Pete Thorn is an incredible guitar player/musician. I'm not only sold on the wah pedal, but more inspired to be a better guitar player by Pete Thorn's incredible guitar playing.
Pete's videos are almost like a masterclass to watch! There's so much information this guy can pass on, it's virtually impossible not to learn something from him!
That is a great sounding wah and the song you wrote was PERFECT for demoing the pedal. Amazing that a song could have that much wah in it and not sound whack. Love it - another idea for your next album.
One tip for those who do adjust trim pots: make sure the original factory positions are marked. Not all come that way, but a fine-point permanent marker usually does the trick. You might want to do this even if you don't plan to tinker with the them.
really great demo and excellent playing as always...also, really nice bass playing and thank you for mixing the bass up in the final mix, sounded great. I know you don't make your demo songs with bass in mind, but your a good bass player and it's nice to hear it finally!
Pete Thorn as i said, i bought this wah 😅, now ... in this video, where was your wah ? In your signal chain? And do You have any video where you explain something about order signal chain?
Not a fan of John Petrucci but DAMN this things sounds awesome! The low-end is just insane and like Pete said it has very 'talk-box-like' qualities to it. Nice work Dunlop and nice work Pete - very enjoyable.
Nice demo Pete. The pedal was really enhanced by your composition. During the mix it sounded very versatile. When singled out, it sounded much more niche. Agree, completely, with the talk-box reference. Frampton Comes Alive came to mind with some of the tones. Would not have guess it from a wah.
This is actually the best wah on the planet w internal adjustments. Comes set to Petrucci's settings. Killer clean or dirt. Only $200 mine is on the way right now.
Cool wah. I have the Vox Big Bad Wah signature pedal from JS. Love that pedal. This demo makes me think maybe another wah would not hurt. Pete have you reviewed the Big Bad Wah?
Finally!!! Thank you Pete for this awesome demo, kudos!!! At last someone does a demo showing ALL the sonic capabilities of the pedal instead of hours of random pseudo-funky whacka-whacka (common on every f*cking wah demo EVER) or very very bad mimics of JP's style.
Hi Pete - Love ALL of your videos. I do mean all- big fan here! I also have the JP95 I bought it about 2 years ago and hung up the GCB-95...I'm not messing with the settings either! I do want to ask what pedal board are you using? Thanks !
Hey Pete, question and comment. First great demo, it's actually a wah that I like. Second, what kind of LP style guitar is that in the video. Keep up the great work, Thanks.
Watch Ryan Bruce's demo. When he does the section with no backing track and steps on it, you can hear it take the clean channel and add tons of gain and growl.
Hi Pete! I don't seem to care much for that Wah. I'm too stuck in a different generation I think. I've had my Vox Wah since 1967,and it's all I need. Nice playing as usual.Have a pleasant week.Don.
Love the tune, but I just don't dig the wah as much as everyone else seems to. : / I do like that it's basically the rack wah, (sans rack) but I don't care for the stock settings. Hope to try one in person though... Maybe it'll change my mind.
I can't remember what I used exactly but I may have used my Bondi SickAs overdrive to boost for the lead parts... and probably my Cali 76 compressor for the funky clean. The rest (tonally) is just my PT100 amp
