Dunu x Gizaudio DaVinci Review!!! The Evolution Continues...

To be honest, I am already over IEM collaborations. After a couple of really underwhelming experiences with them recently (Hades, Singolo), I had more or less decided to swear off of them, for purchase, or review. Except for Timmy V of Gizaudio that is. Based on his track record, I am likely to try and get my hands on anything he is a part of, and the DaVinci is no exception. Big thanks go to Listener from Headphones.com and the folks who put together the North American Tour of this awesome set. I was very lucky to be included and I am very thankful as well.
As with the Galileo and Chopin, I consider the DaVinci to be "blind buy" worthy, so here are links for purchase on HiFiGo and AliExpress:
HiFiGo (unaffiliated):

AliExpress (NiceHCK official store - unaffiliated):

Be careful, be safe, be nice. Love y'all and nothin' but peace to you!

When I first got COVID in late August, 2020, I had typical symptoms on a Thursday evening (severe headache, temp). I continued to vape with nicotine, never inhaling to the lungs but saturating my sinuses with nicotine-laced vapor. My symptoms reduced by Sunday and I was participating in remote business from the confines of my home office that Monday morning. When symptoms fully subsided on Tuesday, I stayed at home for the next 10 days. Why did I continue to vape? Because nicotine has an affinity to the ACE2 receptor, the same receptor upon which SARS-COV2 attaches to the cell. I had read more than a few (suppressed) studies on the matter and figured, if I can crowd out the virus in my sinuses before it reaches a critical population...all the better for my natural defenses to do the rest. I am not a doctor, but I figured there was something to these studies and so I went with it. Did it work? Who knows. Bottom line...for me...COVID (round one) was a nothing burger.

There's also a study that "Propylene glycol inactivates respiratory viruses and prevents airborne transmission". I recall an anecdote where the US military used it in situations where influenza spread was a concern, but don't have a source for the latter.😅

I'm telling ya, the SL41-2 put up a really good fight. I hear the Explorer is either dark, or soft in the treble or both. Just be aware of that. the Sliivo is only going to run you $30-$40 more and should be well under $150 during the next Ali sale.

@@BassDad8 keep on doing what you're doing, man. Your voice is distinctive, earnest, and sorely missing in a field (like so many others nowadays) where the lines between marketing and solid, staightforward reviews (regardless of opinions on products themselves, which naturally will vary) are increasingly blurred. There might be fewer of us around who are in search of more than mere validation for items they've purchased, or who get tangled in the dragnet provided by the thrills of a hyped and well-coordinated launch campaign. However, we usually stick around for a long time, and numbers accrete year after year. Patience pays, and you will be rewarded for organic growth. Everytime I see a creator who is just doing their thing, does it well, and offers solid insights and commentary, I make sure to let them know. We don't want these people to give up. And by "us" I mean a viewership of qualified people, not just aggregate numbers on a dashboard. You came into my attention because of your Artti T10 review, by the way, which I ended up buying because you sounded really, really impressed by it in the most convincing way possible. Suffice to say, you were correct, and it's one of the IEMs in my collection I reach for the most. Thank you!

@@sflurp well that is huge. And thank you again for your kindness and support! Hey, I know I am still learning. Always. One of the best places to get to when you are really, really passionate about something, is when you realize how little you know and how much more you want to experience and learn. I feel like I’ve hit that point recently. It just drives me even harder. But I also really freaking enjoy this and I want to be helpful as much as I can. So, you bet I will keep going. And you’re absolutely right about organic growth being the best. It holds up. Flash and dash and money grabs will usually not. But to be completely transparent, I will likely monetize once I am able. Just with ads I hope can be skipped in 5 seconds and not too many. That will keep this financially sustainable for me. I’ve had plenty of help from my friend Sforzabull who sends me very nice sets. And Harrison at Syeindunce has helped with that too, but it’s very spent in the area of $10K to build this channel, so if I can get it to support itself, that will be huge. And it will keep fresh sets and content flowing. My wife says that she feels like this is what “I’m supposed to be doing” and that is also huge, but what really matters to me, are people like you. I’ve felt nothing but love and support from the people who comment here. It’s amazing, and I feel truly blessed. Thank you ☮️

Nice review! Your reviews always are very enjoyable to watch. I am sorry to hear that you have COVID. Get well soon! Does your review DaVinci set have a serial number? The serial number should be printed on the cable splitter and on the box. Just curious. The DaVinci comes with Dunu's new Leo cable which has a new interchangeable plug system. The new system for changing the plugs is really slick in comparison to Dunu's other previous interchangeable plug systems. I hope that Dunu will start selling the Leo cable soon and perhaps in various colors and additional types cable wire options such as silver coated copper and pure silver. The Leo cable has a very nice balance in terms of its overall construction quality versus the cable's overall weight. Dunu also could potentially sell a conversion kit which would allow anyone who is adept at soldering to convert any IEM cable to a cable which features Dunu's new Leo style interchangeable plug system. I hope that Dunu reads this! I am really enjoying my DaVinci even though the bass and sub bass initially sounded too intense for me. You do have to spend some time to get used to the remarkable slam and texture and layering of the bass since this may be something which you are not used to hearing. I now understand why the reviewers who I trust always want to spend around a week listening to any new IEM before they decide to review the IEM. Anyway, I love the DaVinci. I also think that the DaVinci is worth the price if you are looking for an IEM which has very enjoyable bass. The DaVinci's dual DDs have a lot of kick since they do instantly move the air inside your ear canals. This can be a problem with some eartips if you do some tip rolling. After installing the eartips, if you can spin the installed eartips on the nozzles, then the eartips are not providing a tight enough seal around the nozzles and this may result in making the bass sound a bit pillowy and a bit muddy. I encountered this issue when testing some Tri Clarion eartips which had already been used for awhile, such that their inner bores were not as tightly fitting as when these eartips were brand new.
@BassDad8
@BassDad8 25 дней назад
@@apollomoonlandings that is all excellent information! I didn’t explore the cable at all as I was trying to be as “hands off” as possible. I had heard the Leo cable was excellent tho. I did try my best to put a comparable cable on it for the testing. I can definitely see spending more than a few days on a set being helpful and I plan on slowing the pace down to one a week once I hit 1K subscribers and see how surgery goes. For right now, I’m definitely doing the best I can to give each set it’s just due, but it does feel a bit rushed at times, I’ll admit. I will check for the serial number before I send it along to its next stop on the tour. Appreciate the heads up on that! ☮️

@@BassDad8 I really enjoy your reviews. The Leo cable is really slick. Other reviewers have covered it very well. The cable which you used for your review also is a nice cable. I hope that your surgery isn't anything major, that it will be successful, and that you will recover quickly.
