I react to live videos of Ugh and Amour from The Warning. It's Twofer Tuesday! With The Warning. Join this channel to get access to perks: / @victorycast
To truly understand The Warning fan base I think you need to react to the live 2017 Tedx performance just three songs and their speeches is amazing. To see them so young will bring a smile to your face and Pau is at another level even at that age. Like you I just found them looking at a RU-vid video about upcoming bands and was not prepared for what I saw and went down the rabbit hole and can’t wait to see them this year. Will be my first concert in over 30 years!!
Who does The Warning sound like? The Warning. Every song is different. Some metal, some punk, some grunge, even some new wave and some rock ballads. But all have something that says _The Warning._
My favorite The Warning sub-genre is Demented Cheerleader Punk: P.S.Y.C.H.O.T.I.C. When I first heard that, I laughed and laughed, and played it over and over. Great song.
What makes them so enjoyable to watch? Is it their absolute talent, their voices, their playing abilities, their songs, their stunning looks? I could easily say Dany is my favorite because of her powerful voice, her energy, her stage presence, her guitar playing and her star quality, but I could also say Pau is my favorite because of her unmatched energy, her voice, the power she uses to master her drums or I could say the Ale is my favorite as she quietly stalks the stage with thunder in her hands and delivers quick looks and smiles at lucky people starring at her. They are the total package and satisfy everyone's ears, eyes and emotions
@@corneliuscrewe677 I guess watching them play and their home videos kinda makes you feel like you know them and they’re your friends. Being bi-lingual really connects with them because they switch back and forth from English to Spanish and unless you’re bi-lingual you can get lost trying to follow their conversation. They are hilarious and hysterical when they play video games. They are just as entertaining playing video games as playing their music.
@@joelopez843 Funny you mention that, I decided I want to learn Spanish in part because I wish I knew what they are saying. Started my lessons a week ago.
@@corneliuscrewe677 Guess I'll start learning again too. I learned a couple of things by watching the shows Narcos and Narcos: Mexico, but not that much. French is also my first language, so I can guess what they're saying a bit, and it should be easier to learn.
Will say it over and over again, will shout it from the roof tops...been listening to rock/metal for over 55 years....right here is the greatest rock band in decades!!! The Warning🤘🤘⚡⚡⚡⚡
Currently my favorite live band and it's not even close. As a lifelong Rush fan, I see many parallels. Expert musicianship, intelligent lyrics, tight and seamless arrangements, passionate live performances, and a strong heartfelt connection to their audience. I'm older than these three girls ages combined and have no problem with saying they are my favorite current band. The Thunder Child, The Heartbeat, and The Rock Star. Great band, great family, great management, and a huge, huge future.
Exactly regarding Rush! I just turned 67 and they have been my favorite all along. Who would have ever thought 3 young ladies from Mexico could fill the void? You are spot on with the similarities.
I recall my awakening to Rush in about 1984. It was Moving Pictures and Tom Sawyer, which some younger friends brought to me, and inspired a Rush journey for me. In time I bought my Rickenbacker bass and learned a bunch of Rush lines, wishing I had the vocal chops to sing like Geddy. One big difference is that Rush didn't do "love songs". Another is the complexity of their songs in their prog rock era, which is perhaps why I fell in with the more simple (if that is the term) songs of Moving Pictures and subsequent albums. So here comes The Warning, with a very different sensibility. I had seen the Enter Sandman cover along with a few million others, and their appearance on Ellen, but did not follow along in their journey into their own music. Then came Disciple, at CDMX, which fell like an asteroid strike (like a satellite?) Into my consciousness. Wowwowow! Instantly in love. My journey into TWB has been Rush like for me, and yet very different. Many times I find myself with goosebumps during emotional songs, especially when Pau is doing a solo piano and vocal connection with a little room of 8000, in Breathe, or Black Holes, or when Dany does When I'm Alone, alone...
"WE'RE NOT WORTHY" HAPPY 24th BIRTHDAY DANY... You said you wanted to see Pau Drumming.. On RU-vid Type in PAU CAM The Warning and take your pick of shows or songs ENJOY.. 🤟🎶☮️
Rob, your smile says it all !!!! The 5 foot zero stick of dynamite does it again. Brought here by The Warning! Staying because of your musical devotion!
The Warning have a sound that is both new and familiar. It is certainly hard rock, but clearly influenced by their love of metal, punk, K-pop, indie, grunge, funk, and many other genres including classical music. But they have taken those influences and forged a sound that is uniquely their own, and you know that it is them. What does it sound like to me? Refreshing. A sound that has caught my ear and made me interested in rock again after 25+ years of the same old playlist. While together their ages are less than mine, their musical maturity is exceptionally high.
Happy 24th Birthday Dany Ugh is another song from Queen Of The Murder Scene album. As awesome as it is its even better with the whole story. Amour was first inspired by a scene from the movie Ratatouille of all things. Thats all it takes to spark the creativity in them.
@@zamdrist yes Ratatouille the scene from the restaurant where a couple are arguing and Remy passed by the roof then if I remember correctly it's heard a gunshot or a big crash and the couple hugging and kissing
@@zamdrist a really short scene but that was all it took for Pau to get inspired. She has talked about how much she liked the movie but those few seconds resulted in Amour.
UGH! The song that almost NEVER WAS! They were working on it for their concept album QUEEN OF THE MURDER SCENE (commonly referred to as QOTMS) and just couldn’t get it to come together-which is why they said “Ugh” every time they tried to finish it! Thankfully, for all of us who have come to love this song, their father kept pushing them to finish it…and they came up with this masterpiece! They don’t do anything half-ass! Glad you decided to proceed with the Twofer Tuesdays format👍
TW has a very distinct and modern sound, but the grass roots of classic rock, metal, and punk are all present as well, and I love it! Happy Birthday Dany! Love it when she makes her guitar cry like she does at the end of Ugh. And her vocal control at the end of Amour is mesmerizing!
After editing the footage for the concert, they said this performance of Ugh is as close to perfect as they have ever played a song. I am not going to argue with them. 🤘🏻😀
It was such a delight to hear so many tunes from QOTMS in this concert - if only because of their growth and maturity in the years since the songs were originally written and performed. It was a wonderful treat to hear!!
Both songs are just wonderful works of art. The vocals in Amour are just fantastic. Yes Ale’s bass is absolutely incredible. Ugh is one of my favorites.
You’re now deep enough into their catalog to have developed that discerning ear that as you say makes their music recognizable as TW sound. Keep em comin!
And that's exactly why Pau is the Rock Drummer of the year. And Happy Birthday Dany. These young ladies are single handedly making me excited for the future of Rock.
It’s another masterpiece of the incredible concept album "Queen Of The Murder Scene", a masterfully crafted work of art and presented in a very emotional way and full of extraordinary sensations by Dany, Pau and Ale with the same characteristic professionalism carried out in all their projects. This master creation marked a before and after in TW's artistic career, just as it marks those who, opening their senses, allow themselves to be fully enveloped by the art emanating from their music. Knowledge of TW cannot be expressed without having witnessed the total dedication with which DPA accompanied their performance of "QOTMS" at Lunario in CDMX. Thanks and greetings from México!! 🇲🇽 🤘😁✌️
Hell yea, keep going with this. This concert is amazing & it gives you the full range of their catalog. Here’s your 1000th explanation of the songs😊 Yes, it’s “ugh” as any proper teenage girl says it when annoyed. They hated working on it & “ugh” became the working title so they kept it. It’s part of the story in their concept album Queen of the Murder Scene. ‘Amour’, off their latest album ERROR. we call it the ratatouille song because Pau wrote it after seeing a 30 second scene from the movie where the rat witnesses a French couple going from vowing to kill each other straight to makeout session.
From one fanboy to another, it tickles me to see how much you love these ladies. Because I remember your mini-rant before your first exposure to them: "But, been there done that. Seen it all people. I've seen some of the greatest bands in the world. It is going to take a Herculean task for some band I've never heard of, or at least never heard from, to impress me to the point of some googly eyed Fanboy. I wouldn't cross my fingers and hope for that all right, because it's probably never going to happen. The best music is behind us."
9:20 So true that your favorite song from The Warning is the last song you just listened to. Pau wrote Amour based on a short scene from the Pixar movie Ratatouille. Just shows how talented these ladies are to sing primarily in their second language then to sing in French in Amour.
I've been digging on their Dakota Bar concert featuring songs from their first album. Just amazing stuff. Little 13yr old Ale just grooving on her bass and adding a lot more noticeable vocals than she does now. I don't see how they won't end up in the R&R HOF some day.
So glad I'm not the only one obsessed over TW, Their fan base looks to be ultra-loyal. Kind of reminds me of another power trio with a ultra-loyal fan base, RUSH Right now & hopefully for while, The Warning can do no wrong !
Nice Reaction! I love that ending to Ugh, so BADASS! Amour is French and means Love. They all can't be heavy bangers, but Amour is still a great song and Dany really fronts that song great! Happy Birthday Daniella!
Thanks for the reaction! You keep saying the same good things, guess what, we are feeling the same good things, every time we listen to TW. You definitely will have a music video to react to next Tuesday, unless you want to do it sooner!! They are releasing their new song S!CK this Friday, Feb2nd!! We are excited!!!!👏👏😊⚡️
She wasn’t just voted #1 Rock drummer of the year in Drumeo, she was voted #1 Up and coming drummer about 3 months earlier in Modern Drummer all that in the same yr. Wow what an accomplishment, in my 63 yrs of age I have never seen that done 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽. Sorry dude I’m an old Kiss Army die hard member also, but since I’ve been listening to the Warning, they are now my favorite band ever TWA ⚡️⚡️⚡️…
This entire concert is right up at the top of the greatest concerts ever for me, along with Nightwish's 2013 Wacken live. So excited for the girls to be playing Wacken this year. Freaking 82,000 plus audience. Carrazzyyy and a long time coming. :)
Thanks again! You gotta do “when I’m alone” off this concert next time. It brought tears to my eyes no lie. I’m a 50 yr old remodeling contractor, found this band a couple months ago. Been in love ever since, they’re so fun, talented, and hard rocking. 👏👏🎸🎤🎼
FYI, when you have a youtube video paused you can hit the left arrow and it will jump back 5 seconds each time, that way you don't need to worry about clicking too far back on long concert videos
You have to see this band live. I've been to alot of concerts in my day. I went to see The Warning I was up by the front they came out and they were so tiny but my God when they started playing the sound was huge Dany was all over the stage rocking playing lead leaning over stage looking you right in the face it's like they play the catalog of songs where every song is the best never boring everyone singing to them best live rock band out there my favorite band for sure🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥
Yeah, our first The Warning concert we were against the right side of the stage by Dany. The biggest surprise was how tiny Dany is, it didn’t seem that way during the meet and greet, but to see her 5 feet away I was just so surprised. After spending a year watching their videos and their huge sound and her huge personality, it blew me away. There were probably only 200 in the audience but they still rocked out like they were playing to thousands.
Yeah, it just surprised me a little after watching their videos about how tall they were but quickly went away when they started playing. Was lucky to see them in a smaller venue at the Machine Shop in Flint MI before they went on tour with Hale Storm and Pretty Reckless was bummed to have missed them play at the end of 23 yr at St Andrew's Hall in Detroit great venue seen Tonic there in the 80s when they were getting big.
TW has their own sound like Rush had their unique sound, just like any U2 song you pick up immediately. Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Pink Floyd as well. Eminem and Linkin Park to mention some newer.... to create a unique sound and still the songs are different each one of them, master. Note: I am not implying that TW is at same level as the bands I've mentioned or that they have same musician skills (but here they are not far away)
Yes - The Warning does have a distinctive sound where you can tell it is them even if you never heard that song before, not sure how to describe it best. It is a very full sound, whenever I hear one of their songs on SiriusXM Octane it just stands out from the other songs. And I think they have a lot of dynamics with their music, they don't just jam all the equalizers to the top.
Amour (fr), amor (es), amore (it), love (en)... just to clarify. It is one of the best things in this (or any other) universe when all three are singing together!
Suggestion for you if you want to see a ridiculous performance of Ugh search Ugh Rebel lounge. It’s a TWA favorite and I promise you will not regret it. Especially if you want to watch Pau.
With the second song Amour Dany admitted that she was so overwhelmed that she cried singing it! She pours so much emotion into every song, just like they all do! And Pau on those drums on Ugh is just a BEAST!
Speaking of nice bass grooves, you’ll hear a nice groove when you react to Kool Aid Kids. From this same concert is my recommendation and the lyrics have a great message (related to the term “don’t drink the kool aid”).
I don’t know if VC is old enough to remember Keith Moon of the Who, but from the first time I saw Pau playing, her animation and expressiveness while beating the tar out of the kit, reminded me of him. The difference is that Pau is very consistent in every performance whereas Moon apparently didn’t like to play a song the same way every time; and of course, Pau doesn’t actually destroy her kit (or engage in self-destructive behavior) like he did. Great reactions and new song “Sick” dropping on Feb 2! 😎👍
When you get to reacting to their official videos checkout Martirio. Stunningly great. Also, you will be amazed by 21st Century Blood which shows off their talents when they younger. That song and Unmendable from their university of Nevada Tedx live show presents Pau in full animal mode. When Pau is like that I can't take my eyes off.of her.
Thanks for being the person that finally mentions the way Pau just murders that high hat pedal! All you gotta do is lift your foot a bit. Not POWlina!!! Edit... Today is Dany's birthday!!!
Ugh come frome the concept album "Queen Of The Murder Scene" like dust to dust and obviously Qeen of the murder scene you reacted on earlier the album was releasd in 2018 but they wrot probably these songs the previous year (2017) so they have 17, 15 and 12 And Amour is the french word for love and she sing in french "Je t'aime pour toujours ...)
Ugh is such a great track! I am happy they kept working on it and didn't abandon it. All the changes must be hard to play, I guess because I don't play any instruments, but all the changes makes it so much fun to listen to. :) Edited: hehe your jesus christ at Pau drumming 😁
Nice hat man! I live in ND. I discovered TW last January through reaction videos and not a day has gone by since that I don’t partake in TW content. I even went to Denver in May to see then at the Marquis. Absolutely incredible live! The troubles with completing Ugh are well documented but since no one else has mentioned it, those very troubles led to the creation of 2 other songs on the QOTMS album being The One and The Sacrifice. I loved the melody of Ugh almost instantly but it took a little time to warm up to Amour and now I consider it to be a great song. Actually any song where Dany gets to flex her vocal chops automatically goes high on my list. There’s something about Dany belting that I can’t get enough of. BTW, feliz cumpleaños Dany!
I'm so glad you are saying your noticing the bass more, seemingly for the first time, as our eyes are just naturally drawn to Pau as you see her play, and Dany's voice as she sings and plays, but if you have been to one of their concerts, Ale's bass just pounds you in the chest as she is filling in that "wall of sound", and playing so much more than your usual bass line. But the real secret is something she told Dany when she was teaching her to play bass, you can play the notes, now make it sound pretty!
Great, great reaction! Thank you. Qué increíbles temas! Ahora tengo un mejor martes gracias a esta reacción. Dany, que voz tan extraordinaria. Feliz Cumpleaños Daniela! 🎉❤
The Warning establishes themselves as a formidable presence within the rock world, their performances leaving an indelible mark, their melodies etching themselves into the fabric of the genre, their energy propelling them toward a future of boundless potential.
Great Reaction as always! I am sure you heard that they are releasing "Sick" this coming Friday so now you get to experience something new with the rest of us! Can't wait to see what you think.
This entire 22-song concert is very consistent, top quality work. It helps to have heard the album versions of the songs, and the Lunario 2018 full concert of QOTMS, to appreciate how damned good it is!
I believe Ugh was named from someone they worked with on the song who kept saying ”ugh” all that time during recording. Also that the song was a pain in the ass to record, so they just ended up calling it “ugh” as an inside joke. There’s a recent video where they explain all the details!
Great, you've really started noticing things - like Ale's bass lines, and maybe that TW songs starts or ends either with the bass, the drums or the guitar. Each sister has her time to shine.
Drumeo: Pau... The Best Drummer of the year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Common admit it, there was no technical issue, you were just looking for an excuse to go back and rewatch Pau do that drum fill again. HEHE! 😜Seriously though, there is a fan made black and white video of them performing Ugh at The Rebel Lounge where the girls are on fire, especially Pau, so I would suggest that you either come back to it later down the road or at least watch it one on your own time. That bridge in Amour is in French. Je t'aime pour toujours > I love you always Mon coeur est tien > My heart is yours Je te deteste > I detest you Amour de ma vie > Love of my life Je ne mens pas > I do not lie Je t'adore > I adore you
Happy 24th Birthday Dany! "Ugh". Mind blowing, perfect rock that proved difficult to write...because in the end it became THREE songs on the QOTMS album. I don't think there is a better performance of this song ever captured. They were absolutely on fire and Pau was driving the bus. The crafting of this song is absolutely incredible...that resolve at the end...and they were kids! Amour. Leap a few years ahead to a song so different from Ugh but pure The Warning. I loved it from the first listen. Dany's use of harmonics and the wah pedal, so tasteful. Pau's driving drum lines. As you said, "tribal". Ale's bass line, which to me has some serious jazz influence. Dany's vocals, those harmonies, and then the break in to French...all leading up to those soaring vocals from Dany at the end. Dany said she cried when she recorded this vocal. I tear up every time I hear that ending. "Extraordinary". Yep. They do that. Great reactions!
Ugh…. That sound you hear from a procrastinating teen, when you want them to get something done. Which is where the title came from. When doing the concept album Queen of the Murder scene they got stuck with this song, and they’d make that noise when dad wanted them to work on it.. Finish it. Amour French for Love A-more-a. Pau got the inspiration for this one from a 15 second clip from the Disney animated movie Ratatouille.
Ugh has always been a favorite of mine. I sometimes get Sabbath vibes from it. But for me, this live version of Amour beats the studio recording, even though Dani has a quick slip vocally, Pau and Ale's hamonies on the first half of Dani,s long note at the end gives me chills
Great reaction. So far there aren't any The Warning songs I don't like. Some I like better than others and my favorite changes with the moon. As recommended below, the TedX performances are a must do. On my trip down the rabbit hole, I enjoyed some of the VLOGs they have done about 4 years ago. It is amusing listening to the three of them and they provide insight to some of their songs. I think besides the great music, their personalities and attitudes is why we fall in love with them as a band. Keep up the reactions!
Ugh is so named because they had a difficult time getting this song the way they wanted and Amour was inspired by Pau watching the rat watching the humans argue in the movie Ratatouille. 😉
Happy birthday Danny🎊🎊🤘🤘🤘And great reaction. You know each song has an history and ritm and melody may be punk; grunge; ballad or pure rock we don’t know. Only the girls surprised us…..warning 4ever🤘🤘🤘
