I headbanged on this map so much to this track I couldn't focus on the ebenoes and ended up stupidly getting myself killed a few times due to it... NO SHAME
I think this is my favorite level. I like the gameplay, the music, and the sinister atmosphere/concept. The sounds of the reactor cores as you approach them also add to the dire feeling of the level.
The double fast fire totem + ssg you get at the start of Brimstone Ghetto is exactly to the beat of the music that starts as soon as you fire it, and it has to have been on purpose.
What I loved about this level is that it felt more like a multiplayer arena map... And it's amazing. You can do a lot of things on this map, and it's pretty open with a consistent amount of enemies appearing everywhere. The nusic just makes it more fun to play, I appreciate the soundtrack dude, thanks.
It's got a path you need to follow like every other level but it all centers around the arena in the middle of it and everything you do to progress just causes more baddies to pour in, I love that.
elguitarTom side chain compression techniques with a ghost kick drum on accents and a very musical compressor into a fairly transparent limiter. I also bus lots of sections.
Just finished the game for the first time a couple days ago and damn, what a fucking masterpiece. The gameplay combined with the style, atmosphere and god tier music makes it THAT good. I expected to like it but did not expect to like it THAT much. Amazing work with the soundtrack Mr. Hulshult this one is my favorite song. I will one day beat it on Duskmare.
Well whta I'm saying is it's like Episode 3 being called the nameless city, it has multiple inspirations but it probably wouldn't have been called that if it wasn't for the quake/doom level.
It's referring to the reactor which appears to be tearing the ground of Dusk apart, likely in finding more Ruins, and Artifacts either for the cult leader or their dark lord. Erebus referring to a "great volcano" with the intention of leading to the underground ruins (or Erebus as in the underworld) Damn that's some double meaning right there.
Doing this level with a conga line of enemies following me during a Pacifist run of the level was hectic and I was honestly surprised that none of them killed themselves on explosive barrels on me.
the beginning sounds like a horror chase scene ngl, like imagine this playing while a werewolf or a shadow with white eyes chasing you through a dark environment
There are definitely moments where you are fearful for your life and just feel like running in this game but there are also plenty of moments where you feel like more than just a guy trying to survive. The music makes you feel like you're deep inside this conspiracy for a reason. To destroy it and all the evil creatures it has created. >=)
GOD I loved this level so much that after I finished it for the first time I went back to the main menu and replayed it like six times MOSTLY because of how BADASS this song is and how FUN IT IS to use those bounce pads and cross-map snipe the Welders and reign hell from above with the Riveter
When I played dusk, I just couldn't hit the "quicksave" button because I didn't want to interrupt the amazing soundtrack, so I had to play entire levels without saving, in Ciero Miedo difficult, and I blame Andrew Hulshult for it, because his music is so awesome and I can't bring myself to interrupt it even if it's for half a second.
This is one of the best levels in the game. After killing all the cultist scum I took a good look around. Once I finish my campaign on Rome: Total War I'm going to give this game another playthrough.
