Some people wonder WHY we have the ability to duplicate Views as Dependents. This Revit Tip will explain the reason why. I'll also cover Best Practices and show how to use the famous Matchlines and View References!

WOW Mike, didn't know the view references. what I normally do if it does not to be a dependent view, is make use of scopeboxes. give them all a different name, and then under properties in each floorplan you can assign the scope box you need. and BAM your view is cropped. just a tip. keep making those videos! 😁

Hi Mike, can you please make a video on how to add reinforcement in a rooftop.

Are you asking how to make a rafter or a truss for the roof support?

@@miketaylor8211 No Iron Bars for reinforcement of the roof. Like we can add Iron Bars reinforcement for the floors. Am from Mauritius and the method of construction here we mostly use Iron Bars for roofs. Is there anyway to represent the Iron bars for the roof instead of using floors itself to represent the roof.

@@nakulbabooram1455 Hmmm. I would be inclined to make a face hosted family. If you made it with parameters for width and length you could adjust it to fit over the whole roof. That’s my idea. :/

And the Revit Channel Oscar goes to..... Virtual BIM Management! Congratulations, amazing content and explaining. What you think about "Keynotes"?
@miketaylor8211
@miketaylor8211 2 года назад
Keynoting is really cool and powerful.. but you have to be creative to use it for Demolition and New Work at the same time. I think I have a video.. if not, I’ll make one!

@@miketaylor8211 In this great video called "Material Tags" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RfRIFO8-Fmc.html you briefly quotes "keynote". What i like about keynotes it's the possibility to create codes to the elements and later put them in schedules. Greetings from Brazil

@@miketaylor8211 I meant "put in legends" instead "schedules"!

I always think of "Duplicate with detailing" as "Duplicate as Backup".
