Seeing this group live was inspiring and genuinely fantastic. Love the work.

Au sortir d'un concert entier de ce groupe, j'ai quelques éléments à dire. Lorsque Gan joue seul son erhu (en début de concert) un air traditionnel chinois, c'est un enchantement, car il a une virtuosité prodigieuse, une justesse sans faille, une immense musicalité, et on sent un grand compositeur du passé. Lorsque Epi joue seul, même impression, son jeu en doubles cordes, sa voie au timbre et à la tessiture sont incroyables, on se trouve téléporté dans un monastère tibétain ou dans le désert mongol, une merveille Le problème, c'est quand ils jouent à quatre les compositions de Mathias, le guitariste. Ce dernier utilise des thèmes originaux simples, avec les mêmes principes : crescendo decrescendo sur une répétition en ostinato, déluge d'ornementations, tout cela ponctué de cris destinés à de l'ambiance. On sent l'influence de la variété, tout le charme de l'authenticité précédemment ressenti s'estompe . Au passage, on entend un asturias d'Albeniz tronqué, mis à la sauce rock, et une gnossienne de Satie qualifiée de "musique traditionnelle", le guitariste Mathias ne fait pas toutes les notes de la gamme Satie ce qui est frustrant. Néanmoins, il est clair que Mathias Duplessy est le meneur du groupe, et le "vendeur" de cette association de réputation internationale. Il en faut pour tous les goûts...Le concert a été très applaudi, il y a même des filles qui dansaient sur un des balcons..........
