Of course. Igor was a deatheater at that time he went to Hogwarts just like Snape was in the past. They have a past and not the best one. And Snape is suspicious of Igor because he thought he will tell Voldemort something. Snape wanted to protect the school and the people within. So that's why he gave him the death stare the whole time.

Ironically enough in the movie the other schools got there the same night as Hogwarts students, but in the books, the other schools get there on Halloween, so that would make sense in the books

@yaowsers77 I'm not too sure, I think in the tournament, Durmstrang wanted to stand out looking more masculine and tough because it seemed that only males showed up while Beauxbaton wanted to appear as more beautiful and (idk how to put this but-) posh by having just females, and some of them were Veela

@@arionbc, Krum tells Hermione that they are almost in the area of the polar night. Durmstrang must therefore be almost in the Arctic Circle. Along with his description of the landscape, it should be Norway.
