Duong, I highly recommend getting some plants to grow in the pond for the ducks to eat. The fish will enjoy them too. The water plants will also provide a home for water insects, which your fish will enjoy eating. I would suggest collecting some plants from the river, and seeing which ones your ducks like to eat, and then collect more of that type to grow in your pond.

Duong, I just had an idea that I keep meaning to suggest: why don’t you make a mushroom farm? You collect edible mushrooms and collect the tiny spores they make which looks like brown dust. Then you get logs and boil them to sterilise any bad fungus or insects or mould. Then you put the spores into the boiled sterilised wood. The best way is to drill holes in the wood, add the spores, then splif the hole with a wooden plug. Then you just leave the mushroom logs somewhere mushrooms will like. A nice moist area with shade. Then every year you will get mushrooms on those logs until the wood is consumed by the fungus.

Make a water fence with bamboo so it doesn't go away

Nothing quite reminds you of the work Duong has put into this valley farm like seeing what the dirt looks like mere inches under the topsoil. Comparing the sandy texture and ruddy color of the dirt in the holes to the soil in his garden areas really shows Duong to be a decent caretaker of this land. There are years of work ahead for further refining the soil to support more life, but these first few years have been fruitful.

Duong, please: use clean water to feed animals and cleaning their bowls/confort zone. Using the water of the artificial lake is not safe.

So very wise how you talk softly to the ducklings and goslings as you feed and water them. They will soon be able to recognize your voice, and will come to you when you speak.

You need more feeding trough as well as water trough for that many chicks.

Thank you for posting! I see you didn't remove the bark from the posts or burn the buried ends. Sometimes you do this and sometimes you don't? It seems like your growing your farm past your ability to maintain it. When are your girls gonna be big enough to help out? I was thinking goats would be more helpful in keeping the weeds and grass down or a dog would be a nice friend to have around, what are the benefits of ducks when you got so many chickens?

It is good to see you extending your farm with more animals. Now that you have added some modern things, like the lights, to your farm, please buy some nails for your building projects. It seems you are getting low on these. And it takes a little of time to make them.

I love Duong's videos...I enjoy watching his wife's channel too. One thing I noticed in the market is how, in what could be considered a challenging geographic area, no one really wears closed toe shoes. They mostly wear flip flops or sandals. Why is this? Are sneakers & boots difficult to come by? Is it an import / tariff issue? I just thought it was curious. Keep up the terrific videos Duong!
