I have done some dedication videos to DURAN DURAN AND ARCADIA on my channel for songs they did not shoot videos to. Including , EDGE OF AMERICA, KEEP ME IN THE DARK, NEW MOON ON MONDAY, TOO LATE MARLENE. LAND. LADY ICE. I CAN SEE CRACKS IN THE PAVEMENT
I was a massive fan of Duran Duran during their prime in the 80's.. I still love Duran Duran from the 80 's.. .my favorite band of all time..but this not as good as the 80's not even remotely close. They are older. thats just reality.
Hey Mate...when you consider other vocalists like..Vince Neil of Motley Crue...sloppy fat, mumbles vocals (IF they are not Lip Sync). David Lee Roth who's singing voice is not only completely cracked & gone...yet was on VH last tour w/peeps paying big $ to hear his tone deaf voice. Taking these two into the mix...Simon's voice is not only still perfect, but exceptional for any mans age. Cheers Charlie Simon.
Nick never loses his mysteriously androgynous look, he has always been light years ahead in looks and music, he has a real orchestra under his fingers, which he commands at will ... Nick "the controller" 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍💛💚💙💗💖
Cristina, Nick suppressed the guitar input from Dom in the new material, AndyT is severely needed to balance him out with the new stuff, their music and live shows are much better w AndyT in the band!! Still wish them the best w new album coming out/ tour!
oh yeah absolutely, I miss Andy too, he was my favorite after Nick. Not even Warren equaled him. I never understood the real reason why he walked away from the band.
Nick was always the one I had the crush on first. But my other friends each liked one other guy in the band, so I could not like Simon or John or Andy or Roger! It was a "pact" we all made as 13 year olds! Lol!!XOXOXO XOXOXO XOXOXO
I have seen Duran Duran in concert seven times and they have yet to disappoint me. In my youth my bedroom walls were covered with 301 posters of this fabulous band. Yes Simon still sounds fantastic, yes John Taylor is definitely the most underrated bass player of his time, and Nick roads deserves credit for being one of the greatest keyboard players of his time. Still my favorite group of all time 💜
OH MY GOD!!! I found one!!! One of the original DD fan girls who screamed in their youth over these lads. AND you still like them Mrs. Mathison? Outstanding!! I had thought that so many of those young females grew up and out of DD. All I seem to find are other guys into DD which is funny given how they started. Hat is off to you ma'am.
... agreed... because we STILL have great fun listening to these masterfully energetic tunes that stand the test of time ! Their songs evoke instant happiness through timeless nostalgia !
@@miguelhelfer1 Not me. Never was a fan of Andy's. When Warren came to DD it was like a breath of fresh air but now that Dom has been with them longer than Andy and Warren. And Dom is a great replacement for both guitarists!
@@zanhedralite118 let's be honest & fair. Dom has been in the band longer than Andy Taylor. Andy's stint with the band was a blink of an eye in the bands total existance. His behavior was eratic & unstable. Brown has been a reliable contributor and deserves to be recognized. Even Warren was innovative contributor. Do not get me wrong, Andy was great for the time in the band, but is not be all guitarist for DD
I'm 51, and I still love you all !! Duran Duran was adored in México for several years. Every boy dressed like Simon Le Bon y girls dyed hair like Nick, and others had haircuts as John! Greetings from México City 🇲🇽
Duran Duran have been one of my favorite bands since I was in elementary school, and they still sound as great as they ever have!!!!!🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁💯💯💯💯💯
Wow, now at the present, future is even better to look forward to, what a band, impeccable taste in music and fashion, John Taylor, the best bass guitar ist ever,as you were boy's.
Those guys know what they are doing any young bands starting out look at them they will be first to tell you dont listen to anyone believe in ur talent it will shine through, saying this as a bass player took it up because of JT 👍
i totally agree,... ok nobody come over Andy (he had such a big rock additude - i miss that explosive part in DD's music since his left - also after his left from the reunion on "astronaut", - its a pity he can't harmonize with the rest of the band, and take the "rock" part with him), i like Warren's or Nile's funky additude, but it's a little bit too funky in my opinion - but also worth for the evolution of the band. Dom have both of them - rock and funk - and he plays the guitar fantastic! so please DD, ask him if he like to get a member... but on other side, is this really so important? Main thing is, he plays in the band 🙂
Duran Duran are still uber cool. Planet Earth transcends time, it hasn't aged and still has so much energy. I hope they come back to Australia sometime soon!!
Dx2 on Eiffeil tower.. rad! Is Simon wearing a black TKK t shirt under his sparkly blazer? Bless their new romantic hearts.. they still look and sound great! 🎉
Yes I spent countless enjoyable hours playing lead guitar with these guys.. right w/em same speed and everything! I even did the riff the way JT did it.. highly processed w/root & octave at the same time..! 😂❤
Wow, very cool stage backdrop for this song! The greycast sky gives an almost apocalyptic look that highlights the song lyrics "look now, look all around... there's no sign of life." However there are signs of life waking up inside at this concert... Duran Duran bringing the light and love back to us all! 💜
Duran Duran , As a long time fan of yours since I was 10 yearsold when I first heard Plant Earth at my local skating rink let my congratulate you for getting into the Rock Hall of Fame! My gosh! Your posters covered my bedroom walls and my locker at school as a teen. My first album I bought at 11 was Rio ! shameless to say my first older man crush or say "in love" with at the time was between Simon or John..lol..Your band was my 7th grade report on current music at the time in 85! I received an "A" ..it was well written an excellent oral report according to my music teacher Mr. Valentino was rather impressed the information I had on about the band! Wherever did I find my information he asked me? I said I read it in Tiger beat! The poor man didn't know what the magazine was!..he was rather old (to me ) at the time at 63. The day I found out I was pregnant with my son (March of 93) You were there with me..I had MTV on and it was the premier of your video Ordinary Word when my doctor called because I thought I was sick with the flu. I was scared didn't know what to think..i watched the video..the words was like a coming of age song for me..and I would be a good mom! when I got married in 1993.( I was 21 at the time) The DJ we hired thought it would be fun after dinner have a trivia questions from 80s bands..that made time to set things up for dancing. if you won you got received tickets to a local amusement park.. guess what all the questions were mostly about!? Duran Duran! I was the only person with their hand up! Guess who could only the question..me..I gave the tickets to my uncle and his wife because my aunt was never on a rollercoaster ! My aunt at the time was 53..she had a blast at the park! I have 4 children ..1 boy 29..girl 23..twins girls 20 ..who love your music because of me! You have all somehow been there as the sound track of my life ! Thank you❤❤❤ You all deserve the best! Congratulations ! Thank you for bringing such joy fill with very happy memories to this fan Helen❤
Just heard this on RADIO 2. Could not believe it at the end when I heard Jo Whiley say it was live! Simon’s vocals are unbelievable still and Andy’s lead guitar makes the track sound so contemporary.
