Hi all, Nick here. Sorry I didn't see these earlier! A spell attack bonus or modifier is used when you are targeting someone with a spell, typically with an offensive spell. Think Firebolt, Guiding Bolt, Harm, those kind of spells. The spell attack bonus is a combination of your proficiency and your spellcasting ability modifier. Because I am a cleric in this example, Wisdom is what I use to cast my spells, so it is my proficiency bonus and wisdom modifier. A Spell Save is when a target is attempting to resist a spell. This is made by the target of your spell. So for example if I cast Hold Person and attempt to paralyze them, I cast the spell, but the target has an opportunity to resist the spell. This is where your Spell Save DC or Difficulty check comes into play. This is calculated as 8 + proficiency bonus + spellcasting modifier (in my case using wisdom. Hope that all helps!
