I appreciate having a few flying buddies at the field for a maiden. It adds to the sense of occasion. And the camera really did work out a treat, thanks again! I might have to order one....
Michael Downie Sounds great Mike! I've just been too busy lately to worry about anything rc but this plane is definitely the first on my list. Hopefully in a months time. ;)
If you have not already seen it, I can highly recommend the Flite Test Beginner series - ru-vid.com/group/PL6IuSFWz4ktvupu_gxw1vn-sjBGOkJFHV I have learnt an immense amount from these guys.
It was an excellent maiden. I also added flaperons/spoilerons but only 12% at first. I like the spoilerons (ailerons up) effect better, seems to slow the plane a lot more. Such a great flying plane.
G'day Bob, I do have the ESC brake engaged to stop the prop at 0 throttle, but I'd anything it picks up speed (at least for a little) with the prop back out of the way. I set the ailerons up on the y-harness as it came out of the box, so no flaperons or spoilerons. I think I'll change this though and put the ailerons on seperate channels and add flaperons and spoilerons to a slider to test out their effect and hopefully slow if down for landing. Cheers Michael
I hear you, one of my more exciting/nerve wrecking maidens. The camera was actually a friend's (Andrew Newton) 808 keychain and I just taped it on with two strips of electrical tape. I think the footage came out really nice. Cheers Michael
