Description and History of Durthu Legendary Lord of the wood elves. If you have seen my missing legendary lords wood elves edition bear in mind their will be some cross over due to shared history.
If the end times are ever retconned and warhammer fantasy is brought back I would love to see a story about Durthu beginning to heal from his sorrow. Damn it games workshop bring back fantasy!
Well, he's a grimdark being in a grimdark world. You'll find a lot of heroes and lords in the warhammer world who just really don't have much luck going their way. Wulfrik the Wanderer, Helmann Ghorst, Boris Todbringer, there are so many. Unfortunately for Durthu, if GW were ever to bring back WFB the last thing they'd ever think of doing is making him happier.
Judging by by the fact that there is a way for him to recover from all of his pain might mean that GW was considering it at some point; but as you said, the chances of him being happy are probably the last thing on their mind next to them getting rid of AOS and lowering their miniature prices.
Unlike Lord of the Rings, Forgotten Realms and WarCraft, everyone is a jerk or messed up in Warhammer. Even the usually heroic Dwarves are depicted here as lawful stupid with a self-destructive obsession with grudges. It's like what if the high fantasy genre met british dark humor.
The warhammer fantasy lores are just so fascinating. It just doesn't get old and boring. I could listen to many battle and hero and nation lores and just not get bored. Kinda feels familiar to Warcraft lores and Lord of the Rings lore too. God, I love medival fantasy stuff
This is about 3 year late, but anyways, for the upcoming wood elves dlc imagine if they updated durthus campaign to something like Luthor harkon restoring his mind but instead its alot more peaceful. The player get to choose what way to walk an so on to either lead durthu in the direction of peace or war. For example if you work towards restoring his kind mind he can become really powerful but the more you take advantage of that power in war the more consumed durthu once again becomes with darkness. It would I think create a pretty cool story for us durthu lovers and also give him an unique play style instead of mish mash potatoes of everything and everyone that his campaign is today. But what do I know I'm just brainstorming on a 3 year old video lol
I love your work that you put into these videos man, but I have one question why title the video as durthu lore when half the video is about wood elves and forest lore in general? not complaining just saying maybe title updates. thanks again :)
Hi hungry cub glad you enjoy the videos. The focus is Durthu but his story needs context. I take the approach that any one of my videos could be someone's first foray into Warhammer lore. If I just spoke about Durthu's direct actions people just wouldn't know what was going on. It would jump from him and forest spirits revealing themselves to the elves to Durthu and Adanhu fighting Ariel. People would have a lot of questions if they didn't know what was going on already. So it's all just in effort of putting together a complete narrative for new comers that hopefully doesn't hamper the experience for people who already know some of what's going on. Admittedly to do this I had to go off the direct topic of Durthu to set the scene for him later but I don't think it went to the point of the title needing changed. There are a number of aspects of the history of the wood elves I gloss over or ignore. I hope that explains my thinking on the topic and why I went into a bit of the general history of the wood elves. Thanks for the feed back and hope you continue to enjoy the videos.
Flekk Bone Gnawer Yeah, Arch used to make good videos, but his constant insertion of SJW and politic jokes where they aren't needed dragged down the video and were stale and done to death, and I haven't watched Arch in probably over a year at this point, so I imagine it's only gotten worse since I've been gone.
