No one would say "oh when will Mabel ever realize how much she hurt Dipper's feelings?!". She did. After he told her that Ford didn't make fun of him all the time, she felt remorse over her past actions. And Stan too. He apologized to him.
The Dipper’s real name thing is pretty funny. Because 90%+ of Gravity Falls fans don’t know what it is at all. And there’s no way to figure it out just from watching the show. P.S. It’s Mason by the way. It’s in Journal 3, which I have not read but someone else did.
I feel like if Dipper told Ford his name it wouldn’t be in character for him. While yes, Ford is the first person he’s met this summer that understands him, to then tell him a secret he’s told no one else, besides presumably Mabel but that’s just by proxy, would be really out of nowhere. He hasn’t told Stan, Soos, or even Wendy, so to tell Ford who he’s known for a few days at maximum would be weird and way too hasty for Dipper to do. That’s just my reading tho, so I could be wrong.
@@ilexdiapasonthough in the lost legends comics, when Ford asked Stan what was Dipper's first name, he answered "Diptolemew". I assume he forgot and just gotten used to his nickname "Dipper"
wait in the journal ford wrote that dipper fell from the sky i dont know if the crew was thinking this much into it but what if this implies he forgets what the sky looks like on occasion for one reason or another
as a nerdy pre-teen when this show was coming out, i could put myself in dipper's shoes easily when he was meeting ford. not only is this the guy so much of the show had been building up to meeting, but hes also somebody that cares about what dipper likes so much, its no wonder dipper was so hyped to be his apprentice. even if ford has good qualities dipper can look up to, he is wrong about a lot of stuff and the writing of this show gives both him and stan a pretty fair shake perspective-wise. as said in the atots commentary you can get empathize and be frustrated with them both p easily.
