@@wrathpsp As far as Dusk Diver its decent for the price. I honestly haven't sunk my teeth in it too much because I get caught up Smash most of the time but I can it's a well made game if you like the Mosou genre. If you mean Bullerstorm, man it's great, I play as Duke Nukem and just the dialogue alone makes it worth it. Combat is required some adjusting since I'm so used to COD but other than that I had a good time with it
I appreciate reviews like this, where you can talk about a games flaws but also talk about why you still enjoyed the game despite those flaws. Most games aren't perfect, but doesn't mean they aren't fun.
I wasn’t too sure about the game. But you’ve sold me man. I like the relation to the old ps2 days where like you said even more budgeted games could stand out. Love that!
I don't know how I just today learned about this game. I saw the PS4 version at the store today and then found it was on Steam and put it on my wishlist. Then I find out it actually is on Switch so now I may have to hunt down a physical copy. I typically love these sort of hack n slash brawler b tier games so it is right up my alley!
It's an interesting game because it's very different. I really don't have time to play long games anyway. I love the artwork and how they did the city. The costumes and unlockables are more interesting than many other games also. It's a bit slow at first but too many impressive aspects to ignore or put down. This might be the only JRPG I end up not regretting putting hours into and beating that is not a Niholm Falcom game. I really liked Tokyo Xanadu and some things about this game still blow me away.
Oh my, thank you for delivering this great review! Will definitely buy it now. Mindless fun is sometimes best kind of fun, especially in autumn. Kind of reminds me of refined version of Akiba's trip mixed with dashes of persona and warriors games (and shenmue). I think price point on this game seems kind of spot on also, at least for me!
Same here, I waited for the release date since the first teaser trailer, preordered it the moment I saw it available for preorder at the local GameStop, and now can’t wait for Nov 19th.

@@Nodexis True, but there are 3 ways to get it in the west: 1. Create a Japanese Paypal (I've yet to figure out how) 2. Order it from an international retailer like Amazon (about $100) or eBay ($93 deal) 3. (Least recommended) Pay for some heavily marked up Japanese giftcards that will mame you buy more nintendo points than what you need. The game is roughly 9,680 yen (about $90) but you'll end up paying a bit over $100 for the upcharge. Any way you look at it, it's more expensive than your average $60 game
When I know this game is set in the area of 西門町 in Taiwan. I’m intrigued. I like the atmosphere there as a tourist. I’m going to hold out on this one for now. As I bought too many games recently 😂
Was a bit torn on if this was worth the price tag or not, but you've absolutely sold me on it - your review is in depth enough to get into the gritty bits of gameplay and gives lots of comparisons and still manages to not spoil story items. I like the way you presented this. Thank you!

I picked this up on a recent eShop sale, mainly because I remembered how much Jordan enjoyed this game and how much my gaming interests align with his.
Originally it was a low priority due to other stuff we have coming. But after playing for 20 minutes for a quick spin, I changed my mind and had to put this as number 1 priority haha
nice. was waiting for ur review to see if i wanna get the day one edition. the main character reminds me of Yang from RWBY when she power up. normal mode reminds me of Ui from K-on anime
JCookie You realize that girls with flaming her was “WAY” before Yang’s time right? I’m talking like 1980’s here. Or are you stating that you are so young that all you know is Yang to make the comparison?
Kudos to you for using the original Mandarin voice track, especially since the game is set in Taiwan and made by Taiwanese devs. Seems like most streamers/reviewers just gloss over it in favor of the Japanese, which is a shame.
Hi I would like to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH for knowing how to pronounce the game's location correctly. Its so uncomfortable when some youtubers don't know how to pronounce the locations of games and butcher it up till it sounds so terrible and repeats the word multiple times in their video. Gosh. So glad I got this pre-ordered and am getting it on the SWITCH! Sony is so puritanical now that they censored the thumbnail on their official launch trailer.
Nice review and will definitely pre-order now. Never even heard of it but it got my attention as I love beat em up brawlers. I also tend to like the Dynasty Warriors series so this is a must buy. Thank you for reviewing a game a never heard of as I'm preordering it now.
8:26 hold the phone, you saying that the day one has the art book and pins, I got that but, was there DLC in the Day One release of the game!? I got day one and only got the pins and art book. Edit: so I turned the box inside out and either the day one edition is just the pins and art book or mine did not come with a DLC code. I’d imagine it’s the former and when you said that it was not meant to be taken as DLC would be included in the day one but would be available for purchase separately.

It's the first time watching your channel so I dont know if you own a PS4 too, but another budget brawler that looks awesome and you may like it judging bu this review is Uppers for PS4. A PAL release was scheduled for march 2019 but has been pulled to december 2019 or maybe next year.

This looks like a fun time killer. Would pick it up physically, but at 40$ I feel like it’s a little too much. If it was between 20-30 it would be a great pick up. So I’ll have to wait for a the inevitable sale or price drop it’ll get
Eh will likely pick it up later. Right now i'm too busy with Trails of Cold Steel 3 though...not to mention a physical version will release will come out later in November (since i personally prefer physical versions for games, especially on Switch since even with the additional SD card there's usually not a huge amount of space especially if a larger game I want turns out to be digital only in the future). As for me B rated jrpgs usually wind up beating AAA games for me 9/10 times so this looks like something i'll probably enjoy for the most part. Hell in 2017 some of my favorite games were Akiba's Beat and Valkyria Revolution and both get a huge amount of flack for being spin offs of another series that change up things a bit when it came to art style, combat, etc. As for my favorite game that year it was a tie between Tokyo Xanadu and YS8, both excellent games but would likely be considered B rated games due to their graphics (which can be described as either late PS2 or early PS3 level graphics) even if their writing and combat were both S tier imo.

Love these types of games, so I'm definitely picking this up! Since I'm in the U. S., and I want a physical copy, I'll be waiting until November, but hopefully that gives them time to send out a patch or two to fix some of the issues you mentioned. Might just preorder this, in order to get the bonuses, and then give it to my wife so she can wrap it up and "surprise" me with it on Christmas! 😉

Is it repetitive in the sense that you just press a single button over and over, like in Oninaki ? Or is it repetitive because of how you progress, for example beating the same kind of enemy, followed by exposition, then more beating ?

Great review, but you kept talking so much, that you never gave a chance for me to listen to the audio myself. There was rarely a moment I could listen to the audio myself.
i used to really want this, but it sounded more like a bore chore to play and ii saw it for 75% off digital and physical and still said no, glad you liked it tho

It seems that the Japanese version on eShop has DLC, but they are missing from the NA eShop version. However, the game is more expensive (without DLC) on Japanese eShop. Is there difference between the versions?
Saw this game awhile back and I'm ready for it. Good review also! Question if I may, now I'm looking at plenty of sites and from what I've been told retailers don't get this game until the 19th of Nov but online says the 29th. Soooo, does anyone have any idea what the actual release date is?
Yeah my 'official' verdict is a 7.5 for everyone, but that all depends one if the words used resonate with your tastes. It could be lower for some like you.
Not even funny coming here and check the replies...jesus christ🤣 I would agree with you for a 7.5 if it was more polished than this but i understand. I actually like some things in this game and switch ver is not that bad👌 hungry with battery but its ok.
