The Durg-Raipur-Arang Expressway is a transformative 92-kilometer, six-lane, access-controlled greenfield expressway under construction in Chhattisgarh, India. Part of the ambitious Bharatmala Pariyojana initiative, this expressway is set to revolutionise connectivity in the region. It seamlessly links the major industrial hubs of Durg & Raipur with the emerging town of Arang, strategically bypassing the bustling Raipur city centre. This will significantly reduce travel time & congestion, fostering smoother traffic flow & enhanced transportation efficiency.
The expressway is a vital component of the larger 1,854-kilometer Mumbai-Kolkata Economic Corridor , further emphasising its significance for trade & commerce. It will provide a crucial impetus to the region's economic development, promoting industrial growth, facilitating logistics, & unlocking new opportunities for businesses & communities alike.
Currently, the expressway is under construction with significant progress already made in land acquisition & the awarding of construction contracts. The target completion date is set for March 2025, & upon completion, it promises to usher in a new era of connectivity, prosperity, & accessibility for Chhattisgarh.
