Its his baby brother you can tell they really love each other I get why they didn't get along when they were younger its because of the age difference when you're the older brother by at least 5 years there is a disconnect between yall but as you become adults there's a love and a bond that never goes away I lost my little brother wish we had this now
Vince seriously screwed Dustin over with that Goldust gimmick, still the fact he was able to get over as Goldust and have people remember him even to this day just goes to show how impressive of a figure Dustin really is.
Cmon now man you gotta realize how sus that sounds. Just because it’s wrestling doesn’t mean you have to smash in wrestling carnie lingo into sentences where it doesn’t fit
It’s really not that complicated or hard to figure out they both called themselves the American nightmare cause their father was the American dream. It’s just a homage to their dad. 😂
@@purpleperc1012it’s not about figuring it out, it’s about having or knowing the knowledge of said situation/subject. “It’s not complicated” it’s very complicated and very difficult to know something you had no clue about it, you look very ignorant
@@purpleperc1012 Nice cocky response moron. Everyone knows they're related. Not everyone knew Dustin had the moniker first. Which is what the comment that you are replying to was stating
Lol you should see the shirt design jobberdust stole from hogan. He's been a walking gimmick infringement since he quit and went into business with nomega, the young cucks and Dixie Khan.
Goldust is one of most unique characters ever in wrestling and he was there for a lot of the attitude era and ruthless aggression. Dustin definitely should have been in the hall of fame already.
@@luedanger561 Ray is still in WWE again, so doesn't count. As I'm used to say, in any platform, about CM Punk and his comeback to WWE... the main reason why he made the comeback even at risk of resulting an hypocrite to some fans wasn't the money, wasn't the competition with young talents or his will to support them... sure they have a role and will always have for any Pro Wrestler... but the true real reason, the deepest of them all, it was the Hall Of Fame induction. He knows, and I believe Paul Heyman played a huge role in that comeback so he definitely advised him about that, he had no chance to get it unless he was coming back to WWE. So CM Punk did come back, because before CM Punk there is Phil Brooks and Phil Brooks craves to get there whatever being an Hall Of Famer really means, he knows he deserves to be there if the greatest ones are there. Legacy is the most important value these human beings aspire to. Most people don't get that because most people do not care or never aspire to create a legacy on their own, whatever they work for and however hard they do what they do. What Cody Rhodes did, taking Dustin's American Nightmare persona, was all about legacy once again. More people should take inspiration for that. It's something I personally always felt since I started working with my father, alongside my studies, when I was a teen and that's perhaps the reason why I always felt what Cody has been doing, the ceremony to give Finn Balor and Samoa Joe the very first Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Tournament trophy was probably the moment he knew he had to leave WWE in order to own his own path which we all know by now as his Story. His emotional breakdown during that event I so perfectly remember, was symptomatic. When passion, pride ad dedication take a man over it's a life changer condition and Cody embraced that completely, with the results we all are witnessing today. If we do not feel that same mix of motivations and that same need we are nothing more than just survivors, worst possible scenario, zombies.
They really, not a single one of them has a fragile ego like 90% of the rest of Wrestling does. The entire family including Teil and Mama Rhodes are so nice and caring for everyone around them. Dusty and Mama Rhodes taught them so well.
Goldust is one of the best characters in wrestling history!!! Man the Attitude Era was so amazing and to be born in 1990 seeing that Era we were so spoiled then to be like guys you want to watch Raw tonight see what's up with Stone Cold and the Rock or want to watch Nitro and see what the NWO is going to pull, damn I miss those days!
I was born more than a decade before you, the 80s ofcourse was amazing to be a kid/wrestling fan as well. I love your recollection of being able to choose from what show you wanted to watch. That's what it's all about. When you and your friends were kids enjoying jumping from WWF to WCW, I was a twenty something with my friends doing the very same, as well as ECW and a few other short lived 90s wrestling products. But you're damn right about how fun it was to have the WWFs attitude era bouncing off of the wild wild west and wacky product that was World Championship Wrestling, especially from 96' til their demise. Many a Monday nights getting stoned and having a beer w/friends when Bischoff would reveal the result to WWE's main event 😂 WCW was 3 tires off the pavement at all times, and although it inevitably spelled their demise, no doubt it was a fun train wreck to watch and at one point an amazing wrestling product to go up against WWF. Anyway, thanks for the nostalgia with your comment. Happy wrestling ;)
Dustin probably wanted him to do it. All Cody is doing is embracing his family heritage. Dustin seeing a bit of his history in Cody’s persona must be great.
@@2Good2BeTrue45in entertainment history there is nothing that hasnt been done before. But getting it right isnt just easy look at the various gimmicks that failed .
I’ve never heard anything but those two absolutely loving each other. It’s his little bro. He’s probably grateful and glad that now nobody else can even try to be the American Nightmare. It can now only belong to the Rhodes. I highly doubt he’s anything but extremely proud of him.
Anyone who hasnt. Watch 'dustin rhodes kingdom entrance' where its basically codys theme mashed with his entrance. Even syncs up the "woah" to perfection. Tbh, dustin looks like the final boss version of cody i forget how jacked and built he was in hisnyounger years.
@@2Good2BeTrue45in the end it's not like Dustin was ever going to return with that persona it's just something that is passed down from brother to brother like ot should be
As a little brother who has a big brother who always encouraged me and had my back (pass or fail), the love of a big brother is everything and will push you to be your best.,👍
I know Dustin had his issues with drinking and what not but any interview I've seen him in the last few years he seems very alert and thoughtful and stoic and he thinks before he speaks. You can tell whatever issues he had with his Dad and Brother is in the past and he truly loved his Dad and loves to see how big his brother is getting and not jealous like some older wrestlers can be. He had his time and he stepped aside to let Cody shine. Goldust to this day is still one of my favorite characters from the attitude era. He took something so outlandish and out of his wheel house and got it over and embraced it. I think it gave him freedom and let him be himself and not just be treated as Dusty's son.. He didn't make in wrestling just cause who his Dad was. He made it because of the work he put in. I'm happy to see him happy and sober and enjoying the twilight of his career.
i love the legacies in the rhodes family, ik gimmicks can be passed around in wwe, but the fact this family basically shares their gimmicks amongst each other is really fun
Those of us that have been alive longer than 20-30 years didn't forget, we just loved Goldust more. He was still living in Dusty's shadow as American Nightmare.
Dustin is by far one of the best wrestlers to ever be in WWE. He understood the business and delivered every time. Love him or hate him. He was doing his job beautifully and you were right in the palm of his hand
Dusty and Dustin are 2 of my all time favorites to ever enter the ring. I don't watch wrestling very much at all anymore, but I keep up just enough to love what Cody is doing. Long live the Rhodes family
That's what makes Cody's story that much more compelling. Dusty and Dustin both got screwed out of their dreams. I wished Cody referenced his brother more... Dustin deserved a lot more than the business gave him.
Dustin is such a great older brother for doing it for him without thinking twice and Codys finally getting the recognition he finally deserves! His dad looking down so pround and Dusty feeling Funky as can be up there! Dustin is a legend and Goldust is one of the best characters in history!
When OG American nightmare pass the torch to his younger brother and be success with it. It one of those Dustin(Golddust) ever greatest contributions to the business
I didn’t forget, I didn’t even know that in the first place Also seeing dusting rhodes what he was in the old wrestlings and being glodust in wwe and what he is now is just crazy He went through different characters
Just like his dad humble and looking out for young talent and helping out . But here he is looking out for his brother and now Cody killing it in WWE. Og American nightmare and young American nighmare.
I grew up watching Dusty and Dustin. Fell off when Cody was a rookie and now I'm so far invested I can feel the nightmare inside. Dustin is and will always be my favorite. Go baby,do it. Love that.
I literally didn't know this! 🤯 Dustin is the most supportive older brother ever. Much respect to him! He's the type of brother I wish I had! I truly wish Vince had done better by Dustin, man. Goldust as a character was a treasure.
Really cool of Dustin. I’m sure no one would have blamed him for saying, no that was my thing. But he was looking out for his little bro. I’d like to think older brother would do the same.
To carry on the name of your brother, the dream of your father and the hopes of your mother and family. Cody Rhodes truly deserves what he has accomplished right now in his wrestling career.
Dusty is one of my favorite Wrestlers pure athlete and could work like a son of a gun no mater the gimmick, Plus I grew up in the same Neighborhood that his Dad grew up in right here in Austin Texas.
Dustin was so good as Gold Dust that it took me 3 years to realize that was Dusty's Kid. And boy could he invoke a range of emotions for people with his antics.
