Well... I have a new favorite dragon, and it's my favorite color too. My inner DM started laughing maniacally as you described it's breath weapon. Next time my players swat team a dungeon without taking damage, I'm putting them in a boat.

So you could easialy find a single forest where a black, orange and green dragon are in a general area. Imagine if the black and orange held and intervention with the green and the three prefered to work together for fear of a metalic coming by and killing them all off one by one.

Oh you just gave me another unusual dragon to use in my Tomb of Annihilation campaign, nice.

In Chemistry class in high school our teacher set the ceiling on fire with a sodium and water demonstration. It was pretty sweet.

Creative. A dragon that breaths Greek fire. Though in RL, I don't think sodium gets that hot. Now I have to ask my best friend. Hes a chemist. And he would laugh his ass off at the notion. Probably go on a tyraid about yellow dragons, and claim that they would be far worse due to breathing potassium. Which reacts like sodium but faaaar more explosively. Probably say that you could find their lair by following the strong smell of bananas. Which are one of their favorite snacks due to the high potassium and sugar content.

They could be fleshed out and more so on what little there is on the remaining chromatic dragons. Tiamat had this sister multi head dragon or what Ive read she shunned her or what silly readon it was. Tiamat is Red, Blue, White, Black and Green. The sibling had the dragon heads of Purple, Orange, Yellow, Grey/ Fang and Brown/ Sand.

I homebrewed these into my game, had it use its breath weapon on a couple Kobolds and my players watched in horror as the Kobolds ran to them for help, only to explode in their faces.

This is one of the most monster hunter creatures I've ever heard about.

You can avoid a lot of pain from these stick-on effects by using Prestidigitation to clean yourself up. Unless of course you got fully drenched, in which case, you get to spare your face or groin.

Oh yes... I think I found my dragon to set on my party as a DM. They've been annoying me lately with their meta-gaming and min/maxing habits. I feel this uncontrollable desire to harm them severely now that they entered a jungle terrain completely out of the module I was using. Yeeeeessssssss.

Truely unique dragon, internally they have a number of redundent segments with the occasional seed. WIth a wam citric scent but you certainly do not wish to encounter one within an hour of brushing ones teeth

Have you considered doing some of the more obscure classes like the "Battle Dancer" from Dragon magazine (also in Dragon Compendium for 3.5 page 26,) on this channel? The Battle Dancer is basically a Chaotic Monk. It seems to me that the real world inspiration was Capoeira the martial art that many believe was developed by slaves taken to plantations in Brazil. In order to hid the fact that they were practicing a fighting style the practitioners of Capoeira could always claim they were just dancing.

But, with maybe a younger Orange Dragon, I could see this being an interesting, and deadly, quest for the materials needed to make a pretty wicked grenade like item for the party. A wicked, useful weapon, yes. But the quest to get it will most definitely scar the party, physically, mentally, or otherwise.

I suppose anyone prepped to remove a grease spell off themselves might be able to quickly free themselves or rather an ally. Kinda hard to reach for bottles and cast when you're burning alive.

Prestidigitation! PrestidigitationPrestidigitationPrestidigitationPrestidigitation!!! I could imagine Tiamat originally having only 3 heads, and a sister who also had 3. However she beat and took the blue and green heads for herself. I also like the idea that there is or at least was a Tamait who basically had purple as its main head, yellow and orange, then lastly pink and one more that I am not sure what would be. The cruelty of the orange dragon and the joking pink dragon may not get along too well. Both the purple and orange heads do really hefty damage, so it the yellow and pink dragon heads mainly screwing with the enemy de-buffing and crowd controlling them seems solid. I think because it already got so much damage potential. It has the ability to blind and suffocate with the salt, I forgot the effect of the pink, but was it to make the ground slippery? Basically making it just that much harder to deal with the rest of the shit going on. I wonder what the last head would be good with. It would be great for it to be something that would annoy or cause some extra conflict. Something extra to really have pissed Tiamat off enough to get rid of her sister other than just a power rivalry. The jokes and the other bs from the pink dragon and the attitude of both the orange and yellow dragon may have already all been annoying as it is. So just one last piece to really make Tiamat go "OK BITCH, Its you OR me. The world is not big enough for the both of us!" The family bond purple dragons have may be the only real reason the heads would not kill each other or something. Back to the first idea, what if the both of them originally had more than 5 heads, but the conflict ended up permanently ruining some of the draconic lines. The heads of Tiamat is just the stuff that is left.

So it's basically a manifestation of the entire veitnam conflict(both sides.) seriously i want to award the people responsible for creating it. *pictures a megalomaniacle orinige dragon singing ride of the valkyries while fighting in and thinking about how it's feeding an endless conflict between oringe cobolds and the local goblin population in it's territory. to toughten up it's virtual cobold army to defend the treasure horde in it's lair. and to expand it's reputation as a dragon not to be triffled with as it fights on the kobold side. and to provide itself with an endless source of entertainment as it gluts itself on the horrors of unending jungle warfare. and to put some spirit into the maniacle recordings of it's singing voice* yeah, soft metal is horrendous, the thing about them (inculding sodium) is that because they react with water, they react with YOU, because your body is 80% water, in some ways this worse than acid. there are so many tropes around this... maybe cos i've reached a crittical mass of veitnam media, both fictional & factual. i can picture this dragon creating the most elaborate arrays of non-lethal mind fields, recruiting army's of reverse conscripted child soldiers(where they get to retire if they get old enough.) just for the share possibilities of trama. ranting about being "the sound of thunder" and various rain metaphores, when it has an audience. and rambeling to itself while it's on the move through the "bush" about the most dark, sadistic, psychotic and ghoulishly maniacle topics related to "it's war" of which it's mostly perpetuating, as possibly even currently enacting, and just reveling in it all. this dragon would put people in wheelchairs who don't need them, just cripple people with PTSD, whether or not they escape without debilitating injuries. i suppose it's answer to the question: "who are you at war with?" would be along the lines of "whom ever i can be..." to the reply of "but you know that war is hell." ans "hell is beautifull, hell is profound, hell is an experience that shakes you too the very core of your being." reply "we are fragile souls, and we don't want to be shaken..." ans "nethier do eggs, but by the gods! the omeletts that we make, a chief doesn't doesn't bare mind to the complaints of the chickens." reply "it's evil!" ans "ART!, it is an "art"." *blood saturated quicksand pool starts to form drowining the morally protesting interviewer* yeah, another amazing source of inspiration.

My thanks for gifting me this dragon type, my players are terrified that the one stuck in a mirror of life trapping they found might ever come out (which of course it will, though it may be distracted by the panicking mindflayer and rakshasa that will also be released :) They will have alot on their plate to deal with but I’m waiting until they realize just how unsecured the mirrors location is where they left it)

I'm reading lamia quest right now and it says that Dragons call anything that can overpower them dragons because nothing can be more powerful than a dragon. Just something other DM might want to use.
