what it means to rank in their society you gave little or no detail on any of the major giants or their deities....thats shits important for a DM to remember if he wants to have not only a satisfied group of eager young anti-heros..(lol) but possibly some half giant player characters as well! Not to mention the satisfaction I get of Dungeon Mastering a succesful adventure my time spent setting it up should worth the trouble. Your Hill Giants vid was pretty much the same.....ha ha ha Pickett,Hill Giants don't eat rocks,dirt and trees.......DUDE, they eat dead pcs wolves and fucking bears and sometimes in lean times each other! The finest meal a hill giant will ever know is the heart,brain and visera of Green Dragon. The most important info on any giant or giant kin is where they rank in the Ordning.......my Dwarves in Faerun would massacre even more giants than my humans hahaha! Overall great description but that's about it......im scared to look at your storm giant video!.......(j.k.)😨☇☈⛈🌦 valiant effort Chevalier Pickett! Ill check out more of your giant vids. Hope your not offended by my criticism,my friends and I have played a long time...about 40 years and now................................silence! Lol

Not offended (well, perhaps by your sentence structure, but not the content). I was just starting out on my monster ecology journey when I embarked on the ambitious plan of covering all of the giants in a 'series' of videos. Yes, things have improved since then but the old videos have a certain merit. There is a distance put into the lore between Norse mythology and the lore of the Giants. *looks through the books* funny, I don't see the Abrahamic mythology in here anywhere. Golly gee I wonder why?

@@Sothpawman play d&d with me sometime then decide.....my primary campaign world is over 30 years old with characters that are over 200 years old! Lolx2 We've made giants extinct on our home world as well as halflings, and the elves well they got smart .....they just left! Our world is governed by a very successful Magocracy with heavy Fascist undertones.
