Agreed, my brand new truck only had 14,000km last time it went in and could not do a regen. The dealer did a parked regen, 2 days later, engine light comes on. since I bought it, I went through 2 bearings, a ball joint, tie rod, window seal, steering joint and interior coming apart. I'm now at 15,000km and a new appointment next week. my Ford lasted 10 years, 600,000km and never went more than once per 2 years to a mechanic. and sold it because of rust with no mechanical problems. Will be finding a new Ford soon as I don't trust this truck. this is a 2021 GMC 2500HD
Did your truck make a noise when braking or turning while braking? Can't quite figure out if brakes are stick or bearing is going but since new anytime after driving 15 minutes or longer and tap the brake it will make a grind/while that can be felt in the floor board and steering wheen and sounds like coming front from driver tire area.
You gotta drive those trucks hard every so often and you will barely have regens. Every once in awhile do a 0-60 full throttle pull to spit that shit out of there. I put 20k on an 18 duramax for work and never saw any messages regarding the dpf. Gotta drive it like you stole it fairly often
Had an 18 put 76k miles on it and never one issue. Never beat it but definitely drove it hard pretty often. Sadly traded it and miss it dearly. Looking into another one again
All this did was allow a quicker regen to occur ....more air moving allows more fuel to be injected into the exhaust to burn the soot collected in the DPF. Basically, if you drive it like this, it equates to smoking a cigarette in one long hard drag without stopping. You burn it up quicker and hotter.
@@MimisFam DPF delete. im a GM technician, the duramax platform is perfect except the exhaust system. Remove it and get it tuned and the truck will serve you well for at least a half a million miles.
Had you tried hot shot secrets. They have one that will clear it out apparently. This truck would be a great test and then there is one for every fill up that claims to burn better so you use less def fluid and it stays clean.
