Yeah this is why I decided not to watch his playthrough, I don't expect him to do every boss or get every item, but at least do the main line bosses and even ignoring that, he straight up skipped like 60% of the game to bum rush the ending. Of course you can play the game any way you want, that is the entire point of the game, but some of the best content for the game is completely optional.

@@krissman123 I’m honestly surprised he could beat it without the side quests. I got really hardstuck on Maliketh, The Black Blade and looked up the secret areas to level more. And I’m still struggling to beat Maliketh. He just seems to one shot you and have undodgeable attacks. Even with the black knife parry item it’s just too hard to time and you always get hit anyways. I do better just running away when I suspect an unblockable move

@@scamthesam that's part of it, no one likes a boss that they can easily steamroll, but it's also good from a lore standpoint, a design standpoint, and an all around epicness standpoint. In my opinion, it wins in all those categories.

I discovered the ice stomp on my own. I was playing on release before videos or strats were made. i thought it was a joke of a spell just by the description until I used it. Then I leveled it up more and decided only to use it when i got tired of bosses of Malenia.

A lot of ppl in the elden ring community have this idea that you should play the game handicapped or not using features that are "broken". It's the same reason why people disliked the ds3 community but now it's glorified through the popularity of elden ring. Stop treating the game as ego fuel and just enjoy the game. Playing the game with this mindset is the true handicap; find beauty in the experience, challenge, and the fantasy of it all.

Word. Just remember your childhood man. Had a BLAST with games even if you had no clue what you were doing, maybe even randomly played like the third in a series, but you just felt it like nothing else and didn't instantly give up and looked it up because you need to finish it quickly or on the flipside were so stubborn with game mechanics that you just ruin the fun for you out of principle. Like bruh, it's almost like people play for pride and completing things more than fun. oof.

Its kinda funny that on rare occasions the bosses wont do anything. It happened to me in bloodborne twice. The boss just stands there not doing anything, I kinda got cheated from a good boss fight. Though I fought the boss properly on my first and second playthrough.

I'm hesitant to even call "open world" a genre of games. I mean, I feel like open world is just the default, we LIVE in an open world, that's like, the blank canvas. Ass Creed and Horizon Zero Bitches are empty as fuck tho, and even elden ring isnt perfect but it IS pretty good. We need more AI assistance in game development for the grunt work, so that the devs can work on the more important parts like quest design, boss design, story, atmosphere, etc

@@blipblop1112 its a lot harder than the first horizon. You could argue that its harder than elden ring because you can't farm points and slap the most OP build onto your character. You can become pretty OP but even with the best gear you'll struggle to kill certain enemies.

Forbidden West outsold Elden Ring on Playstation platforms so we know it's doing just fine. We also have to remember that despite being overshadowed by Breath of the Wild, the first Horizon still went on to sell 20 mil.
