DUST 514: Fight Your Own War 

The greatest game ever conceived by mankind... gone...

Dust 514 was one of the best games I've ever played. I love that game so much I wouldn't care if they brought it back with the old graphics, I'd still play it day and night like before.

I really miss DUST 514 when it was in the PS3, I'm already 45 yrs old and the sad thing is that CCP Games will never bring it back.

I know what you may be thinking, How fun can a free PS3 game actually be? I am telling you, this game is EXTREMELY fun! I'm not just talking about fun enough for a total free to play game, I'm talking as nearly as thrilling as any Halo if not as good as. The game does have in game purchasing of credits used to purchase different modules and weapons but this is only to get early access to them instead of spending the skill points to be able to purchase the regular type, and the match outcome is not dictated by these purchased weapons unlike other like games I have seen. You can choose what you will become with extreme variety, also unlike other games. You can choose to use your skill points to mow down opponents with the Heavy Machine Gun, keep at a distance with the sniper rifle, become a vehicle specialist and blast through defenses, or support your teammates with a large variety of equipment ranging from mobile spawn points (Drop Uplinks) and ammo resuppliers (Nanohives), to equipment to revive killed teammates (Nanite Injectors) and equipment to restore an allies armor (Armor Repairers) and much, much more. You can install different modifications to every fitting to maximize efficiency in any given fitting with shield/armor rechargers/extenders, or modules to extend weapon damage, and more.

This is what it could've been if it was released on PC instead of the incredibly limited PS3 platform in the dying days of psn access.

How this is not on PC i cannot fathom...

I like how they make the respawn and skill system make sense by saying you're a clone. As Nerd Cubed says, it's the little things...

by far, the best trailers CCP has made, it was good looking and explained exactly what the game was about and why it was unique.

I have been playing games for 25 years now, and Eve Online and Dust514 are certainly the icing on the cake. Sheer genius.

I use to run orbital strikes for the dust players, it blew my mind how us EVE players could impact DUST games....i still think about DUST 514 to this day

"EVE Online's spin-off FPS coming in 2018 Unlike Dust 514, Project Nova won't be connected to EVE Online at first." They plan to focus on gameplay first, integration later. I'm pumped.

CCP, I hope you can make this game alive again. There's now a very good FPS market. You can improve the graphics and the flexibility of player's movement, that will definitely be better.

God, I saw this back in the day but didn't have a chance to play it. Reminded of this after watching the DTRH video on Eve Online. Gald Vanguard is bringing it back somewhat

I know this vid was posted in 2013 but i only started playing EVE Online about a week ago and the game is pretty good... If this game was on steam I would play that 2 ... these 2 games would be the perfect Ground-to-Space game ever ... its a shame its not on the pc as well.

Bring this Jewel Back CCP with modern Tech of today.

Keep in mind that this is CCP's first attempt at a Console game let alone a FPS. Although I do not enjoy the lack of Customization as you'd see in Eve [Never played Blacklight Retribution] but as time goes on, and more Modules and Items become available, hopefully it will give us more Option, which could lead to a more indepth Customization. Personally I would like to Customize Guns aswell, different Scopes ect.

CCP has finally FULLY made the idea that an individual can affect the outcome of the sandbox we know as New Eden. Dust 514 was the final piece, where the battles are conducted by those individual mercenaries taking roles to change the course of the game's history. ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!!

I like how even in DUST official commericals that the character movement is so choppy that at 1:30 the merc that shoots the sniper actually glitches out of screen instead of a slow steady movement. Expect nothing but that during every game of every second of every round in DUST514.

Maybe so, but before Dust was released, CCP's answer to being on PC was "You never know" so there is a slight possibility, and it will all depend on how well the Game does on Console. They wanted to try and bring in a new Crowd of people, but if that Crowd doesn't come, then Plan PC might take effect. Dust isn't really something that can just come and go seeing though it's integrated with Eve, so they'd need to do anything to keep it alive.

Nobody I've explained it to has a problem understanding it. Even my grandmother seems to get it: there's a game called EVE with spaceships on the computer, and a game called Dust 514 with future soldiers on the console, what happens in one game affects you in the other game. I mean, my grandmother is 93, and she just says "Oh, that's nice, I'm going to watch my soaps now", but I'm pretty sure she does get it.

The Game was already mostly developed on the Xbox 360, they showed Gameplay footage on their Fanfest using the 360. Microsoft ended up wanting the Dust servers to be on their Servers, which means, the entire Eve Online Universe would have had to move to the Microsoft Servers instead of their own... They also wanted CCP to charge for any Expansions Updates they bring out, which if you know CCP, are always Free.

Ill agree with you on the matchmaking. Pubs should be matched according to SP amounts. As for the Skills themselves its a long term investment. This is not another CoD or Battlefield, it is rewarding the players who actually spend their time and work hard in the game. Both of CCPs games are 5-10 year long plans. Go take a look at how long it will take you to learn to pilot a Titan in EVE.

I'd say "all" is a rather strong word to be used here, young padawan. There are lots of free games out there. And I'm not talking about "free-to-play" mainstream games, I'm talking about indie games, political games and many other games that are around free of charge and without any kind of donation requirement or store. These are games, too. It doesn't need a big company name behind them to be one :)

No, the game was already partly developed on the Xbox, they showed Gameplay footage at Fanfest awhile back for the XBox. The reason CCP went away from Xbox was because Microsoft wanted Dust to be controlled on their servers. As CCP's concept required them to have Dust and Eve on the same Server, that would have meant the entire Eve Online Universe would also have to be moved to Microsoft. Sony however game them the Option to have full Control over their server.

It's because they have a PC game, its called EVE Online. This is their break into console gaming and cross platform gaming, that is its sole and only purpose, and hopefully bring more players to EVE along the way. :)

Can't wait for drones to be added. That would make the game much better.

As a Solo player yes, as a Team Player [what Dust is about] you can easily work out a tactic to make it work and benefit everyone.

You know, back before BETA was released, we were told that you had to buy your Clones and keep them updated like in Eve... That was when CCP had full control over how it was being created on the XBox [Before Microsoft went full anul]. Then they signed the contract to Sony's Exclusive and many of those little things were changed to try and be "less tedious" for it's Playerbase. I enjoy Eve because of it's Complicated Aspect, and the changes in Dust just don't make it seem that intense anymore.

Just want to point out that Dust is a MMO FPS, and yes PvE will be implemented in the game, there has been many Dev Blogs about it aswell as it being mentioned in a couple of Fanfests. Off the top of my head I'm pretty sure it was meant to be the next update, but with the Games condition at the moment being buggy and all it might be pushed back abit.

This game is a sandbox. That means someone with a bigger shovel can come and bury your shit. Most players I know dont use prototype gear more then 5 or so lives per round. Even at 5 its extremely easy to cost more to play a round the make from non-contract earnings. I was part of the dust tourney this year at fanfest, and spoke personally to proto users all over. They use militia almost all the time because its free. Skill up.

Ce jeu me manque. Je suis parti après sur Défiance2013, rien à voir, même la communauté était différente (bien souvent plus personnelle). Dust514 était LE jeu FPS RPG qui aura ranimé mon envi de gamer. J'attends (et espère) une suite avec impatience. CCP, le VR c'est bien, mais ça ne vaudra jamais un bon gros Dust514. Et l'idée de relié EVE et lui reste une excellente idée. À poursuivre. Note aux fan ; en attendant PlanetSide est une bonne alternative.

The players are put together depending on their Skill Point Level, not the Gear. So if the Gear is letting people down, then it's a sign to adjust the fitting. If you play Eve Online, then you know that you wouldn't go into a Fight with a weak Fit unless you fit that specifically to work together as a Group. It's the same as Dust. If your not doing Team work, have a strong fitting, if your working together, than vary the fitting to suit the needs.

Oh man this game is going to be so epic in the near future when they add more epic equipment and etc to the game. Right now my PS3 is broken sadly :(

CCP will continue to improve Dust 514. Remember, in Dust 514 your not just fighting one battle, many and I mean many players are fighting in the same time. I understand that alot of us are experiencing Bugs but its ok because CCP will release more updates and not every game is perfect. Dust 514 is still the greatest game. I hope they increase the player cap to 20 vs 20 or 32 vs 32. I saw that on Wiki.

In EVE they managed to put all the things together to give the solo- and nullsec content and they did it GOOD, EVE still gets new players as well. In DUST they dont have any solo content, they dont have time to fix it (unless they do something crazy in 3 month, but obviously thats not coming), they are on a "old" generation consoles (PS4 etc). I believed in CCP before and they made me buy ps3 just for DUST, dont get me wrong, but from what I see they are doing - things are going definetely south

I feel like this had trouble because it came a long at the end of the PS3 lifescycle? I feel this and Killzone 2 were the only reason I kept the PS3 going well into the PS4 era (that the PS3 was great for PS2 games). Saw an article on a new EVE FPS coming, hopefully they get a bit from this. The idea of ships in EVE doing the orbital strikes was pretty cool... also now I know why I had so many Cormorants stashed lol.

Sony can't stop CCP from doing a PC version, true. However, that doesn't mean that CCP gets to choose what platform it is on. They may have wanted it to be on Xbox 360 as well, but only Sony gave them the freedom to do what they wanted with Dust 514. They could put it on PC, but then they'd be competing with their own product, EVE. EVE isn't on consoles, so it's an open market for them.

EVE online is my favourite game, I wanna get this though.

You know there is Mouse and Keyboard support for it now. Plus the game is million times better than when you tried the closed beta.

give it time. Took CCP 10 years to get EVE where it is today. DUST is still a baby compared to its big 10yo brother and will grow up with time

OK, So now that we have the ground troops, and the space troops... the books, the lore, and the story line... How much longer do we have to wait for a Hollywood Movie?!? :D

I also think the reason why they haven't already released it on PC as at the time of development on Dust 514, CCP were also developing world of darkness and therefore lacked the resources to also develop for PC

We need this for the PC..

It's a skill for Destroyer class ships, vessels just above frigate size. Fleets in orbit get a notification for the orbital strike when Dust players request one. So you can have other ships in space trying to take down the destroyers that are responding to the request.

It had a tough learning curve, but basic armor and gear can still take out a proto set if you're careful.

Dust players come back too. They are also clones. That's what Dust is, capsuleer cloning tech applied to elite teams of ground soldiers.

Damn, I never played this game properly. And I didn't even knew that the orbital attacks were an actual EVE Online player helping you...

I play both dust:514 and eve online i have been in hundreds of space fights in eve and thousands of land fights in dust they care both very suspenseful games

This is how they tell you, "We are not ready to talk about our plans yet." It does not mean it is not going to be released on PS4.

CCP or the New Eden Universe is not about Separating Pro's from New Players, we all play together, fight together, and each other. They already have a Match Making System going that goes from your Skills Point Level, so if you are failing, then try and revise what could be going wrong.

I wish I could play this, It looks awesome, All I have is an Xbox 360 And a PC.

I wouldn't really call this a Trailer either, but a preview that explains what DUST514 is. A DUST514 trailer, I would say Gathering Forces is the one.

A Space-MMORPG and an Space-FPS are two different games. I will only agree with your comment once I can mine Veldspar in Dust 514.
