Something a bit different today. I've got my Birkin and the Teddy Blake Caty bag side by side for an in depth comparison. Price of the Teddy Blake 14inch- currently $549 (reduced from $789). Exotic- appearing bags are $649
Great comparison! So torn about the Teddy Blakes, and a bit mad at myself for being such a brand junky....... Why should I feel "less" to carry a well made bag, in good quality but not an Hermés, Chanel or whatever? Also so sick and tired of the dupe discussion. What's really new under the sun? I would be more upset if they tried to price it the same way as Hermés. I think it's OK to appreciate the style but not wanting to spend the crazy amount of money it actually is. And if you want to try out a style to see if it fits your needs and lifestyle before taking out a mortgage on your home? Wish I weren't such a snob, ridiculous really! Well done Emma
I'm totally buying this bag as a precursor to the Hermes. I'm really trying to figure out the size of the 30 and 35, which translate to 12 and 14 in TB. or Buti now. Also on CND the Buti is 750-850, so STILL a steal on comparison
I’m surprised that everyone feels a way about this bag but no one is upset about Gucci copying Chanel’s classic flap with their Gucci marmont collection?! Or every brand knocking off the Gucci horsebit loafers? Every brand copies each other. Don’t be a hypocrite and approve of one copy and not approve of the rest! Anyway loved the video and you convinced me to by my 2nd TB bag. Xo
I agree, they all copy each other just like in the automotive industry. As soon as any company notices that a certain style is popular they all start to "copy" each other. Its business and to be honest I will never get a Birkin on my salary so for me I can enjoy the style without have to sell a kidney.
Urma Bee isn’t their product just essentially another design? Idk why people care so much about these multimillion dollar companies being ripped off/copied. Lol let me know when they start to pay some of your bills. :)
it is only a 1:1 copy if they have the Hermes Paris stamp with the alphabet year stamp, Hermes dust bag and box etc. some people can afford an Hermes bag but handbag is not top priority in their life so they don't want to pay a lot of money for one yet they like the style of it so why not go for alternatives. life is too short and full of ups and downs to be fixated on whether a bag is a copy. there are more important things in life.
I think the Teddy Blake bags are great quality pieces. The price says everything about how over priced Hermes is. It's just a hype. I am a luxury lover myself and have everything but an Hermes bag, but can't bring myself to spend that much on a hand bag. Besides, I find Hermes' customer service horrendous. I refuse to beg for a bag when you are going to put down that much money and maybe even have to settle for a color or a leather version you initially didn't want.
Oh yes, I would love the opportunity to own a higher end bag!!! Thank you for your review and not making any comments that felt shaming for those that love the silhouettes of Hermes, but definitely cannot affoard it!
I really like the Teddy Blake bag. It’s affordable and looks great! At the end of the day handbags are just handbags. It truly doesn’t matter if it looks like a designer bag. There is a lot more important things in this world to worry about. Don’t believe me, I’ll let you follow me around the hospital 😉

I heard the teddy Blake bags are made in Italy by Buti company. Buti is in business since 1958, and also in a video I heard that the Hermès birkin was made by them first , before them.
Emma I adore u & your videos. Your presentation of both bags was awesome. I’m shocked at the pettiness of so many people. Just look at the big name designers Prada, Gucci, Michael kors etc. they all get ideas from each other but these people don’t put them down like this. I m glad I don’t know any of these people. It seems downright mean to me to be so judgmental. My only concern is what color should I pick. I love the orange but I know the black is much more sensible. I watched your car video & loved it. My husband is “building” our new Mercedes now. He’s the car person in this family. I laughed so much when above all else u love your heated steering wheel. I totally get that!❤️❤️❤️
I really appreciate your review! I love how you went in with a very non biased opinion. You reviewed them as two SEPARATE companies that have a (pretty much) identical product. Yes the style is based of off Hermès and you could argue Teddy Blake ripped them off but the general population isn’t too interested in spending $10,000+ on a handbag. Teddy Blake makes a beautiful timeless style available for everyone and I’m great for for that! Thank you so much for not snubbing your nose at teddy Blake like some of these other people! Thank you so much for your thorough and honest review/comparison. I have watch several videos on Teddy Blake bags but never felt comfortable buying one bc I felt that the reviews were bias bc the person recording the review received a free handbag. I am now comfortable buying one bc I feel that your video pointed out the minor details that would mean a lot to a handbag connoisseur such as myself who can’t afford a Birkin. I now know what to expect.

If Hermès made the Birkin a little more accessible in availability and price...it might not be such a duped bag! And it’s not a replica without them stamping the logo on there....it’s just inspired. Every designer everywhere is inspired by something...if you have ever worn clothes....then you’re prolly wearing a replica of some high fashion design...
When you're inspired by a design it shouldn't be "fooling" these people in the comment section thinking that the TB was the Birkin. Being inspired is to take something and change it up so it makes it your own, not copying it exactly alike. And yes, fast fashion such as Zara and H&M has taken "inspirations" from luxury brands but at least they change it up enough where it's not a replica and also have the money to pay off the legal fees.
I agree, but diagree that my clothes are inspired by high end fashion. How do u know high end came out with clothing designs first? Might be a normal clothes manufacture an high end saw an put their own spin on it. We people have the mentality that high end came with something first, which is not always true, its just marketed an so lusted over our minds are brainwashed lol.
I do not own a Birkin but I knew right away that the black one was the real deal! I love that you gave us this review and comparison video. I love Teddy Blake handbags, for those us who can not afford a real Hermès Birkin it gives us the chance to experience a luxury handbag with out having to pay the Birkin Tag 🖤🤩🙌🏽

Very nice review. I love handbags but I’m yet to become so emotionally attached to Hermes to freak out or get mad over a dupe. Especially that Teddy Blake has decent price and quality. And I would never shell out the price of a Birkin or any other Hermes bag even if I win the lottery and become a billionaire

I bought a teddy Blake about a year ago to see if the Birkin will be for me. I’m aiming to purchase a Birkin when I get my doctoral degree in two years. I know a lot of people on RU-vid have said they found out the Birkin wasn’t for them because of the weight and the way you carry it. I felt if I am comfortable with carrying the teddy Blake then I’ll be fine with the Birkin.
I prefer the look of the Teddy Blake. The leather is gorgeous. Nobody really sees the small details of the hardware they notice the leather first. Great review!!!

Great quality on the Teddy Blake bags, but if I wanted a "Birmingham style" bag I'd wait until I could afford the real deal. On the other hand, I don't think any Hèrmes bag is worth the price.
I think Teddy Blake is a completely affordable option for those of us who could never get a Birkin. Absolutely beautiful bags. I wonder who owns the patent for the Birkin style? Obviously it's not Hermes or a lawsuit would have shut them down no? I only heard of TB in 2017. I haven't done any research as to the copyrights on bag design. Does anyone know?
It's interesting right? Because originally in 1890 something? Hermes designed its bags for horse tool bags or whatnot, then redesigned in 1900s to eventually what it is now, but the Patent or copyright, do they not own it? Because so many others make "inspired" bags apparently legally. Bla bla I know lol. I'm just curious 😜👜👜👜
Kim Fudge Hermes might not care that much about fake birkins, especially ones that have a lower price point. Hermes collectors and people that can get a birkin aren't going to migrate to Teddy Blake to save money. But I'm not sure how much they can do about it. Teddy Blake isn't the first brand to do this. If you look at the older/higher priced luxury brands you'll see similarities between their bags and other "lower end" brand bags. Michael Kohrs and coach are extremely guilty of it. LV could have a field day going after the blatant rip offs of the neverfull. I swear you can buy a neverfull from any brand.

I'd rather use that $500 toward a handbag with a more reputable history and its own savoir faire. There are so many indie brands or secondhand designer bags at a more affordable price point.

My husband would kill me if I bought a Birkin and didn't carry it every day for the rest of my life. haha! I just learned about the TB bags and this was a fantastic review, thank you! (Also, a Dremel tool with a buffing tip might get the marks off of your padlock if you still have the bag, don't know if you ever did the giveaway.)
Not sure if you've decided or not.....but yes do a give-a-way! Also a little history I learned on this bag.....Buti has been making this style bag since 1958......Hermes introduced the Birkin in the 80s.....so Hermes is the actual dupe. Crazy I know!
I am not a Birkin person, I can appreciate the beauty and quality of the bag but I could never, in my present life, spend that kind of money on a bag because at the end of the day it is just a bag, can't help me make a living or take me to get food or go to the doctor. Now that I have gone to the extreme, if I were rich or had a husband or career that afforded me the income I would love the have a Kelly. The Teddy Blake is a beautiful bag and to be honest I would probably get the bag that resembles the Kelly. Thank you for the comparison and have a great weekend.

Thanks so much for this review. I just bought the Teddy Blake Eva 11" bag and love it, although like the Caty, I feel the strap leather could be better - thicker, for the cost of the bag. One thing I think a lot of critics of Teddy Blake don't seem to know is that Gucci used to make a bag that looked like the Birkin. I found this out while researching vintage Gucci bags. And sometimes you will come across one of the Gucci bags while looking for a vintage Birkin to buy.
I love this bag. I will never be able to afford a Birkin but I always look. I went to the website and checked out their bags and they are very nice. I wish I was given one like you were, you lucky lady.
IDK whenever I get a craving to check out a Birkin bag and then I realize it is the cost of my grad school and that always makes me rethink that option.

Wow! I'm surprised how similar they are. I am definitely interested if you decide to give away the Caty! 😍 I like that they added the shoulder strap. That makes it SO much more functional. Although I feel like it's a bit small for the size of the bag.. OMG I have been a bag lady too! 😅 I often lie and say I just have "important medication" that I cannot leave unattended...which is effective, although they probably think I'm crazy haha

pixsee2 I think the Mulberry Bayswater is a much better “look-a-like” Birkin because you can tell it’s not a Birkin but it’s a Birkin style, as is the Saint Laurent Sac du jour but that one is a bit more expensive. I’d rather have a bag that is “ Birkin like” than a total knock off looking bag. Just my opinion.

I'm getting the Caty 12" in Fuschia/Orchidia. Hopefully the seal area and strap quality will be good. I got the Eva, it's good, but d strap quality could be improved too. I will be writing to them and informing them that about the Eva strap quality.
that is a fantastic homage to that style and you are wise to own both, more practical and good quality , just like liz taylor, she made copies of her expensive jewelry to wear in public events.
I tried the Teddy Blake Eva bag (Because I LOVE the Kelly style), and unfortunately returned it. And let me warn people, returns are difficult to do with Teddy Blake. Anyway, in regards to their “Hermes style” handbags, I could not accept the rough, unfinished rivets on the front of the closing strap plates. That was the deal-breaker for me. Even the Amazon Ainifeel inexpensive Hermes-inspired bags take better care with their hardware. Thanks for your great review and comparison!
The Hermès Birkin, the investment bag, I would keep it locked up. The Teddy Blake, which are hands down, beautiful bags, I would tote around town with. Nice review. I’m sold in Teddy Blake.

They are both lovely bags, but investing so much in a Birkin would definitely have me second guessing myself. I think the strap addition is a fantastic idea. If you decide to do a give away it would be lovely to be considered.
