You are so right Jo. I'm 66 now and my wife, my son and I are going to see New Order and The Pet Shop Boys on September 17th 2022. My son loves our 80's music.
@@noneofyobizness8439 I remember watching a top of the pops Christmas special when I was visiting family in the UK - (circa 1984 or 5 )Jules Holland introduced the band and said - "Right you are - here they are - Simon Le Bon, lots of people called Taylor and some other geezer!!" Too funny.
This song is timeless from their first album the whole album is amazing this song was not a big hit for them when the album first came out but it is one of my favorites from them I am glad so many people live it as much as I do.
This was the best performance track from their 2004 USA tour in Costa Mesa CA. Absolutely blew the place out. That was the best night for pure rock and roll I've ever experienced.
Nick Rhodes un maestro en los sintetizadores.!! ..John Taylor impecable ..Simon notable como mantiene su registro vocal No recuerdo el nombre del otro bajista..De otro mundo esta cancion en este registro !!..fantastico el baterista.!!
I used to work at the Swap Meet in the parking lot of the amphitheater in Costa Mesa. I remember asking the lady whose stall I was helping to run that day if I could get paid a little earlier so I could go buy the new Wham 45 single "Wake me up Before You Go-Go" and she was like, you're gonna come back right? So I went and got it and yes, I did go back and finish out my shift. Duran Duran were also pretty much dominating at the time also.
Questa canzone è un capolavoro. È sempre attuale nonostante abbia ormai 31 anni. Salvo alcune eccezioni la musica di adesso è imparagonabile a quella dei Duran Duran.
Saw them in 1984 at 15..i cried..then in 87ish..maybe 88..roger and andy were gone..i cried..saw them in 2017. I was 48 years old..i still cried...but i could legally drink and i didn't have a curfew
They opened with this in 1982 when I saw them in St. Louis,..Simon jumped over the entire drum set/drummer landing on the floor in front as the flash pods exploded. Amazing show!
My god I love Duran Duran Any tour in the future will be well received, you saved my life at a time when I truely needed salvation, Sounds insane however, The band gave me hope 💕
@@voodooranger593 YES! I know you've seen it but anyone who hasn't, catch John Taylor on, Duran Duran channel breaking down the song and his bass lines. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7bclTo8MyT8.html
One of my All Time Bands Ever, I’m 56 Now, Grew Up Listening to Duran Duran & Many Others during the 1980’s, My only Regret is that I never Got the Chance to see Simon & His Pals LIVE !! I Saw The likes of Queen, U2, Madonna, Genesis/Phill Collins, Simple Minds & Many Others. What an Era For Music !!
i am 57 more of the 80 s goth type but still liked some new romantic and new wave. i am so glad i lived during this socoal and musical time. incredible artist and nothing was sampled or synched. real and raw talent.
@@sl4983 How was it ? I am sure they put on a fantastic show ! Personally, I cannot afford to travel to see their concert, and rent a vehicle, because mine was vandalized. I am still waiting for financial restitution.
Once in a while someone asks you what your favorite band is, what your favorite song is, what song would you want to take with you to a desert island....just forward them this. Every single person is amazing on that stage. If you have ever lost someone and had to figure out how to go on in a world without them, this was a hand reaching out-
Thank you For the Comments & Likes on my Comments, Another Great Band of the Time wer “The Police” Sting & All of the Guys there, I never got the Chance to see Them Live !! How Many Songs of there’s do we Remember, Plenty more Bands to Remember during that Time & Not to Forget some Great Solo Singers like “Elton John” & “Cliff Richard” I saw Elton Live !! In Aberdeen. Speaking of Aberdeen, How Coulde I Forget about “Annie Lennox” (Originally From Aberdeen) what a Singer along With Dave Stewart they Created, “The Eurythmics” what a Band.
Not There biggest fan in the 80s but my then Girlfriend loved them ! Got Tickets for Leeds Arena on 4th May 2023 to take My now Wife of 25 Years to see them ❤
I bought this cassette as an import before it was released in the US. Actually RIO was relesed domestically( in US) first ( thanks to the success of their videos on MTV) and then this "first" album was re-released to the North American markets, with the addition of the song "Is there something I should know"
1980's The first time I heard this song Planet Earth was after I bought the record in a Music store that collected all recorded music. It was an amazing find.
Jeder der in der Zeit mit solchen Bands aufgewachsen ist und sie mal live erleben konnte damals kann froh sein, sowas wird es nicht mehr geben leider 😭😭
This IS Planet Earth. And by whatever chance, this song is a GLORIOUS call of humanity to God. She hears and She answers infinitely with an Ocean of Love and Grace. It is fabulous, fabulous fabulous and again FABULOUS. Thanks guys!
This was a heck of a show I deeply regret missing out on. Simon turned into a Spaniard with his beard. I hate beards in general, but it suits him here John is so vibrant here, like WOW! ❤️
