I have been learning Spanish with Rosetta Stone but I have a little understanding of the language already from my high school years. I will say that Rosetta Stone makes me go out on the web to try and find meaning to things especially vocabulary. I'm learning a lot of stuff but when I put in my Spanish audio CD's (not Rosetta Stone) I can see that I need it because the speed is crazy
Congratulaciones on learning Spanish!!!! And Yes, I struggle with the same, for me it is always the listening and speaking the challenging areas, but little bit little so let’s keep going 💪🏽
I use Duo as well to learn Swedish and I've found it useful with listening. You're review on German is quite useful because I've also studying Dutch not being really sure if I was picking it because the app is okay or because I studied German before making it easier. Apart from listening, I don't find Duo useful. Despite all the strategies to keep us motivated, I find it boring most of the time.
Hello, my name is Tiago, I' m from Brazil and my native language is portuguese. I' m fluent in english but I want to improve more and more. Congratulations and have a good journey too through the world of learning :)
Ya since it’s a hard language. It took me about 5 years. Apart from duo I listen to German songs. I can understand writing ✍️ of German well. Now in b1 level.
@@J-Lynx15 B1 is a great level!!! 👌🏽 And yes listening songs is a good strategy to improve a new language. I watch movies with subtitles in the language I want to learn and that helps me a lot.
@Gina the feeling that you get when understanding a foreign language is cool. Currently I am doing français. The grammar is less harder than German. And yes I watch movies too. ✌️😄
@@J-Lynx15 well I'm too learning German in Duolingo, it's good for me and I have just started before one month, it's really good. Well I'm planning to buy a subscription in rosettastone, can you suggest me please, lot it's that good and can you please share me some songs and movies of German. Think it would be helpful for me. Please help me to choose right one.
Been doing Rosetta stone for the last 4 months, I've found at times it's frustrating, the speech recognition for me was horrible, and a lot of the times I havent a clue what to say to it when asked to guess a conversation, Today I'm just going to quit and find another course, but Do feel I've learned a lot, but it's very hard.
I totally agreed that learning a new language can be frustrating sometimes, especially when you have put so much effort and many hours on it but don’t give up, take a break if necessary, and change the strategy if you need, I do that and helps me a lot. I wish you so much success in this journey of speaking another language!!! And thank you for sharing your experience with me 🙂
obviously there's no cure, no secret pill to take to learn a language. I feel like RS is just good for your first steps at elementary level but with a grammar supplement :)
I bought Rosetta Stone for life. I wanted to try learning some German. I would agree that there isn’t much explanation of grammar which is frustrating. But the pictures with words does help me.
That’s amazing Allaiya!!! I think with Rosetta Stone for life you have plenty of time to learn German, my advise is to be consistent even if it is just a little every day, with that you will get better results instead of rushing like I did. Hope you give us an update after some time learning German. Thank you for your comment and have an amazing New year 2023!!! ✨✨✨
That’s awesome!!!! French and Italian have some similarities because of Romance languages but Japanese I have no idea so lot of success 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Let me know how it goes with Rosetta and those languages 🤗
Saludos 🤗
Part of it comes down to your learning style as well. Some people do better with rote back/forth translation. I find that extremely boring and it wastes a lot of time because it's inefficient. I don't learn well that way, my ADHD brain gets bored of that. And I find I have trouble with actually picking up spoken word when it's done this way. Rosetta Stone however, is more stimulating visually (I'm a visual learner) and I've found it really builds comprehension which ultimately, you won't be able to speak without understanding the other person, so..
Thank you so much for sharing your experience and insight related to ADHD, I think you are right, in that case Rosetta Stone can be better, I consider myself a visual learner as well but for some reason at that time I felt little less engaged with Rosetta Stone, maybe it is time to give it another chance. Have a great day 🤗 and I wish you all the success learning a new language ✨✨✨
Hahaha in Mexico we have all kind of sounds, we have bread, tortillas, desserts, fruit and even earth for your garden, everything right in front of your door 😄 that’s why we say...
Is there a difference between rosetta stone and rosetta stone catalyst? I am a bit confused what the catalyst part is. My university offers a rosetta stone catalyst course for a year for €100 and I am debating whether to get it or not.
Hi Jelisa! Honestly I don’t have any experience with the Catalyst version but for what I have read it sounds pretty cool and very complete. I think €100 per year is not that bad. I don’t remember exactly but I think I paid like $40 dollars for only three months so that price for 1 year sounds reasonable for Rosetta Stone standards. I wish you good luck and success learning a new language!!!
Hello Mam. Hope you and you're family members are safe and good. I'm VARUN from India. Well, I really love this video is useful. Yup! As you told Duolingo is free and it's really great app for me, I'm learning German. I have completed 30 days strike yesterday and till now I feel it's good and apart from it I'm looking into some RU-vid German coaching channel like Learn German, Learn German with Anja, these channels are good really great for German. Well, I tried to subscribe for Rosetta stone, well I saw your video and I don't think to subscribe now because it's expensive. Now the option for me is only Duolingo. Mam, can you please say a option like is there any app or websites to learn language by having a conversation with native speaker? If anything available please let me know Mam. Oops! Sorry for long texts mam 😅. RU-vid page is great. Your expressions are amazing. Both your voice and expressions are mesmerizing me. Fan from India. All the very best to you Mam.
Hi Varun!!! Thank you for tour message and I am sorry for my late responde but I don’t know why I didn’t see your message before. Congratulations on learning German, that’s a tough one 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 There is a website named busuu.com and I think you can start for free and the good thing about it is that native speakers revise your exercises and you can have contact with them so you can practice with different German native speakers. I hope this can help you in your journey with German and I wish you all the success!!! ✨✨✨
