In the concert Ale does a pre-intro to the opening riff of Dust to Dust, very cool. She also does it on the Spector You Tube channel were she talks about her Spector bass.
The gentleman who comes on stage speaking Spanish is their manager Rudy. Roughly translated he is saying: Brother! Salvation is something that is earned! Let go your hand of resentment and Wake up to a new light within you Although your brothers try to Plunge you into the darkness. On the new album (Keep Me Fed) he acts as the priest marrying Danny in the 'Qué Más Quieres' music video. Ironically, preaching and we go full circle again!
That Rudy, TWs manager and friend. Nowadays, they play the recording, but this was a cool presentation. Rudy can still deliver the speech ;o) - he plays the role of the preacher - same role he plays in the Què Mas Quieres OMV.
Dakota bar! Experience their first album performed live. Even if you don't end up doing a reaction, you should definitely check it out. Also, they have two TEDx talks from several years ago. They're around 20 minutes each, and they perform three songs at each one. A must see for any fan of this band.🤘
@@2twenty The TEDx presentations should be done in order starting with the 2016 one. Not backwards. Because their story starts in that presentation. And doing it that way has more impact.
Their show at Dakota Bar 2018 is a full performance of their first full album, XXI Century Blood, while the 2022 Teatro Metropolitan concert (from which you first watched Dust to Dust) has all but one of the songs of their third album ERROR. The Teatro Metropolitan show is officially available as either a full length recording or as individual uploads for each song, whereas the Dakota Bar video is only as individual uploads.
Just before Pau starts to sing, Dany ‘presents’ Pau. Dany bows to the audience and points at Pau. The gesture seen in other performances of Dust to Dust. At Shiprocked 2024 they performed in the sunlight on a deck of a ship. A close up of Dany pointing to Pau before she sings gives me chills because of Dany’s ‘sinister’ eyes! There we get to see Dany ‘growl’ (“let go!”?) which the camera didn’t capture at the Lunario and at the Teatro Metropolitan. I love this song!
Any concert in Mexico City requires a special effort due to the altitude (about 7350 feet above sea level). This concert was performed the night the full album was released. Parts of it had been released earlier, but not the whole collection of songs. It's a very ambitious project for three teens! I'm glad you revisited this one.
You can check (even from this concert) "Copper Bullets" it's from their previous album but it is also a "story song" and is what sparked Pau's idea of narrating through song. The song is usually sang by Dany, the lunario version is sang by Pau.

I think its a great idea to come back to Dust to Dust. It gives a sense of continuity. The Dakota Bar show is incredible and features their first album. If you think for one minute that their earlier must suffer because they were so young think again. Dome of the best songwriting you've ever heard. Thanks

This is one of the few times we actually SEE their manager Rudy delivering the Priest's sermon at the Queen's funeral. Most times you just hear the original recording. Fun fact: Rudy also plays the Priest at Dany's Wedding in the Qué Más Quieres official music video 😂
I think the girls in this concert did amazing in debuting their new album QOTMS! Even though a lot of people that are getting to know The Warning, think their voices were not strong, perhaps these people have to realize how young they were at the time it took place, and that Mexico City is close to 7300 feet in altitude, which is almost 2000 feet higher than the mile high city of Denver.
There 2 (TED X CONCERT LIVE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NEVADA) Are a killer concert to see their growth as young musicians, There are 3 songs on each show and some talking between songs from the girls giving the audience a little info about the history of the band, both shows are a year apart and the songs are from their first LP (TWENTY FIRST CENTURY BLOOD). Exhausted? The story I heard was that, shortly after the concert, Ale collapsed and was taken to hospital. She was diagnosed with exhaustion and dehydration.

@@lanaeshonestopinion You should do the first presentation from TEDx year 2016 because without the first one there would not have been a second one. They did so good on the first one that they were invited back for the second one plus their story as they tell it starts with the first presentation. I don't understand why people dismiss the first one, its as important as the second one or even more so. Plus you get to see Ale's growth spurt from one year to the next☺
I’ve played the Bass and guitar parts for this, technically it’s not that difficult (none of their stuff is) but it requires endurance, it’s fast and there’s lots of repetitions. The beauty of their songs is that generally speaking they’re not technically difficult but the way the vocals are added and the layering plus great lyrics is what sets them apart from everyone else!
I feel sorry sometimes for Ale who is trying to keep pace with not one but two live wires. If you check out Atlas Rise (a Metallica cover) from the Whiskey GoGo 2019 which they played at the end of a 2 hour marathon you will see poor Ale starting to fade. Poor Ale was only 14 at the time but valiantly fought on to the end of song. Btw it was a truly spectacular performance
I've played the bass part and the riff itself isn't overly difficult, but I do find it hard to keep the pace steady without my hands getting tired. . It's a lot of fast repetition.
